 My friend and I really enjoyed this site.
It enjoys a very special location, sitting on the banks of the River Severn and very close to the Severn Valley Railway, whose heritage trains could be seen frequently from the site. Hampton Loade Station is a five-minute walk.
Site security was good with access to site road barrier and the toilet block being controlled by fobs which were issued on arrival for a £20 refundable deposit.
We really enjoyed the Unicorn. The beer was excellent and the food was very good for breakfast, lunch and dinner. However, the ambience at dinner was somewhat spoiled by the presence of some noisy young children (whom I think were the children of one of the staff) They were left largely unsupervised, frequently running around, and at times could be very noisy.
Meals were usually served in the bar although there was also a dining room. It was usually closed, except for breakfast, but we were able to eat dinner in it on one occasion. It was much more to our liking, being much quieter with no children making nuisances of themselves.
The toilet block was a disappointment. Sadly, despite the fobs, it seems to suffer from vandalism on a regular basis. There was a sign on the wall apologising for the poor state of the showers which had been vandalised recently. The motion sensor which controls the lights worked but was hanging off the wall by its wires.
The main area (where the motion sensor was) contained a urinal and three hand basins. On one side are three toilet cubicles and on the other, three showers (only two of which were working).
If like me, you’re a pensioner and perhaps a bit slow, if you were in a cubicle or a shower for too long, you’d have to finish your business in the dark because the motion sensor only worked in the central area. That was really annoying, especially at night.
Despite these shortcomings, the site is extremely popular both with anglers and fans of heritage railways.

A large site with well spread out pitches.
We spent two night to do a canoeing trip, which was difficult due to the low water levels.
Showers / toilets were just about adequate, though had suffered some damage due to vandalism.
The pub stopped doing food at 6 an the sunday and kitchen was closed on mondays, so cannot comment on quality.
Staff were friendly enough.
We paid £32 / night inc EHU which is expensive but possibly ok for area.
Access is down a very narrow road with few passing places.

Facilities are very secure with key fobs for both gates and toilet/shower blocks.
Site is very clean and daily litter picker on site. Recycling area available.
The pub on site has a variety of alcoholic and non alcoholic beverage and food available which I must say was well worth the money.
For families attending there is a play area and animals to occupy them.
Would definitely recommend and will be returning.

Site was well maintained, and clean, staff very friendly and helpful. A wide range of foods and alcoholic drinks available.
Family and dog friendly, including play area for children and small range of animals.
Toilet blocks where stocked with consumables however had recently experienced some vandalism as per notification on wall.
The site is very secure with key fobs for both entrance and the use of the toilet/shower facilities.
Would definitely return.

The site is in a very remote location on the riverside and is accessed by a single track lane with passing points and is 1. 25 miles long
Pitches are mostly level but we were pre allocated one that was impossible to level in the front/back direction without bottoming the caravan. I spoke to the staff and an alternative pitch suggested.
The toilet block was reasonably close but an unpleasant smell seem to be around the outside of the block, possibly from the drains running down the hill to the main drain.
There was a soap dispenser in the block for the washbasins but never filled with soap, although a shop bought pump soap was in the ladies. Not very hygienic.
The block was cleaned regularly but it is very rustic. Obviously extended over recent years going off previous feedback.
There is water and electric at the pitches and the site is close to a heritage railway station which serves a line from Kidderminster to Bridgenorth, stopping at various points in-between.
There is a cycle path running alongside leading to the Severn. Valley park which is very pleasant and a good walk along the river bank.
We didn't use the pub as it seemed very busy in the evenings and the people observed their young children on an adjacent play area.
Weather was mixed but overall ok
We wouldn't visit again as it is very remote and the access to anywhere in the area is very limiting on the B roads or unlisted roads.

For a fishing weekend with the grandkids and family great.
Staff on the site are fantastic.
The only let down was the weather obviously one thing they don't have control over.
Food is terrific well worth the money.

Very secluded site
By the river Severn
Great pub lovely food
Shower block could do with a bit of an update
But apart from that very good,
Access with a large caravan or motor home is not for the faint hearted
Ideal for fishermen

Lovely site and the Unicorn Inn is very friendly.
Fantastic out of the way location between the River Severn and the Severn Valley Railway.

Toilets and showers were not the best,
However food was good and reasonably priced,
Staff was friendly,
Site could with being updated,
A little overpriced for overnights stays compared to a lot of campsites with nicer facilities.
