This is a great wee site with easy access from the A68.
Got a friendly welcome and an offer of help setting up (we are both pushing 80 so help unhitching was very welcome).
Had our wee dog with us and she loved her walks down by the wee river.
Site kept neat and tidy and a very enjoyable visit.

The field is roughly 2 acres of flat land with a stream on the boundary.
There are barriers in and out which is something I have always disliked being on a motorcycle as the pad you ride onto to leave does not always sense a vehicle is there unless your in a car.
The toilet/shower block here is immaculate.
There is a pub 3 minutes around the corner if you want it. At £17. 60 for a tent and one person it was a bit expensive.
I have stayed on several campsites in the UK in 2023 ranging from £5 to £13. This is the most I have paid per night this year.

Nice quiet site with clean but dated facilities. The staff are friendly.
The pitches are a mix of hard standing and grass with or without ehu.
There are some chalets which appear to be very good and seem popular. Not too far from Edinburgh by bus.
It is a few miles from the town of Lauder which is ok, a nice bakery and deli and take-away.
There is a hotel /pub/restaurant a 3min walk from the campsite, it serves some nice food.
We have stayed at this site a few times and have always found it quiet.
Nice views of the hills and the stream at the edge of the site is nice, they have put a couple of benches down by the edge and a gravel path.

It's a fairly small and quite basic site, up to the usual CCC club standard.
It was quiet, and well-positioned close to the Carfraemill Lodge hotel where yuou can get a drink or a meal.
We had a pleasant walk into the town of Lauder, along a mix of very quiet lanes and disused railway track, although there is really very little in the town itself.
Nice walks are available in the country around the site.

We have just had another lovey weekend at this small but perfectly formed campsite, next to a pretty little stream with lots of birdlife. It is a small, level and peaceful site.
The toilet block building is a bit tired, but the facilities inside are clean, tidy and warm.
There is a small selection of books and DVDs to borrow in the laundry room. There are lots of leaflets with info about stuff nearby. The staff were very friendly.
We recommend the National Trust Printing works in Innerleithen, which was very interesting but beware that you can only enter as part of a tour, so check the timings. Innerleithen is a mecca for cyclists, both road and off-road.
If you are a book lover, then a visit to Main Street Trading Company, in St. Boswells is a must.

Very handy for a stopover, being just off the A68.
We had a Grass pitch with no electric and nearly a whole field to ourselves.
Old and tired facilities but all very clean and fully operational.
Many songbirds in the adjacent trees and swallow nesting in shower block eaves.

Lovely site in the countryside with great staff.
The dawn chorus was fantastic.
We saw lots of different birds around the campsite.
Very peaceful and well laid out.
Would recommend.

Wonderful site for trailer tent in superb weather - 29 degrees on Aug Bank Hol. Pitched on grass by side of gurgling stream - we were given the option to choose our pitch.
Wash block all good, site quiet except naturally when the BH arrived it filled up.
Staff very unobtrusive once we were pitched they kept themselves to themselves. Several Chalets on site too.
Lauder is a great little town - no pretensions, no tourist fuss, just take it as you find it. Good Co-op, Deli, bakery, hotel, stately home and lots of walks.
Train line from Stowe either to Edinburgh or south towards Galashiels. Surrounding scenery of Lammamuir hills is fantastic.
We were disappointed the site didn't open in 2020 - hope to return one day.
