 Little gem of a site bordering the Forest of Dean. Beautifully kept site with plenty of pitch space.
Good facilities for such a small site, with lots of things provided ( even tea towels in the washing up area if you wanted to use them, and a basket to put them in to get washed once you’d used them. )
Bev, the owner, was so friendly and helpful, and very knowledgeable of the surrounding area. Nothing was too much trouble for her.
The forest is brilliant for walking and cycling to suit everyone. We were able to mountain bike from the site to the trail centre ( about 5 miles on largely forest tracks) and then enjoy the trails.
The route there and back was pretty flat which was a bonus.
A lovely stay on a lovely site, in a lovely area and we will definitely be back to Hawthorne Cottage.

When we arrived bev came to greet us, she gave us all the information we needed and the site was nice and clean
The facilities was best I have ever seen
I hope to go there again

Stumbled across this jem of a place this weekend and wow, sat right in the forest of Dean with stunning clean grounds with lovely big hardstandings and grass areas, small but perfect and clean toilets and showers, there's also a bike wash which is awesome addition,
Bev and her husband were absolutely brilliant, me my wife and our disabled dog Jake arrived and I only left jakes harness for his wheelchair in the car but Bev and her husband came to the rescue and made a makeshift harness, Jake was so pleased he was able to do a little exploring,
Thank you so much, we will be back soon, , Jake said thanks 😍

A lovely, quiet, very well maintained and secure site in the Forest of Dean with walks in the forest from the site.
There is a new toilet block with a large shower room and a large room each for men & women containing a toilet and washbasin. These are kept spotless.
The shower requires a 50p token. There are also very good washing up facilities in this block.
The site (as described & pictured on the website) is sloping but most of the (hard-standing) pitches are level - worth having something to level your unit just in case although blocks are helpfully provided.
The manager (Bev) is very friendly, helpful and hard-working - her site is a credit to her. Pitch rates are fair.
The site is within reach of Monmouth, Abergavenny, Cheltenham, Chepstow and Gloucester. There are different supermarkets within 5 miles.

We've visited here twice now and it's fast becoming one of our favourite sites. It's in the middle of the Forest - fantastic for mountain biking and hiking.
There's a marked trail from the site that leads to the charming village of Bream where you'll find a lovely cafe for lunch.
The campsite is peaceful and quiet and a haven for wildlife, bird feeders everywhere. Bev, the owner is great and always at work making the site the best it can be.
Immaculate pitches and new for 2024, new showers and toilets - only one of each, but that's enough as only 10 pitches.
Within walking or cycling distance of The Miners (in Sling) - superb food, and The Butchers Arms in Clearwell - again great food and friendly staff.
Can't wait to return.

We arrived bang on time due to the brilliant directions Bev the owner emailed to us,
We found the site beautifully neat & tidy with everything we could need,
Very spacious pitches, shower &toilets, washing up area were new and spotless.
Bev is very informative and on hand to help with any questions.
We had a great time in the forest and slept like babies every night as it was so peaceful.
We will be back.

Nice campsite quiet location with lovely walks in the Forest.
We only stayed 1 night as campsite was full, we would definitely stay again.
Washing up room to be added which would be great.

Beautiful site which is kept immaculate by the friendly owners. Facilities are basic but always spotlessly clean.
Nice big pitches with stunning views across the forest.
O many lovely places to visit or walk to.
The owner has all the information and knowledge available to make the most of this lovely area.
Pubs shops and takeaway all handy, what's not to like.
We would have no hesitation in recommending this great site and would definitely stay here again when in the area.

Very nice site. We loved the quietness so peaceful. Plenty space for our caravan.
When we arrived Don & Sue were very nice and helped us.
The site owner was out. They gave us info and for £1. 00 a night a cable for a sky dish to help get more channels on my tv. Don set it all up.
Great place to be to check out other area's.
The Dean Heritage and Taurus Crafts centre is well worth a visit and the cheese scones delicous.

What's not to love? small immaculate peaceful friendly picturesque site.
Lovely flower-planting, hedges & grass maintained, water-tap in close proximity and the superb waste-recycling hidden from view, nicely kept loos/shower.
Forest views, walks, nearby cottage selling fresh eggs, another for honey. Super owners could not be more helpful.
If this was a home from home, I'd feel very proud of my home! visited Symonds Yat, Monmouth, etc.
Look forward to returning another time.

Lovely small site. Beautifully kept.
Bev the owner was very welcoming with lots of information on the local area.
It was a very quiet site and we enjoyed watching all the birds that ate at the bird feeder by our van.
Tv signal was good and wifi included.
We will definitely be visiting here again.
