 Owner - very helpful
Site - very clean bit sloping in places
Toilet and showers - very clean didn't use shower room but looked well done out with double shower unit
Cost - £30 seemed expensive but its going rate

This campsite is ideally placed for the visiting the Yorkshire Dales. Our pitch overlooked the pond.
The campsite itself is quiet, there is a workshop adjacent were some occasional noise which can be heard during the day, but after 5pm its quiet. The shower rooms are warm and clean.
The toilets were also clean, tidy and well appointed; we loved the hand towels! Bob the owner was very helpful, both in person and via e-mail. My only two criticisms are;
I) the washing-up area is small and outside which wasn't great in the rain;
Ii) lack of information regrading recycling, i. E. , which bins to use.
We enjoyed our stay at Herons pond and hope to return next year.

What a find! This small, family-run site offers spacious gravel pitches each with a small garden area and countryside views.
Crakehall village, with its pub and shop, is just a short walk.
The facilities are spotless, recently refurbished, and always have hot water.
With its boutique feel and tranquil vibe, it’s perfect for exploring the Yorkshire Dales.
We’ll definitely return.

This site has recently re-opened under new management. It is a small adult only site on a quiet lane not far from the village of Crakehall (which has one down to earth pub) and a short drive from the lovely town of Bedale with its cafes, pubs, independent shops, Tues market etc. So, good location and you can walk your dog round the edge of the site.
The site has 9 pitches, some with a view of the large pond which does indeed have a visiting heron. The water level was somewhat depleted due to the long spell of hot dry weather but is no doubt a bird haven when fuller.
Pitches are of a good size and spacing. Amenities consist of two WC/sink/shower cabins and two just WC/sink cabins and they are immaculate. There is one seasonal van on site tucked to one side but this is definitely a site for tourers.
The owners are friendly and helpful.
If I had a suggestion it would be to maybe provide some information on local walks, maybe on a notice board or info folder somewhere communal. However, Bedale has a Tourist Info office with lots of leaflets, maps and books.

A really lovely, peaceful site.
A fantastic dog walk and exercise field. Can't wait to go again. Thanks to Richard for a great site.
The toilets and showers could do with an upgrade but it didn't detract from the overall experience.

Our second visit to this beautiful site. Very peaceful in a gorgeous setting, 10 minute drive into Bedale or short walk along the roads path of slightly longer route through the fields and woods.
10 minute walk into the lovely village of Crakehall, where the village pub (The Bay Horse) is. Excellent dog friendly pub with good food and good range of beers.
Well situated for visiting other places - Bolton castle, Jervaulx Abbey, Aysgarth Calls and Leybourn.
Can't think of any negatives regarding this site.

After spending a fantastic week at Heron Pond Caravan Park with 2 dogs we can only recommend this site. A good dog walk (Two Acre Meadow Field) available for them to have a good run.
The site was well cared for and talking to other caravan owners stated they are regular visitors returning often.
If you want pond pitches 1-5 are the best option.
A pleasant stay allowing us to relax and enjoy the break good accommodating
Owners Richard & Jean helpful and pleasant.

Lovely quiet clean site Well maintained by owners. Good dog walk and exercise area. We will be booking up again.
Not to far away from Bedale town centre and good base camp for visiting the Yorkshire Sales.
