 This was our second visit to this lovely site which is in a great location with easy access from main Pickering to Whitby Road.
Electricity is available on all pitches which are huge and clearly marked.
Two good facility blocks which are kept clean and well stocked. In addition to showers each block has a large room with a basin and mirror. There is a small freezer for ice packs in one block, a larger freezer or one in each block could be useful when the site is busy.
Amazing value for money, price per person plus electricity if required, what you put on your pitch is up to you.
No shop on site (it's on a busy dairy farm) but it's not far to Pickering for Lidl, co-op and various local shops and the ice cream van visited every day.

Absolutely lovely site which was full bank holiday weekend but never felt crowded.
Three separate areas - a 5 CL, 'Top Field' seasonal with 25 pitches and 'Back Field' touring with another 20 pitches. Pitches in touring and CL were absolutely massive, all well cut grass which was very firm, all had ehu, and very clearly defined
Several water taps dotted around each area.
Showers loos down by reception/ farm house. Immaculate at all times and even with site full never any queues. The overhead showers are quite the best showers we have used for many years.
Shame not possible to walk anywhere from site but road was way too busy and no footpaths
There is a dog walk on site through trees, be careful if using as there are 3 sections where barbed wire fences have been pull down on the path and you need to walkover them.
Rules ask for dogs on leads but to be honest we saw dogs being exercised offlead through the touring site (from the seasonal site) and several tourers had their dogs off lead all weekend too.
That's small nit picky things. It doesn't take away from an incredible site that is priced under 20. 00 which is half anything else in the area.

Lovely well looked after campsite, very friendly owners.
Great children's play area and dog walking area.
Good pitch size and plenty of open areas. Lots of animals to see on the farm, and quiet for a working farm.
Good clean and warm toilet and washing up area.
Lovely area with lots of places to visit nearby.

A truly lovely campsite, set on top of the moors with pine trees as windbreaks. A large site in four sections. The one we were in was behind the trees.
Toilet block is unisexed, very clean and well maintained. Lots of information about cows!
Yes it is a farm with lots of animals, alpacas sheep etc al.
Dalby forest is near by so to are the Bride stones.
Whitby is about half an hour away.
Lovely site, great for an activity holiday

Great location on a working dairy farm between Pickering and Whitby with easy access to the coast and moors.
Very large, fairly level pitches.
The facilities were in 2 linked blocks each with washing up sinks near the door and a row of individual shower and toilet rooms with very solid wooden doors on the other side of the room.
It was quite a walk from our but we had been informed of this on booking and told we were welcome to bring a utility tent. The upside of the walk down had great views with swallows swooping across the path.
There was also space to park the facilities if the walk was too far.
We would definitely go back again.

What a wonderful site, everything we needed in a very relaxed atmosphere. Owners were lovely & couldn't do enough to help us.
The toilets & showers were immaculate with nice little touches like everything to do with cows as this is a working dairy farm, they clearly loved their cows. It was great. Coming from a farming family I felt very at home.
I would recommend this lovely site to anyone. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Brilliant campsite, large clearly marked out plots with electric hookup. On arrival we received a welcome sheet with information about the site.
Multiple water points around the park, there was 3 in just our field alone.
Brilliant well stocked facilities. Showers, toilets and washing up station spotless every time we went in. Lots of animals to see on the farm. Perfect for adults and kids.
And a brilliant price too. Not our first time here and certainly won't be our last.

What a little cracker, and THATS the way to operate a Shower/Toilet block, clean, warm, I didn’t want to come out!
This is very much a working farm with Cattle, llama’s, Donkeys, Ponies and the odd Chickens!
Your near a fairly busy road but not close enough to stop you getting a good nights sleep and very few HGV traffic due to the hilly, winding road,
Smashing little play area and enough grass for kids to play.
Will we be coming back?

Passed this site many times, read the reviews and decided to give it a try, NOT disappointed, everyone & everything as hoped, Whitby (if you need crowds) is just down the road.
Just remember it is a working farm so you can get Flies and associated smells in warm weather.
The smells you soon get used to, the Flies I would advise appropriate repellent.
Otherwise for £17 a night (including dog) very good deal indeed. Will come again.

Excellent site but slightly muddy underfoot but this couldn't be helped due to the amount of rain in July.
Good value for money as the owners had kept the cost as low as possibly unlike other sites that have hiked up then prices.
Unfortunately there was a problem with the site boiler so there wasn't any hot water for the showers/washing up or the farm.
Boiler was repaired on the weekend we left.
Gave 5 for facilities due to the boiler issue.

First I'd like to say thanks to the site owners for sticking with per person pricing and also not being tempted to bump prices up as more people are camping.
Marfit Head is a few miles north of Pickering and it's a really nice location. It's a dairy farm so expect lots of cows as well as sheep, pigs and chickens.
Booking was straightforward, no advance payment required. On arrival you go to the farmhouse, if the owners are out on the farm they leave your information sheet pinned on the door and you pitch and pay later, very straightforward.
Pitches are very big and you're given a choice of which one you can have. The grass was short and the field well-drained despite North Yorkshire's finest summer weather!
The facilities block was extremely clean and the showers were hot. Interesting toilet seats!
There's plenty to see and do in the area including the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, Pickering, Whitby, "Heartbeat" villages etc. Some really nice roads too although the downside of this is all the loud motorbikes driving past the site at the weekend - the only negative to staying at Marfit Head I think.
All in all a lovely, and very good value, site.

Our one night stay at Marfit Head farm was amazing.
The facilities are great and very clean.
The best part was the size of the pitch - it was much bigger than the average pitch size from the campsites we visited before, so it gave us nice comfort.
Location is also great.

Ive not stayed at this site for over 30 years.
Since then there's a new facilities block which is nice but unisex isn't every bodies cup of tea so marks deducted.

Stayed here 4 times now and have loved it everytime.
The time is amazing here very friendly site with very clean and tidy toilets and showers.
The bins emptied every day and food vans visit the site each week with amazing food. Animals on site are well cared for and lovely to watch.
The site is calm and settled by 10pm and everyone respects this.
Each time we stay it's better than the last and never want it to end.

As first-time campers we were really impressed with this site
The toilet block and shower facilities were kept spotless and fully stocked
Staff on site were polite and accommodating
