I need to pass this feed back as I feel it is important.
We love the site at Mablethorpe, but they really need to address some issues. Visited the site last in 2018. Gave great feedback. Friends also have a static on there so we returned once again. (they are now moving as well)
And to be honest I was expecting to give it full 10 starts again, and was confident of doing so, after booking for spring BH 2022 on arrival.
The pitches. Weeds growing through them, and not cut around the seasonal pitches very well, making it look scruffy.
Pitches are a good size and overall very good, drain tend to stink at times. We were on pitch 52 over looking the fishing lake.
Toilets are nice but. No soap, broken toilet for 3 days, lamps above showers only had 1 working all week.
Shower goes cold once in use after 5 min. (Gents)
Ladies toilet same, broken door hinge from last year one of the seasonal pitch users told us. No soap, false nails on shower floor all week, lack of cleaning overall, and during COVID!
Games room, Kids park, teenage kids running wild, no security, and also late night noise on site, all due to lack of security. Kids riding bikes between vans and cars past 11pm, at speed, In fact No security at all anywhere on site.
No COVID regulations followed for shower and toilet blocks at all, which is a shame.
I have since reluctantly cancelled my return visit for next year, as we do like the site, but afraid we cannot guarantee change.
But Coastfields will need to take a grip again on this site, as it is becoming a wild west site. Which will suit some, but not others.
It's a lovely site and needs to get it's overall grip upon it again. Caravan and camping wardens would be a good start to look after that area of the site.
Great pitches, great views, clean toilets n shower but that's it.
Water tap is only at the shower block so can be a trek to fill your barrel, push button tap with short spout so pipe wouldn't go on, obviously to encourage people to pay for services pitches
We were on side near road so a lot of road noise as well as the noise from the bar
Although the showers were clean being push button it was unable to maintain temperature so kept changing tepid to warm
The chemical waste is like an open trough,
Unlikely to use again unless we can't find anywhere else as even on a bank holiday there were a few empty spaces,
Grandaughter enjoyed the playpark and lake beach where she could paddle in the water. People with teenagers would have a blast at the aqua park looks lots of fun, could end up costly though via mobile
Chose the site because myself and my son like to combine camping with fishing, and this site is listed as having 5 fishing lakes. However 3 of them you cant fish because of all the bank side vegetation.
Camping area is good, good clean toilets and showers.
Before we went we downloaded the menu that they have in the restaurant, however the menu you get is completely different. all the family favourites like fish chips, pies, lasagne, curry are now not available and what is available is very extravagant and expensive, although they do offer a takeaway service based very much on a chip shop produce, so why cant they serve that in the restaurant.
First night we had a pizza each and a pint cost over £26. via mobile

Accommodation: Started off in a tent then moved to a pod due to severe weather
Liked:
Went early in the season hoping for a quiet site - exactly what we got.
Disliked:
Early in the season so the nearest toilet block was out of order, quite a walk to the next nearest one, food in the bar was very slow due to not enough staff and was uninspiring when it arrived (had the rump steak), second night nobody in the bar whatsoever and they couldn't provide certain meals on the menu.
We wanted to upgrade from camping to a pod due to a serious storm coming in overnight, there were two pods, both empty and available, we were willing to pay full price and take both but they would only give us one. I thought these places were meant to be making money, obviously not in this case as they didn't want ours. The owners might want to question why their staff are not maximizing earnings!
The Kitchen advertises its open at 9am but they wouldn't serve us breakfast until 10am as it was and I quote "too expensive to employ a chef this early in the season". If the site is open and they are taking paid bookings, surely it is open and full service should be provided?
The pod we were in smelled, the're was a strange odour which was not pleasant. Nobody to report it to as reception had closed and no out of hours contact details.
All in all not the best experience. Yes, I'm sure that everything will ramp up as you get later in the season. Going early in the season should mean it's quiet, everything works and its a pleasant experience. Not this time.
We came to this site for the first time this year on arrival our pitch was ready lovely and clean and in no time we were up and running. We have a super pitch so no carrying water or waste. We have grandchildren with us who loved the park and the arcade. All the staff are Very helpful the food in the restaurant was very nice. We have no complaints would highly recommend we are thinking of extending our stay until the end of the season. Will highly recommend and definitely be back next year thanks for a lovely time.
Had a 4 night stay here as hubby wanted to do some fishing. I booked a lakeside pitch but when we arrived it was not on the fishing lake so we asked to be moved and they did eventually find us another pitch with hardstanding. Showers and toilets clean and the whole site clean and tidy. A huge dog walk. Clubhouse was very quiet only 11 people to play bingo haha in peak time!. Food was good and reasonable. Everything within easy walking distance from touring area. Bus stop outside site. Would return again in the future.
