A return visit to Tollgate and, as always an excellent stay.
The site is well maintained, clean, tidy and welcoming.
Utility block is always clean site shop is small but well stocked.
Location is great for exploring Cornwall and has Perranporth's cliffs and beach within easy reach.

All honesty I have stayed here a few times and really enjoy it and I’m really choosy where sites are concerned
Roads into site are very large the entrance a little tight but nothing to worry about
Booking is very easy on website and they are quick to respond to any other queries
Checking in was quick and the wardens very friendly
Pitches, general tent/caravan grass pitches are large and nicely mowed
Hard standing pitches are few so booking recommended
There all services pitches are huge but are grass (wife corrected me 2 hard standing fully service pitches)
We stayed on 74 Willow this is a huge and level grass and close to T/B
Toilets are always clean and warm never had to wait
Child’s play area huge with swings etc and big field away from all pitches
Dog walking is amazing just out the gate and you can walk for miles
Pot washing is under cover and plenty
Dog/wetsuit outside washing area
Perranporth 20 minute down hill walk off road
Bus back if you like after a few pasties and ciders
Fire pit allowed
Food nights check boards
Shop on site
In all I give it 10/10
Any questions leave in comments and I’ll try answer them

This is an wonderful site with great facilities
Frequent food vans for a bonus after long day on the beach. Pizzas are amazing.
Owners and wardens are very friendly and shower block super warm showers and dog shower too.
Bus is right outside the site to take you into Perranporth, Newquay and Truro.
The butcher in Perranporth is fab although coop is small and limited but the site shop carries a supply of essentials.
Immediately booked for next year

Ok, now this is a lovely site, nearish enough to perranporth, but you need to be able to walk up hills or drive.
Pitches were good size and clean, grass was cut as soon as a pitch vacated, could have done with raising the blades 1cm though, might have helped with the dry weather.
Facilities were numerous, cleaned once a day thoroughly, but there were bits missed, soap trays in showers need a good scrub.
Aesthetically all facilities were functional but not pretty or coordinated, which is no big deal, but a little more thought would add to the wow factor.
As always in my experience, there weren't enough refuse bins, constantly overflowing and full, but it seems to be accepted practice.
Mobile food and drink vans arrived most days which was great, I partook in the coffee and pizza vans. Especially morning coffee 😁
Dogs were properly accepted which is great and there wasn't any restrictions, even allowed on the large play field. Extra points for trust there.
Wardens and staff were friendly enough, but obv tired as its been a busy season.
I didn't use the reception shop or campers kitchen, though love the irony of the "no cooking" poster near the microwaves lol
I was hastened off my pitch at 1038 as checkout is 1030 which is fine, but, I didn't like being told that I had to move quick as new tenant's were due in 10 mins, the problem with online pitch booking is being able to find which pitches were free. The one I was in was free as I had contemplated staying another day only that morning, nowt major, just don't like fibs.
Overall a nice site, if I wanted to stay in the area again it would be on my list.
P. S. Mobile signal is squiffy, didn't use the wifi as I managed to live without social media :) but I didn't appreciate that my pitch seemed to have best signal so people would congregate to make calls etc. The best being the guy arranging for his colleagues work schedule for grass cutting for the rest of the week etc. Nothing to do with the site, just worthy of a comment 😁

We really enjoyed our stay here. Lots of space for our children to play, the pitches had plenty of space.
Toilets were clean, think the lower ones were due for a refurb, they did look a bit tired but were always clean. Shower block in top field was newer and also clean.
Only downside was water in the family shower was so hot we couldn't wash the children.
Good location for day trips.
Would definitely recommend.

Very nice site with well maintained, good sized pitches, located just outside Perranporth (20 min walk).
Toilets are clean and showers do the job.
Both toilet/shower blocks are a little tired though, could do with updating. Also, the showers are either burning hot or freezing cold (no temp control).
Good sized park for the kids with an animal corner.
There is also various cuisine available throughout the week via mobile units.
Decent all round family site.

It was our first time staying at Tollgate farm and we were very impressed,
Excellent location and facilities with super friendly staff.
Site is kept very clean and tidy and the toilet/shower block is deep cleaned every day.
Only downside was that the showers were sometimes far to hot as you can't control the temperature.
However we shall definitely be returning in the future.

Finally had our 4 nights away, initially booked for Easter '20 then Easter '21, then June - oh god! it was lovely - the beach at Perranporth is just beautiful and Tollgate Farm is a fab campsite.
Easy to find just off the road into Perranporth, very well maintained, good facilities, coffee/snack van, good play area, friendly and helpful staff, quiet.
Lots of lovely walks from the site to the sand dunes/beach/surrounding heathland. Also able to walk into Perranporth across a public footpath over the nearby golf course (20 mins), don't think I'd recommend walking on the road. Bus stop outside site also into Perranporth or Newquay (30 mins), Padstow, St Ives.
Loved it - will return.

A lovely site. On arrival, everything was explained where we were to park, the diagrams are easy to follow. All the facilities were open, with plenty of hand sanitisers placed around the site. The showers were lovely and hot and very clean as was the whole site in general.
4G is very limited so purchased a token for the WiFi, unfortunately it kept dropping off.
There is plenty of walking from the site and a 15 minute walk gets you on to the beach.
All in all very pleased on our one night stop over.

This was our first stay at this lovely site. My Husband & I (and our three Pugs) had a lovely pitch, with far reaching views of the sand dunes and sea.
Immaculately maintained site, with lovely regularly mowed lawns and pitches.
Although we ourselves used our own on board facilities, the shower/ toilet block looked scrupulously clean and tidy. The ground was fantastic and drained really well.
Pegs for awnings/ tents were easily installed and removed, easily the best ground that we have ever experienced in 11 years of caravanning.
We have 50 litre capacity ‘waterhog’ containers, which normally take ‘forever’ to fill. Not so here! The water tap close to our pitch was incredibly fast and filled our containers in no time at all!
This site is very dog friendly, which was perfect for our needs. Not once did we find any dog mess left anywhere, such a refreshing change!
Wonderful location, very close to the lovely Perranporth beach (which is dog friendly all year round). Little touches, such as the outside dog/surfer cold shower are brilliant.
This site is very well run, with wardens on site if required (who were very welcoming, polite and helpful). We stayed on ‘Willow’ section, but explored all other areas which catered for all needs and were equally as lovely as ‘Willow’.
All pitches are incredibly spacious. We cannot praise this site enough and are already looking to rebook for next year!
Well done ‘Tollgate Farm’ caravanning ‘as it should be’ - 10/10
