We had a caravan for a number of years when our were young. Hillside was our ‘go to’ site, we utilised the store and pitch service and loved every visit. Kids got older, caravan got sold.

Eight years on and we have just bought ourselves a new ’couples van’ for ourselves and the two doggos. Hillside was our first trip and it was as lovely as we remembered.

Great pitches, nice and peaceful, wonderful countryside, pretty local towns, fantastic local pub… what more can you ask for!

We’ll be back! 🙂

Thank you for massively helping me out. I was told by the Supplier, who sold the caravan, that everything worked. How wrong!

The staff came up trumps and all has been rectified. Very knowledgeable and friendly, not just to gain top customer service awards, which with some companies it is obvious.

Genuinely helpful, and I was very grateful.

A little more expensive thanI thought, but it is a 5star site.

Hi this is our third time of staying and really enjoying coming to this site, it’s very central to areas of interest.

The site is immaculate and seems weird watching the robotic mowers going up and down even in the dark with headlights on 🤷🏻.

The pitches are huge and facilities are spotless, but think could do with another shower block over the other side of the park as it’s quite a distance and several people have to come in their cars to empty toilets and use showers.

I have been lucky in getting pitches 26/27/28 each time I have stopped, as I am a blue badge holder these are ideal for me.

The only drawback for my grandchildren is the Wi-Fi signal not very strong and used all my monthly data allowance to accommodate their devices.

I can’t wait to go back again.

Stayed on the extra large hard pitch fantastic pitch well spaced out with 16amp hook up and water and water drain.

Brilliant grounds came with our Italian greyhound she absolutely loved the walks

Booked 2 nights

Definitely will be booking again to stay longer.

Facilities immaculately clean. Grounds spotless, staff very friendly.

Had to mark out of 10 it deserves 12

Highly recommend

We stayed in a deluxe megapod. It was reasonably well equipped but there were no wine glasses

However we would have liked to have been informed when we booked that we could not drive up next to the pod. As a result we had to carry our luggage, food, clothes and bbq about 50 yards to the pod from our designated parking space.

When you’re over 80 this is a struggle.

Immaculate site with lovely views and great playpark.

Lots of open space.

Pitch boundaries are not marked out so need to be careful.

Owners are friendly and helpful.

Used as a stop over and wished we had longer.

Wonderful stay as usual, just wish we could stay longer each time.

Wish there was a toilet block on top field though… our mistake to book there though.

Would usually stay on bottom field….

Thought we’d have a change this time 😬😬😬

 Everything about Hillside was exemplary.

Excellent facilities and generous spacing between pitches.

The staff were both helpful and very friendly.

We just loved it and will surely return.

Lovely clean, friendly, tidy and quiet site.

Was the best weather weekend so far so it was quite busy but wasn’t noisy and crowded.

All the staff we had contact with were friendly and helpful.

We will return soon and stay longer.

First time out in our tourer caravan so It was a nervous experience but the welcome from this site was exceptional and the guys helped set up the caravan on the site.

Site is super easy to get to as it’s one long road from the A19 and your there!

Super clean facilities, very clean and tidy site. Lovely walks in the area and great views of the country side.

Great field for the kids to play and large field for ball games.

Staff gave us a print out for the kids with maps to follow and a check sheet for activities along the way.

Our family joined us on the second night and booked out two of the pods. Both loved the place and are already wanting to book again.

A well located site, 5-miles to the North of Thirsk - easy access with just a mile of single carriageway road from the entrance.

Peaceful, good views, surrounded by farmland and some adjacent fields accessible for off-lead dog walking.

We had one of the super-pitches, which are enormous by usual standards, so certainly not cramped!

However, these pitches are a fair distance from the facility block, and even further from the entrance / reception / shop / bathroom facilities - never mind though, it's good exercise !

The reception building not only has two superb bathrooms, but also a large lounge with tea/coffee facilities and comfy sofas.

The other facility block is fine, but a bit more utilitarian.

Staff all friendly and helpful -

Can definitely recommend for a restful stay.

Very well laid out site, great toilet block excellent showers with plenty of hot water.

Very large pitch giving plenty of room for awning and car parking next to unit.

Price was lower than expected with the type of facilities.

Staff were very helpful from start to finish.

Lovely site, clean and tidy and gorgeous views.

We had a fully serviced, extra large hardstanding pitch so made things very pleasant for us.

Didn't use site facilities as we used our own but did have a quick look and found them to be clean and modern.

Staff very helpful and friendly.

Have stayed here before and will stay again.

Stayed in one of the dog friendly pods.

Site is in a lovely location and is well maintained. Nice play park and field for games.

The pod itself was nice but a bit pricey. It was clean and well maintained but very, very hot. We did have glorious weather so the pod could have done with some air con as we could not cool the place down at all, with only a small window to the back and the door to the front, at night we could not get any air through as the door was closed.

Also the picnic bench to the front had a hole in the middle but no parasol, so no shade from the sun.

Unfortunately a premium price is paid for the quirkiness of staying in a pod but it was just lacking those couple of things which would have made our stay amazing. So for those reasons we probably would not stay again.
