Fantastic site. Spotless caravan with everything you could possibly need. The bed was comfier than my own bed.

Great dog walk area so my pooch had a brilliant holiday too.

Rebooked for next year as soon as we got home, trying a lodge the next time as company offers a loyalty bonus discount.

Highly recommend.

 The Campsite:

A lovely, well organised and tidy campsite in a beautiful location. As others have said, there is easy access and good security with the ANPR camera. Clearly marked pitches and roads and reception is open all day until 8pm. The staff at reception were very helpful and friendly, happy to advise on buses and swap notes for coins for the laundry and pool table. On the subject of buses, please note that the nearest bus stop is about a 25 minute walk from the campsite.

Toilets and showers were kept clean and tidy and there is a large family bathroom available with bath. The laundry has a huge washing machine - I think it cost £4. A drier is available too. No shop on site.

The games room has table tennis and a decent-sized pool table in good working order. 50 pence per game - the cues were ok but you might want to bring chalk. There is a (very) small soft-play area which looked like it might be fun for toddlers and small children.

Lots of bunny rabbits around the site in the mornings which was very sweet but might drive a scent-driven dog wild! Also, if you have a dog who reacts to ducks then you might want to ask for a pitch well away from the fenced pond.

When booking a tent pitch, it might be worth clarifying whether you can have an awning or gazebo if this is what you are planning. Also check if you want to have a separate tent for children. As another reviewer noted, this site is part of a larger company and perhaps has less scope for flexibility.

Most pitches are for caravans/motor homes with very few tent pitches available so you probably need to book early. Overall, a great site; we definitely want to return.

The Area:

It's just a 20 minute riverside drive to the centre of Aberdeen. As well as the main city centre sights, it is worth popping over to Old Aberdeen: Kings College was founded in 1495 making Aberdeen University the 5th oldest in Britain. The Brig'O'Balgownie is 13th century and a pretty sight.

If you're camping with children (especially train fans), then Seaton Park in Old Aberdeen is a MUST because Mr Therm (genuine old steam engine) and his carriages add such fun to the playground. Adults might enjoy the Cathedral Walk flower displays and a peep in the Cathedral itself - it has a surprisingly warm and cozy feel.

Trail guides are available online for Old Aberdeen and union Street. The Aberdeen University Shop has a trail guide for old parts of the university if that is your interest. Aberdeen Maritime Museum is excellent and covers the history of the oil industry as well as fishing/trade/harbour developments.

If you like bird-watching then you can visit Torry Battery with views over the harbour entrance where you can also watch ships and boats coming and going. Another birdwatcher there told us that the cliffs just north of Stonehaven are even better. You can sometimes see dolphins in Aberdeen harbour, but we didn't have that luck.

It's easy to head north from the campsite and visit Newburgh - we saw over 100 seals on the bank of the estuary. Also in that direction, Peterhead Prison comes highly recommended by locals; we didn't make it on this trip but it looks like it could be a worthwhile indoor outing when the weather is bad.

Another indoor attraction is The Winter Garden in Duthie Park (free). Some stunning displays divided into habitats and quite a bit that will interest children too. (fish, turtles, venus fly catchers, enormous cacti etc)

For hiking, Bennachie is the place to go, with 360 degree views at the top of Mither Tap. If you can go when the heather is in full bloom then even better.

There are several castles in the area but we didn't visit them.

Beautifully clean campsite on the outskirts of Aberdeen. Located in the countryside, it's peaceful and quiet, however the downside is you need to do a little travelling for a bar / restaurant / shop etc. As there isn't any on site

Check-in was automatic, pick your pitch of the style that you booked (that's a nice feature). I didn't meet any of the staff, due to the auto checking in. The barrier works by ANPR which is nice as it saves you having to write down codes.

The site has all the normal facilities, I didn't have to walk too far for water or waste disposal, everything was as it should be.

Price was around average for a decent site at the start of the school holidays, so represented good value for money.

Overall, I liked this site and will stay here again.

We have not stayed in a static caravan for many years and were really impressed as to how things have improved.

This caravan was very comfortable, well fitted out, and the central heating excellent (needed for a short burst even in May).

The caravan was spotlessly clean and in a nice location on the park beside a duck pond. Our bed was so comfortable we slept in each morning (normally unheard of!).

We were in Deeside to visit National Trust castles and managed three (Crathes, Drum and Fraser) which were all very different and worth visiting.

If you only have time for one, I would recommend Crathes castle in part due to its excellent wall garden.

Quiet site but expected during January. Used it as a base to visit family.

Would use again.

My only gripe is the shower. You literally get 8 seconds before the shower goes off and you have to press the control again. Very annoying when you are trying to wash your hair. I understand the reasoning behind this system but think 8 seconds is ridiculous. Would have expected 30 seconds minimum.

Lovely clean site. Facilities were spotless. Good sized pitches. Nice dog walk.

Good communication on how to enter site. Reception open if any help was needed.

Central for visiting castles and other local areas

Only thing I didn’t like but not sites fault. I’ve never came across this before maybe I’m lucky but people walking on our pitch and looking in our window they were so close. Then they wondered why our dog was barking 🤷🏼‍♀️

 A really lovely, clean campsite.

Easy self check-in service where we found our own pitch.

Other campers were friendly, didn’t see any staff around though.

Toilets and showers were clean and facilities were great.

We needed a base near or at Aberdeen partly for work and to have a weekend away in between. This was the closest we could get and we weren't disappointed.

We were a couple with a dog, and chose a fully seviced pitch which was a good size.

The site was on the quiet side (not a busy period). The shower block was clean and had plenty showers, toilets and sinks.

The dog walking area is about 1/4 mile long and continues onto a farm road, again more than ample for that "early morning/ late night" walk.

The site is handy for the main A90/ Western By-Pass, with Peterculter a short distance away.

Very handy for Aberdeen, where we visited the Dolphon Centre (Torry battery - 3 days, Brimmond Hill, and Balmedie Beach).

A very good secure site and great for visiting Aberdeen and the area.

As a tourer, it was excellent as there is no check in. Gate recognises your reg number, and you pick your free pitch that you have booked which id helped by a good map.
