Such a lovely well kept campsite with excellent facilities including lovely play park for the kids.
Loved the no cars on pitches rule which left room for kids to play safely.
The river was too high to play in while we were there, but the rushing water was a welcome background noise.
I was worried about road noise from the new Caernarfon bypass, but you couldn't hear it at all.
My only slight quibble would be the lack of essentials in the on site shop. We needed butter one morning but the only cold product on offer was uht milk.
I know they don't want to take custom away from local shops but when you have 2 young kids in tow, popping down the road for forgot items becomes a major expedition! Less sweets and toys for the kids to beg for, and more local produce, baked goods and fresh milk/eggs would be welcome.

Well. Where to start?
This camp site is the best we've ever stayed at yet! It is set in a beautiful area.
The grounds are very well kept, with roads leading into the site, all stunning flowers in full bloom.
The facilities are fantastic! Lovely hot showers & clean working loos.
The games room is fab, with chess, pool, table tennis & table top football. Just a small fee to hire bats & ball. Great fun for all weather as it's all under cover.
Outside is volly ball & badminton. But the absolute icing on the cake for our family was the river. The kids played in there the whole time, we were on site.
Shallow stream that runs in a horse shoe shape. Great for all ages. In the centre of the site is a fantastic kids park. The kids played until 10pm in there, when it then got dark.
So back to the pitch to light the fire & toast marshmallows. We have met some really lovely families this week who we intend to keep in touch with.
Theres a little shop with all the essentials. On site there's the Bistro. We didn't have a meal there, as we had brought food with us, but the coffee was perfect.
The staff were on hand when needed. They were very accomadating, kind & friendly. Nothing was too much trouble.
The nearest shops are in Caernarfon a 10-15min drive away. The roads are to narrow & busy to walk away from the camp, so a car is essential. There were no pavements to walk along safely on the main roads.
There's plenty to see & do in Caernarfon, the castle being the main attraction. We also visited Llanberis slate mine & museum. This is a fab little find. It is free & run by volunteers.
Here you can find out all of the history on the quarry. There's a small row of houses, which you can go inside to see how they used to live.
So to sum it up a fantastic camp site that we will definitely be returning to in the future. Gets full marks from us! Well done to all the staff & owners at the site.

I stayed here with a couple of friends to climb Snowden by a quieter route. So site location was crucial.
However, the site was excellent in all aspects.
We did have a lot of rain on the Friday but once it was over the ground drained very well.
I would definitely recommend this site.

A lovely location in the loop of a river, great for the kids to play in - and there were a lot of kids! I like the sound of kids playing on campsites. Good play area too.
The site has taken covid precautions very seriously and has reduced usage of both its shower/toilet blocks, and has an imaginative way of ensuring only 2 people in at a time!
A bit more expensive than most sites I stay in, more for people staying a few days, but I'm very happy with my stay there.
I liked their policy of not having cars on site after unpacking - really makes a difference.

Stayed for 7 nights pitch 5 next to the river,
The kids loved it here and can’t wait to return,
Lovely dog walk area as well,
We rented a fire pit that the kids loved being around at night
The river drowns any noise from nearby pitches and gives you the feeling of isolation

A Gem of a Camp site, level grass pitches with the added sound of the river passing by.
Very clean toilets exceptional service from staff. Close to Caernarfon for main shopping and a great chip shop that does delivery to the site.
The Bistro serves good quality food but is pricey and a cup of tea with your breakfast will cost you extra. Couldn't keep our 2yr old granddaughter away from the play park.
All in all a very relaxing family campsite.

I stayed at Riverside Camping Caernarfon, we stayed in one of the cabins because we wanted to try glamping, wow it was amazing and loved everything about it, the cabins are clean comfortable and you couldn't ask for anything different, the whole camp site was lovely and the staff and owners were truly warm friendly and would help you with anything you asked, I can not say a bad thing about the campsite or staff and truly would advise any one to stay here and I promise you you will not be disappointed, I'm recommending this to every one I know to stay here in future and I'm going back. Thank you for a truly amazing experience. Mrs Jenkins

I love this campsite so much. It's our favourite. I camp with me, three kids aged 11, 10 and 6 and two well behaved dogs. The campsite is very welcoming. The pitches are fabulous. It's hard to pick a perfect pitch as there are so many great options to choose from. The river is fabulous entertainment. We've a dinghy we paddle down the river and we like to have a paddle and a swim when we go. The playground is central and easy to view from the pitches and I've never known a place where my kids have made so many friends and had so much fun! There is an undercover area where you can spend some time if it's rainy or play some table tennis or pool. What's great about this campsite is that there's enough to entertain without it being too commercial or busy. The balance is just right for us! The shower and toilet facilities and dish washing area are very nice too. No problem with wasps or flies. Lovely and quiet. 10 minutes into Caernarfon where there are lots of supermarkets and a chip shop and Chinese takeaway and the trusty MacDonalds and KFC! Also a home bargains in easy reach for cheap toys for rainy days or missing camping equipment. Lots of beautiful things to do around the surrounding area but to be honest there is plenty to entertain in the campsite itself. Cannot recommend highly enough. Thanks Riverside.

Spent 2 nights here on 17th/18th July. Loved this site, had lots of space, and a lovely open feel. The shop was lovely and welcoming and the toilets and facilities were clean and modern. There was plenty to do for kids with a play park and sport area that included a basketball hoop.
There was a river running through the site with a spot to bathe in, that my son and dog took advantage of to cool down.
There was a bistro on site but this was closed on the day we were there unfortunately. The site also had a good walking path for doggies.
The area around had plenty to do, we went zip lining and visited Mount Snowdonia.
We would recommend and would definitely have a return visit to this beautiful part of the country.
Thank you.

Spent a week camping on this excellent site.
A quiet and secluded field with just the spund of the river and wildlife to wake you in the morning.
The toilets and facilities were clean and well maintained and the staff very helpful and friendly.
We didn't use the hookups, but they are available for tents and vans.
An excellent base to explore Snowdonia and North Wales.
Will be returning with our motorhome later in the year.

Fabulous campsite for kids. I took my three grandsons and they had a ball, despite the poor weather. Only issue I had was the tumble drier is really poor and the manager didn't mind that another camper took my wet washing out to put her own in. Manager told me the other washing was only damp so wouldn't take long. This surprised me as earlier in the week, when the drier was broken, she was so helpful and actually took the two sleeping bags I had washed and dried them for me.

We stayed here 2nd week in September and what an excellent week we had, I wont repeat what other reviews say but what a fantastic site, our pitch was next to the river which was really nice, the site was quiet with just a few tents on it because of the time of year but what fantanstic weather we had, Showers and toilets always clean, the Mill Café served good food and reasonal prices. This site is well worth a visit, hope to be back next year.
