All pitches hardstanding with small grass between. Some level, some not so much so probably need levellers (site supplies levellers which is a nice idea). All pitches have water on.
Showers / toilets absolutely fantastic, hotel standard. Showers are 20p for 3 minutes - which believe is to stop people lingering too long and causing queues. The site supplies luxury shampoo, conditioner, soap and showergel which is another great touch.
Washing up area perfect (never been in one so good) even supplies washing up liquid. A washing machine and drier available at £3 each.
Canal is literally steps from the entrance 1/3 of mile along from site brings you to shop / garage.
In the other direction beautiful walk along and past the Westmoreland show ground.
As always, we didn't like pre-allocated pitching - pitch was fine but we would rather choose.
Road past site on righthand side was very busy during the day with constant traffic noise from lorries and cars - it did drop off late evening.

Definetly 5 star we originally were staying for one night but it was so good we stayed for 2
Had everything you need on it laundry, washing up room, showers with plenty of hot water and everything was spotless, restaurant and bar across the road,
It’s right on the canal, which was brilliant for a bike ride
5 minute drive into Milnthorpe if you need groceries or anything
Would most definitely return to stay again and the people who run it are so helpful and friendly

Little Acre campsite was fantastic
The best shower experience ever on a campsite, the toilets and shower rooms were heated even the mirror, that it didn't steam up,
Friendly owner,
This is the third time we have stayed,
Handy for the M6 at junction 36 and close to Kendal.

Beautifully manicured site, well laid out,
Toilets heated and spotless (I'm sure they'd just been cleaned every time I went in!), although we didn't use the showers which I think we're 20p extra to use.
Not far from the motorway exit, easy to find and signposted.
The Crooklands hotel is just across the road, and it's walking distance to the Westmoreland showground.
Short drive into Kendal which has plenty of supermarkets.

Fisherground Campsite - Eskdale
Nestling in the beautiful Eskdale Valley close to Scafell, England's highest mountain and Wastwater, this site is a children's paradise in the heart of the Lake District. The first thing that meets you on arrival is the pond, fed by a stream and usually full of children paddling and playing on tyre rafts. The playground has zip wires, climbing frames, tyre rope-swings and adventure courses.
Grass pitches (some with EHU) for tents, motorhomes, VW-sized campervans (no caravans). Refurbished toilets, showers and laundry. Peace is the watchword on the campsite - catering mainly for families and couples with silence after 10.30pm. Don't forget your marshmallows - campfires are allowed in selected areas. Nearby shop and pub. And there's an added extra: the site sits along the route of the Ravenglass and Eskdale Steam Railway line, with it's own station. Choo Choo! Find out more here

Location is good easy to get too. Easy access to Kendal and Kirkby Lonsdale both are about 7 miles away.
Lancaster canal is just over the minor road alongside the site so level easy walking on the towpath. Note this section of the canal is not connected to the main part of the Lancaster canal so only boat you will see is a trip boat.
Site is very well kept and facilities were clean and well maintained.
Showers and toilets are limited however, one mixed toilet /shower in one area, one male and one female shower/ toilet in the main facility block. A new facility block is under construction for completion soon. Owners were very friendly and helpful.
The site is close to a busy main road and at times traffic noise was a bit intrusive.

We have just returned from a two week stay at Little Acre campsite, this was our first stay at this site and in this area.
The sites location is so easy to access from the M6 motorway it makes Towing the caravan a treat. We were greeted by the owners Paul and Sarah after telling us where things were on the site and what to do in the area we were left to pitch up and explore.
We have been caravanning for over 16 years staying at all sorts of different caravan sites Little acre campsite has the best dog walk we have ever come across, it takes you down by the canal with lovely scenery and wildlife and it is so peaceful and lovely.
The Crooklands hotel across the road from the campsite is a great pit stop on the way back after a day out exploring for a nice refreshment in the beer garden, And they also do some amazing meals. Although for an evening meal especially at weekends booking is advisable.
A little acre campsite has a fantastic toilet block which is spotlessly clean and well laid out, the showers have been designed so that you have enough room to get changed and showered in comfort, the showers are 20p for three minutes, which is more than enough time to shower and wash your hair, the water is always hot the sink provided within the shower unit is also a good extra, along with lots of hooks for towels and clothes.
Little acre campsite is a great place to stay very dog friendly, Paul and Sarah are excellent hosts, the ice cream van that comes to the site is an added bonus, and Paul and Sarah have also organised a meal truck that comes on a Friday night, we tried the pulled pork which was amazing definitely an added bonus and an excellent touch would definitely recommend Staying at this campsite and we are hoping to return in the near future thank you Paul and Sarah for an amazing stay.

Beautiful little site. Level pitches. Paul could not have be nicer or more helpful. The facilities were kept spotlessly clean, he was in and out cleaning and spot cleaning all day.
Very doggy friendly site which is very important to us.
Only one shower which was not ideal but the water is warm and powerful. They also provide shampoo, conditioner and body wash. There are cotton buds and cotton wool by the sinks. Never had this anywhere before.
There are no laundry facilities but There are plans to upgrade the facilities. We went into Kendal only a 10 minute drive and found a laundry no problem.
An ice cream van came to the site which pleased our daughter no end and Paul’s gorgeous spaniel completed her happiness.
If you are looking for a quiet, friendly site it is perfect, it’s a bit far out if you are looking to use the lakes for water sports but there is a canal that runs just by the site which we used to kayak.
Thank you Paul, Sarah and Sandy for a lovely week. 🐾🐾🐾
