 Pleasantly surprised with this site. Stayed for one night. Seened very busy.
Usual clean and well kept facilities on a CAMC site.
Friendly helpful staff.
Would visit again for local places to visit such as Cragside.

The site is the usual CMC type, but so much better. The wardens are very helpful and run around continuously with pleasant smiles and any weeds are unceremoniously removed.
There is a tidy, clean, well kept toilet block. Fish and Chip van on Monday is good value.
The site is quiet and adjacent to an old gravel pit that has been repurposed as a nature reserve. If you like birdwatching and bird listening then this is the place to go.
Cragside NT is a short drive away, with motorhome parking adjacent to the clock tower and formal garden. This is a walk away from the house, but it is served by a shuttle minibus.
Other than that, unfortunately the only downside to the site is the CMC's ever escalating pricing structure, but we at least knew that before we arrived.

We were impressed with the site itself - friendly wardens who had organised a treasure hunt round the site for children, and provided pots of fresh herbs (which we used). Very good modern facilities including a room with a small bath for toddlers, and not one but two! WCs available while the facilities were being cleaned.
We chose our pitch carefully to stay out of the shade of the many trees, and we liked the un-regimented layout. We used our CAMC voucher to get one night free: £45pn.
Very quiet, with a bird hide by the lake in the woods. There are no pubs in walking distance but the nearest fuel station is well stocked; the dog walk is not off-lead, because the woods by the lake & river are a nature reserve.
My fault, but I did not check the site location and relied on Alnwick in the address. In fact, the site is on the same A-road as, and much closer to, Wooler. We prefer to stay hooked up and walk or bus to local attractions, that wasn't possible here.
The B6341 over to Alnwick is challenging in a MH, with hidden dips, tight bends and steep sections - we passed a car that had just rolled into a field onto its roof after missing a corner, other people had stopped to help the occupants.
Cragside (NT) and its formal gardens is worth a visit, there's a separate area for MH parking, but I found the uneven stone steps very awkward. Alnwick castle (HHA) has much to see, we'd been round Alnwick Gardens before eg Poison Garden (separate tickets), and of course Barter Books in town is heaven for book-lovers. But beware! Alnwick town centre street has a narrow stone arch, we had to detour to avoid it but it should be ok for vans without high tops.
Nice though the site itself is, I think the plus points are outweighed by the negatives for us & we're unlikely to be back.

Brilliant Wardens!
We don’t usually write reviews unless something is particularly bad or particularly good. This was definitely the latter.
If you have read any negative reviews regarding issues with wardens here, let me reassure you that the new wardens, as of 1st August 2024, Donna and Phil are absolutely brilliant. Helpful, friendly knowledgeable and professional, we can’t praise them enough.
We were a little concerned having read some very negative historical reviews on other websites about overly officious wardens but this is now absolutely not the case and totally the opposite.
The site is wonderfully quiet and away from any road noise. The grounds are very nicely kept and pitches are extremely large and well spread out with a number of trees and shrubs.
The single washblock is modern, immaculate and thoroughly cleaned daily.
We wouldn’t describe the site and particularly child friendly as it has no play equipment etc although it does have a play field through the woods but tbh that suited us perfectly.
The surrounding area has much to offer and see, in particular Alnwick town and impressive castle. And of course Bamburgh, Seahouses and Craster area all within easy reach. Cragside just down the road is very interesting and if you like to picnic it’s ideal with the 6 mile long, one way ‘carriage drive’ around the estate which you can do in your own car with a number of car parks and lakeside picnic benches.
Another great spot for picnics is along the Breamish valley at Ingram (within a few miles of the site) where you can park your car right on the flat grassy river banks but take your own chairs etc.
All in all we had a lovely time here and will definitely be back.

Great site in a lovely location. It makes an excellent base for the Cheviot Hills, Ingram Valley and Alnwick.
Friendly and helpful staff on site and facilities were immaculate.
The Bock restaurant about half a mile up the road is excellent - you have to book in advance.

Super friendly staff. Immaculate grassed area and roads.
All good pitches and very level.
Next to a small river ideal for paddling for kids/ dogs.
Toilet block very clean with lots of facilities.
Ideal location to walk in the cheviot. Our travel to the coast ie Holy Island. Cannot praise enough.
We paid £33 per night for 2 adults and awning, so not the cheapest

As beginners in a camper van we found River Breamish Caravan and Motorhome Club site a very pleasant experience.
We had a serviced pitch which was large.
The communal facilities were very clean and up to date and hand sanitiser was provided.

Standard caravan club site, most of sites are hard stands for caravans yet a small field on the side dedicated to tents.
Facilities are excellent and clean all the time.
There is a nice trail just out of the campsite, and all the attractions in the area are close buy

This site is up there with the best. We were staying on the new service pitches, which were spacious, flat and plenty of room around as was most of the site. So nice to see more green areas and not feeling like your in a car park.
Facilities first class and kept spotless by the wardens as was the rest of the site. Brilliant Wifi and TV signal and a lovely walk next to the river and lakes adjoining the site.
Even spotted two Adders around the corner from the site whilst walking to the next village.
So many nice places to visit in the area but for us the best was Cragside, it's stunning at this time of year.

First visit to River Breamish, a wonderful tranquil site. Wardens were helpful and accommodating, especially as we wanted to stay until 12:30 on day of departure.
Weather wasn't particularly kind during our stay, so didn't do the Nature Trail as ground was extremly boggy. We did take the MH into Alnwick to visit the castle. Well impressed as it cost £3 for the whole day, and we used the large bays assigned to Coaches and MH's.
Two other places worth walking to was Ingrams Cafe and the Bosk Bistro in Branton. The Cafe is about an hours walk, mostly alongside the river and a welcome sight for a cup of tea and cake.
As there are no pubs in the vicinity, we thought we'd try the Bistro for a drink, and ended up staying for a meal! Its part of a bigger complex, but well laid out, if a tadge expensive.
Two words of note, the bus stop if you wish to explore further afield without taking your MH off site is approx 20m away on the other side of Powburn, and the entrance road onto the site has some very large potholes. Due to the rain and having trouble distinguishing a puddle from a pothole, we hit one, and this caused damage to some shelves in the MH.
We would come again, maybe when the weather is set fair
