We have been advised that the pub and campsite are currently closed, following sale of the business by the brewery.

We are waiting to hear if the site will reopen under new management.

If you know that this situation has changed in the future, please could you let us know. Many thanks

Campsite was well kept. Some traffic noise from the main road.

Facilities well sign posted.

Showers/toilets were clean, washing up area under cover.

Food served in the pub was tasteful and well presented and a reasonable price.

Staff very friendly and helpful.

Good site with great views & handy for many towns nearby. Local bus service available but check times first.

Short & longer walks based from campsite. The pub does typical pub grub menu & some decent cask beers. Friendly staff. 2 home made ice cream parlours within walking distance.

Only main drawback was the showers; ran very hot or cold unless you constantly pressed the button in & shower door not sealed so flooded. Had to mop up before I dried myself.

First time visiting this site, we'd seen a few times but never stayed.

Absolutely fantastic site. Went for 3 nights over May bank holiday and had an EHU with our tent and it was perfect and a very good price

It's an adult only site and they accept dogs but they must be on leads at all times - both of which perfect for us

Showers are free and hot (very rare on both counts), yes there's only 2 showers, but on a busy BH weekend I waited 2 minutes maximum - just time it well.

We didn't notice road noise at night - more sheep to be honest. Simple solution is to take ear plugs, it is the countryside after all!

We had a meal in the on site pub, great food - you need to book though (not really a surprise!)

There's another pub about a 20 minute walk away but it is down a main road without a footpath

Plenty of walks from the campsite.

I'd highly recommend the site, we will certainly return!

No shop, you have to drive to the nearest shop or facility

Pub only serves breakfast 3

Mornings a week

The grass was vey muddy due to heavy rain, nots the sites fault. We could have done with the option to buy basics bread milk etc even if this was inside the pub

Road noise was loud at night so could keep you awake.

The showers and toilets were clean but only 2 showers and 2 cubical in the gents so had to wait on a couple of occasions

The weather was not great which didn’t help but could have done with livening up

A bit and more effort made to

Make the site attractive at this price point

Was good to be able to get a meal as we arrived too early for booking in.

Only down side wasn't the sites fault but as we like to use public transport and there was only 1 bus to Buxton and 1 back each day.

Left this site after 1 night, arrived just before 5 o’clock. Waited an age to get booked in, and asked if we could book a table for the evening, only to be told that the last meals were finished at 5. No breakfasts available either which was disappointing considering this was a pub and campsite. Nearest cafe was 5. 5 miles away.

Nothing much around the area unless you were prepared to travel.

Loud music from tent area, went on till after 11 pm. Booked 3 days but left after 1 night, not sorry to say we won’t be back. Our neighbours on the next pitch said they waited for 2 hours for a table.

Did not use the facilities so cannot comment. Hubby said they were ok.

Lovely site with great views and facilities.

Four plots with EHU for tents.

Also enjoyed the pub for food and drink.

Ella behind the bar was outstanding!

The site is set in beautiful countryside,

The facilities were good and the pitches were a good size.

The tent pitches are on a bit of a slope but the view is outstanding.

The on site pub was great, the food was really good with very large portions.

There are loads of great walks straight of the site.

Excellent site, great pub, friendly staff, good food. Our first trip out in our campervan with our dog so we needed somewhere close to home in case anything went wrong (thankfully it didn't, despite splitting an awning pole trying to put it up in a raging gale!)

Well maintained hard-standing pitches provided great views across the Flagg Bowl.

Well signed walks in various directions direct from the site.

Would have rated it higher had the 'dogs on leads at all times' rule been observed by everyone else - someone's dog left a substantial deposit at the back of our pitch and several dogs were allowed to run free (within the environs of their respective pitches but still off leads)

Toilet/washroom areas kept clean and fresh with a daily clean, plenty of hot water in the free showers but the addition of hooks to hang clothes on would be useful.

Drove passed this place a few times so decided it was time to turn in and give it a go lol

Lovely site with fantastic views of the peak district

Toilet and shower block nice and kept clean, showers nice and hot.

There's 3 walks straight from the site to various villages and along tissington tail

The staff were very friendly and helpful

The pub is dog friendly and the food was home cooked and amazing.

The only thing I will say is there is a fair bit on road noise during the day and into the evening as the main road is very busy until the early evening, but don`t let that put you off trying this brilliant site.

We will deffo be going back soon as its on our doorstep :)

Bridget and Gary very welcoming and have a warm and cosy public house to match. Food above average and staff very accommodating.

Showers free and clean as were the toilets.

Good walks for ramblers.

Well worth a visit.

Well done Bridget and Gary
