 A very quiet and peaceful site just off the A68. It's in a valley with fantastic views of the hills and countryside around. The diversity of wildlife around this site was fantastic. I have never come across such friendly accommodating and helpful wardens. Although this is a club site, they really do go the extra mile. Everything about the site was spotless.Toilet block service points were all spot on.
The site is situated about halfway between Edinburgh and Jedburgh. Both easily accessible by bus or car.
The hotel adjacent to the site is geared up for serving meals rather than drinks, but we enjoyed the meal that we had there. Nice walking area.

We stayed at this campsite for two nights on the way further north to Inverness. The site is very easy to find, just off the A68 and although close to the main road, traffic noise was minimal. Wardens provided a very friendly welcome and helped us onto our pitch.
The site itself was spotless. We have stayed at many CandCC sites but this site has by far the cleanest shower and toiletblock to date! The same could be said for the dishwashing sinks, reception and water/bin area. The site wardens had provided lots of additional info about surrounding area including opening times of local butchers etc.
There was no children's play area on site and there is a small stream running along the length of one side, which could be a slight concern if you had young children. This was pointed out by wardens as soon as we arrived, which was nice as we often let the kids explore whilst we set up caravan.
There is masses to do in the surrounding area as well as Edinburgh being close by. Will definitely visit again as site excellent and staff very friendly and helpful.

Lovely site hidden away just off the A68. Great for a stop over on your way up to the Highlands, or to use as a base for visiting Edinburgh and the surrounding area.
Lauder is a short trip down the road, with a fish and chip shop, local store and cash point. In case you need something, or can't be bothered to cook.
Out the entrance to the site is a Pub. Which I've been told does good food. Although close to the site you can't even hear it at night. The only problem I've noticed is that as you go past the pub car park to get too and from the site it can get busy (at the pub) which can cause access problems when towing a caravan.
The sites cleanliness is up to the standards you would expect of a Camping and Caravaning Club (C&CC) Site. Its toilet blocks are spotless, with enough facilities that you never need to que and wait. There are hard standing pitches and Electric hook ups available. But these seam to get booked up in advance during busy period, especially bank holiday weekends.
The Holiday Site Managers have always been helpful and willing to help if they can. They even helped push the caravan into its pitch once for me, due to wet grass.
A very recommended site.

Very convenient, just off A68, but very quiet. Facilities spotless as one expects from C&CC. Staff went out of their way to make you feel welcome, even asking you if they could get you any supplies even on their day off. Handy for exploring Borders. We intended only staying 3 nights and then moving on to Moffat but staff suggested that my intended route was not suitable for caravans and that best way was to go back to Edinburgh, across the M8 to Glasgow (where we are from) and then down M74 to Moffat ! So, we did the very sensible thing and simply extended our stay another 3 nights. I can highly recommend this site.

This has got to be one of the nicest campsites I have been to so far, and just 22 miles south of Edinburgh. It's an open field bordered by a stream and a field with some horses and sheep.
The washroom facilities were the best I've experienced - really clean and beautifully presented. Nice hot (free) showers - but take 20p for the hairdryer. They're in the middle of the field, so a short walk for everyone. I was also really impressed that they had recycle bins for glass and paper alongside the normal rubbish bins. The wardens were really friendly, and constantly cleaning and keeping the place nice!
This is a small site - with about an equal amount of space given to EHU pitches and an open area of field. There's also 3 log cabins to hire.
There's a very small area on site to walk your dog, and doggy bins beside it, otherwise there's nothing to do on-site. Great for us, as it was really quiet - but maybe difficult if you've got children! We didn't get a chance to explore the surrounding area, and find out what other walks are available.
