 A lovely quiet little site for adults only. Follow the owners travel advice as coming the "wrong" way is very narrow. Level pitches with water and EHU (metered).
The owners are very friendly and full of helpful advice.
The nearest pub (Holly Bush) is very friendly (dog friendly too) with good beers and a comprehensive menu - it is around 25 mins walk via a public footpath. Train access is also easy.
There are a number of small country parks nearby (by car) which we found great for dog walking.
I think a couple of small changes would make this a "10". A washing up area would be helpful and a "local info" noticeboard would help for when the staff are not around.

Lovely peaceful and friendly site. Large field for dog walk. Toilets very clean.
We really enjoyed our night.
Nice walk to the castle ruins and the village.
Lovely little bakery and cafe just down the road.
Electric metered. Had all services needed. £20 per night plus £1 for the dog.

Massive thanks to Dale and Julie for accommodating us at such short notice.
After a disappointing 1 night stay at another site (in my reviews)we arrived here for a 3 night stay.
We were met at the gate by Dale who showed us where to pitch up.
We had lovely views of the surrounding area from our pitch.
The site is friendly, peaceful and well maintained.
Pitch prices are very competitive, £20 a night plus electric (£10 for us)
Toilets and showers are spacious and clean.
Nice walks all around including the ruins of a castle.
Lovely and friendly village.
Owners very informative of the local area
We will return.

Very nice site, easy to access as long as you follow owners instructions 😀.
Toilets and showers very clean.
Friendly owners who were only to pleased to help and give information about where to go and what to see.
Good dog walks around site.
All in all a lovely peaceful site, would recommend to others no problem.

Excellent adults only site. We booked at the last minute to make the most of the late summer weather.
The site is great, extremely well kept grounds with 16 amp pay as you go EHU and shared water tap between two pitches.
Julie and Dale are a lovely couple and couldn't have been more helpful.
Dale lent us chocks for the van as the pitch was very slightly sloped and Julie gave us some great tips for eating out. She recommended the Holly Bush but it was so warm we didn't fancy the walk to the train station so ordered a takeaway from Ocean takeaway instead.
We paid £16 per night plus the electric we'd used which was a bargain and a much fairer way of charging for electric rather than the blanket fee which most sites tend to charge.
The toilet and shower block was kept spotlessly clean, I spotted Dale cleaning several times a day.
We really enjoyed our weekend and will definitely be back. Thank you.

We were passing through from Scotland to dover the place is super quiet and very tidy.
Showers were fine and nice and warm toilets are also good and you can also enjoy a nice walk with your dogs.
If we are in the area we will definitely come back to this place.

We waren op doorreis vanaf Schotland naar dover de plek is super rustig en zeer netjes. Douches waren prima en lekker warm toiletten zijn ook goed en je kan er ook fijn wandelen met je hondjes.
Als we in de buurt zijn komen we zeker terug op deze plaats.

This site was lovely.
We had a great welcome from Julie and Dale came to talk and share valuable local sightseeing ideas and best routes etc.
Facilities good and pitches well kept and spacious.
Good location as well.

Just outside the village of Caergwrle, good access with a wide turn onto the site entrance.
Adults only, 17 pitches all on grass, a bit long but ground was very firm even when wet.
Ehu on all pitches, those in centre are run off splitters. Water taps on each ehu pole. Grey water and chem disposal by facility block, no moho drive over water dump.
Showers and loos look a bit run down but very clean and included in price. Electric metered, you pay for what you use on your pitch.
Very peaceful site, no road noise. Only a short walk into the village. We walked up to the castle, great views but only a few ruins. Agree with others that a visit to Honey's Bakery is a must, incredibly good home made bread and great breakfasts and snacks.
The railway station is literally minutes away and gives great access to Chester and Wrexham. Some fabulous walking and cycling nearby at Alyn Waters Country Park and Moss Valley Country Park.
Helpful and friendly owners. 16 per night, plus metered electric, dogs 1. 00 per night.
