From the very friendly welcome from Anita, we loved everything about the site.
Despite the road running along the top of the site, you forget it's there and at night it is very quiet.
In fact the site is quiet and peaceful all the time in our opinion.
The facilities are all very clean all day.
This is our first visit to Cannock Chase, and it won't be our last. We don't usually revisited a site, but this will be one we do.

I would ditto the review 6mantent left. Mainly caravans and motorhomes while we were there, but a couple of tents on the inner grass area.
Walk leaflets very useful. Did the lovely 40 min walk to Chetwynd Arms pub first afternoon but be aware they don't serve food Mondays or Tuesdays. The path is wet in parts, even in very dry weather. Next day we did the (3 mile) walk to castle Ring - again a lovely walk with some ascents and descents.
Facilities block perfect. There is no mobile signal but free wifi which did the trick. Our tv worked ok with the digital aerial. If you like a good choice of walks direct from the site, this is perfect.
There is a beautiful canal (Trent and Mersey) walk from behind Trent Industrial Park in Rugeley (we parked at Screwfix). We walked to Wolseley Bridge and back (just less than 3 miles each way) - not particularly impressed by the pub as they do nothing to take advantage of the river side location. Pizza was good though.
We had wanted to have an evening meal at the Rag at Rawnsley but turned up on Tuesday evening at 6. 30 and it was fully booked.
Went to Michael's chipshop outside Rugeley instead - very good mini fish special for £7. 80 each. Would be happy to return to do some more of the walks.
The Plum Pudding pub (canal side) looks good but didn't get chance to try it.

Making a return to this wonderful site, so bear with me whilst I catch up on my reviews!
So for this trip, I'm taking a very local trip to my local Camping and Caravanning Club site in Cannock Chase which is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
Preamble: Usually I'm a family camper, with my outwell polycotton tent which weighs an absolute tonne with all of the challenges of packing into an estate car, with the biggest roofbox available, with a growing family, dog and growing amount of stuff to bring. NOT THIS TIME! Cheap 2m x 2m tent this time !
Basically I was temporarily chucked out of the family home as the wife had booked several of her friends around for a night of jollyment and I had to scarper off and find my own accomodation for the night. An option was a £110/hotel. Or I could go up the road to my local campsite and freeze my **** off for the fraction of the price ! I'm glad I did !
Booking Process - booked as a member on the C&CC app - slightly problematic but after several attempts I got lucky.
Arrival - after a trip for provisions as the local tesco superstore (Hednesford), I arrived and parked in the visitors car park. Checked in reception, and was greeted by a friendly warden couple. We had a giggle about my circumstances for the evening and I was then shown to my pitch which was in the furthest corner of the site. On our way to the pitch the friendly chap explained that the glamping tents were being removed (they had gone) - in my opinion a great move as they took a massive amount of space of the premium pitches on the site which were never used! It also became clear the issues I had when booking were due to the fact they were closing off many of the grass pitches due to the wet weather before the site closes end of Oct.
Site - lovely peaceful location in cannock chase with walks and trails directly from the site - literally on your doorstep. Trees all around and some sheltered pitches. Well mown grass. Small number of seasonal pitches as well as electric hardstanding, electric grass (conditions permitting) and non electric. One way system and code controlled entry date. On a busy road through the chase which can get busy but wasn't too bad actually.
Facilities - single laundry /dishwashing/ bathroom block in the style of wooden alpine buildings, same as reception. Local maps and info. Reception has a small shop with info about local areas in adjacent room with leaflets as well as info about trails next to ulltilities block. Small play area for the kiddies, but id say more of an adult oriented site.
Overall - I had a relaxing time considering time. Of year. So peaceful. Lots of walking to be had and maybe mountain biking if that's your thing. Hednesford Hills raceway is a stones throw away for you petrol head fans but can be heard when there is a meet on like there was when I visited. When nightfalls it is eerily quiet with calls of owls foxes and badgers.
NB. No mobile /data signal on the site, it is available just down the hill towards hazelslade and hednesford, so bear this in mind. There is free wifi which I found useable for whatsapp and basic browsing, but it does cut out periodically and is certainly not fast or ultra reliable, so take a good book, games or download content for consumption before you leave. I picked up a chippy dinner from Trocadero on Sharon Way in Hednesford
ALL IN ALL GREAT SITE. ! (sorry for detailed review 😁🤓).

Peaceful, well maintained site in a woodland setting on the edge of the Chase.
A great location for outdoor enthusiasts with walking and cycling trails directly from the site.
Excellent facilities, sufficient for the large site.
Friendly & helpful wardens.

Great location for the forest for walks and mountain biking.
As previous reviews have stated the wifi and phone signal is not great. There is a pay phone in the information room.
40 minute walk to The Chetwyn Arms, lovely village and pub.
First time I've ever had to pay 50p to put freezer blocks in the freezer.
The site is card only no cash.
Very clean and tidy site.

The site was excellent, it did what it said on the tin.
Warden was very welcoming and informative.
Like the fact you're not told where to pitch, but go where you like.
Definitely stay again.

Absolutely typical club site, very clean and efficiently run but very bound up in the rules.
The Wifi was very poor and unusable. The website for booking club sites is frustrating if you want to get prices for a stay before you book.
Location is good, with good walks and cycle tracks available from the site. We enjoyed Canock Chase which was a new area for us.
