 A delightful quirky ecofriendly site with equally friendly staff.
Good views out to Skye and live music on a Saturday night.
The midges quite like it here but so did we.

Access to site down narrow winding road, and in high winds I found this quite scary. Our campervan pitch was down a slope which was slightly nerve racking as I noticed some wheelspin with our van when positioning.
The site itself is quirky in layout with tents in different sections, near the blackhouse. I found the paths to the shower/toilet block worrying as slippy to me but recovering from a recent fracture which didn't help.
Weather wet and windy so probably didn't see the site at its best.
Previous reviewer noted few sites in East Harris available so book well in advance.

A place of real character run by welcoming and helpful owners.
In our book this is a "must stay" site if you appreciate a change.
Single track access roads should not be off-putting as there are numerous passing places.

The Lickisto Camping & Yurts site is quirky, informal & well kept.
We were made very welcome by host Grieg who was able to upgrade us to an electrical hook-up after another customer changed their plans.
We would certainly visit again.

Loved the fact it was quirky and individual.
Toilets and showers were spotlessly clean.
Amazing pitches over looking the loch.
Friendly owners who were very helpful.
If you like manicured camping and caravan sites this is not for you. If you like organic individual natural sites - book it!

Greig replied to emails within an hour or so. They were full when we booked so we were offered the car park with no electric hook up but full use of facilities.
Thanks to a cancellation we got a pitch, which are really nicely sited on to the hill offering shelter, and many of the pitches are very disguised making it feel very different to a campsite.
It is just a lovely environmentally conscious camp. No chemicals are used so washing machine tablets are available from the house.
Blackhouse has kitchen facilities including microwave.
Showers clean and plenty of hot water.
Topped off by beautiful views of the loch from the camper and the dolphin pod visiting every night is awesome - loved it!

Fabulous campsite with everything you need.
Greig and co were so friendly and welcoming and the communal facilities were great!

Friendly welcome and shown around. The black house was useful if needed as it contained a microwave, kettle, fridge freezer. Also large communal table and sofas, also one of the toilet/shower facilities which was always clean.
The campsite is quite a quirky layout, be prepared to hand carry all your stuff to the selected pitch which is downhill from the car parking area.
I was in a small frame tent so quite a bit of lugging needed.
I had a relatively sheltered spot from the winds which over 2 days reached 50+mph with driving rain but the tent survived. Just
The ground was then quite damp around but didn't give any major problems
Lovely to hear the cuckoo and other birds without traffic or even people, even saw a deer early one morning but sadly no otter here.
There is another separate toilet with 2 shower units some distance from the black house one but if busy could be a problem however they are building more and renovating another black house, also proposing a sauna overlooking the bay!

This campsite was unique but personally felt too close to wild camping due to the set up.
The black house itself was a quirky area and the site was close to travelling around Harris
The facilities could definitely be improved including the shower as it was mouldy.

Stayed in 1 of 2 of the Brilliant cosy Yurts as my friends place was full and was not disappointed !
