 Booked a three-night weekend tent pitch. Booking was arranged by email as the website does not currently offer advance online booking, with payment made in cash on arrival.
The site is easily accessible from the main road and offers very basic, inexpensive camping, as described. The majority of pitches are occupied by touring caravans and camper vans, spread across two fields, with tents generally pitched between them, towards the top of the fields, or in a separate overflow field. We chose the overflow field, which offered a little more space. The site is relatively compact, so the facilities are never far away, and the other campers we encountered were friendly.
Fires were not permitted at that time, although we were told that barbecues could be used on a table. There is an outside tap labelled as spring water near the washing-up area, with a short hose attached. The other taps we saw were labelled as not suitable for drinking, so we used our own bottled drinking water. We also brought our own hand sanitiser, antibacterial hand wash and washing-up detergent.
The toilet block was clean throughout our stay and the showers had consistently hot water. Flip-flops would be useful for the shower area. The facilities are adequate for a short stay.
It is worth noting that this is a working farm, with livestock and working dogs nearby. There can also be some road traffic noise, particularly at night. We found it quieter after moving our tent further up the field, away from the road.
The surrounding area was the main reason we chose this campsite, and the location is convenient for exploring local Elan Valley. During our stay, we did experience an unpleasant smell near our original pitch, in the area of a tree-lined ditch behind the tent. We raised this with the host and were shown alternative pitches, eventually moving approximately 200 metres further up the field, where the smell was no longer noticeable. We were also told by other campers (young children) that the host had warned them to avoid playing in the lower end of the field as it contained decomposing sheep manure.
Overall, this is a very basic, inexpensive campsite in a convenient location, best suited to caravans and camper vehicles, or those looking for simple facilities and a no-frills tent camping experience rather than a more developed campsite.

Lovely site set in a valley with beautiful views.
The site clean and Sue the owner works extremely hard to ensure that the facilities are clean. She has use her ingenuity to upcycle and not waste anything.
The site is simple, does have hook up and hard standing if required, but we stayed on a quiet grass pitch.
The owner couldn't have been more helpful and the site fee was excellent value.
Plenty of walks direct from the site and you can catch the bus at the end of the lane.
We had a very peaceful time and unusually for Wales good weather.

What wonderful site. Sue and her daughter make a fantastic team. Well cared for and clean.
Friendly, welcoming and laid back.
So helpful.
Beautiful scenery all around. Easy access to lovely walks straight from site.
Private access to the Wye river where my dogs loved to take a dip.
Amazing night sky.
All this for a very reasonable price of £10 for non electric and £20 with electric.
Don't hesitate to go and stay. You will not be disappointed.
I will definitely be returning one of my favourite sites now

Last reviewed in 2021. Still a beautiful tranquil site. Masses of room between each tent/ caravan/ motorhome. Very dog and people friendly with load of easy accessible walks.
Sue, Amy and the entire family, always pleasant, and nothing us too much problem. Loads of kites, owls 🦉 and farm animals.
Lovely sounds at night, so peaceful.
All amenities spotlessly clean
Fire pit and wood provided at a very reasonable price. Very highly recommended

Fabulous campsite, spotless facilities, extremely reasonably priced and a beautiful location in the Wye Valley.
Lovely, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable owner, Sue.
Originally booked for 3 nights but ended up staying for 6.

Excellent site, back to basics dark park site, host was lovely, friendly and good sense of humour!
We were there during a torrential storm! Had internet access.

Lovely hideaway site.
Met Sue on arrival, very helpful nothing too much trouble all weekend.
Facilities basic but all what we needed and clean. Easy access.
Lovely wooden tables and benches made from trees gave it character.

Lovely friendly campsite.
The host Sue and her daughter couldn't do enough for me.
Reasonable rates and I was able to freeze my ice packs for my onward travel.
Shower and toilet facilities were clean and tidy. £1 for a shower but worth every penny. Hot and powerful.
Can't wait for my next stay.
