 Oh God . This place is not for me!
I'm used to camping on a cliff in a deserted field in Wales - this was a nightmare.
Went with a friend and her two children. We pitched our tents and went to the beach. When we came back some bloke had pitched so close to us that our guy ropes were actually crossed!
If only we'd arrived a few hours later, they'd have opened the field by the dog exercise field and we'd have been pretty much on our own.
So busy, so many people . If your idea of camping is peace, quiet and tranquility this place isn't for you. If you're into lots of people - you'll probably like it .
On the upside the showers and toilets were amazing . Really hot showers, clean toilets, which considering the number of people was very impressive. And there's a chip shop just round the corner that was great!
For me - I'd rather have no facilities and a quiet field, but each to their own and if you're less concerned about solitude then with everything so close, the onsite facilities and good weather, you'll have a great time!

We go to this huge site every year, it's fantastic for young families mainly because of the location. It's a short 10 minute walk to the beach which is quite nice when the tide is out, there is a better beach a short 5 minute drive up the road in West Wittering which is sandy and apparently very nice, My family haven't been to this one as the local beach is adequate for my families needs. And if you are lucky enough to find the crab pools, you could spend the whole day dangling bacon off string and pulling some fairly decent sized crabs out of the water.
There are local shops selling everything you could possibly need, from kites to dog poo bags. Hardware stores selling camping gear (and at a fairly reasonable price!). Take-aways from indian to pizza (should you feel too tired after a long day on the beach), and even a mini Tescos. There are banks, post offices, grocers and butchers, all 5 minutes walk away from the site itself.
The site itself is huge, there is never any worry about space on this site. The facilities are limited but when you are 5 minutes away from whatever you may need, who cares?
There is (I believe) gas cylinder exchanges available, ice block freezing and the friendly staff will even charge phones or DVD players for a small fee.
The showers are clean and hot all of the time, launderette facilities are adequate (don't use the driers though!) and a nice play park for the kids, however it is a huge sand pit and no matter when we go, there are always some kids throwing sand around!
At night (because we always pitch by the park) it can be a bit noisy with the teenagers going in and out of the park banging the gate, but that's the price you pay for the 'luxury' of pitching near the park (for the kids)
The site does get a bit messy after a bank holiday weekend, but that is mainly down to the campers who do not see the need to leave it as you would like to find it. You get those types everywhere you go though right?
It's not the best campsite I've been to but there is a lot worse.

A really good site for families and couples alike. We have stayed there twice and we found toilet and showers very clean. A lovely play park for the children. A pleasant village nearby. Close to the beach. A lot to do for the children. We will be going again. It was a shame about the weather because unfortunately we had to come home early. Typical bank Holiday!

My girlfriend & I plus another couple stayed here for 1 night for the August Bank Holiday last year.
We arrived at Scott's Farm to be informed that 'groups were not allowed'. Being just 2 couples I felt this was somewhat extreme especially as we had booked for 2 nights. In the end our friends waited 2 hours and tried again - they were booked in. We however we forced to stay in hotel in Chichester. Next day our friends convinced us to try again like they had - sure enough they let us in.
Big mistake. Campsite was the busiest I have ever seen - Hundreds of people crammed in 5 huge fields like a festival site. All kids on the site formed large gangs with terrible language from the parents and kids alike. Facilities were okay but queues of 20+ for the showers.
Nearby is the beach so location is okay. Overall, for the money we paid and the poor experience I would advise any readers of this you if like myself like a pretty, quiet, friendly and enjoyable campsite to avoid this site.
I hope the organisers of this site read this review and others similar and seriously consider the service they offer to paying customers.

We were so relieved when we arrived here that there was space. Everywhere else was fully booked. Well the reason there was space was because the owner just kept opening another field as soon as one got full. It was like a cattle market. Cars zooming everywhere, teenage lads sitting on their car bonnets, waiting for the talent to walk out of the girls washrooms.I've never heard so much swearing.
No shop on site, so you have to go to Wittering. Big queues for the washing up area, showers and toilets as there is only one block for about a million people. No lighting in the fields, which was quite scary. Families playing football everywhere and quite annoyed when you accidently walk through their game. The play area is just a massive sand pit, which in the evening is the local teenage hang out. Absolutely no organisation, no rules, nothing.

Their pitch fees are extremely unfairly calculated - £30.00 a night (off season!) for one 'backpacker' tent and a child's 'pop-up' tent. Cheaper to stay in a B&B! The pitches are unmarked so people pitch right on top of you (suppose they can cram more people in like this!). There is no lighting in the general camping fields - ridiculous when you have small children. The shower blocks are a very long way from the 'non-electric' pitches - again, a nightmare with small children. There was dog poo dotted about and no signs making it clear if there was an allocated dog walking area. We were unfortunate enough to be there on a wet weekend and the pitches were extremely water logged - very poor drainage across the site in general. The showers are VERY hot - again a problem if you have children as there is no temperature controller. The only speed limit signs are around reception so people seem to drive very fast around the site. The staff were rude and unhelpful when our concerns were pointed out to them. A shame this is such a poorly run site considering the local area is lovely.

We stayed here on the bank holiday weekend. It was great that you didn't need to book, as the site is plenty big enough. We took friends with us and for 4 adults and 4 kids 2 cars it cost £17 per night, I thought it was very reasonable. The showers and toilets were quite new and kept very clean - we have stayed at a less busy site that cost loads more that were filthy. A couple of fields were a bit 'all over the place' but there were others that looked a lot calmer and more in defined lines - makes it easier for the kids to play games etc. Brilliantly located for lazy days on the beach with the kids. The beach and shops were within walking distance. There is no shop on site but as the shops are so close this wasn't a problem. We would definitely come back here again as it's only about an hours drive and the beach at west witterings is great - be warned though the cafe is VERY pricey.

As has been previously posted by others. Very large site with lots of people. Do not go here if you dislike kids or noise. We ended up here for the bank holiday, as our usual place was full. We are not anti kids (have a teenager ourselves) but we are anti kids out of control. Kicking footballs against the awning, playing football at 6.30 in the morning, and just generally screaming at the top of their voices.
Cons of site are: Guaranteed to get on. Excellent toilet and showers. Excellent shops within five minute walk.
Negatives: Noise, small pitches, lots of cars around roadways, prats in the tent next door who think everyone wants to here their TV and car stereo!

Curiously, seems to be located on a housing estate. Once you drive up - you'll see the campsite is absolutely huge - which is why they don't take bookings - they simply won't run out of space. At reception - the guy was nice and friendly.
The campsite is very well organised and all the communal areas were very clean. The pitch area was very open. It did feel a little claustrophobic even with the adequate distance between the tents.
There's a childrens play area and the campsite has large open field to at least one side of it. Due to it's openess - I'd recommend wind breaks to shield your stove whilst cooking. Can also help giving you a little privacy.
The beach is about 10 minutes walk. This beach is dark sand and pebbly. The better beach at Wittering apparently costs £5 a day to enter (a bit steeo!).
On the downside, a large well run campsite like this brings in its own problems - hoards of kids running around doing what kids do best. And on my stay - a large chav family from London who proceeded to drink to much and make a lot of noise into the early hours and had uncontrollable foul mouthed kids.
Overall, Scott's Farm is a large well run campsite. Staff are friendly, communal areas clean and modern. Other than the beach - I didn't find that much of interest in the local area.

Visited this site for the first time and found the site to be good,it had nice open fields where you can choose your own pitch, it had very clean washing facilities a kids play area which my kids enjoyed and whilst I was there lots of wind for kite flying.
The only let down for me was no on-site shop selling the necessaries which was not a very big problem as there was a Tesco express 10 minutes walk away, I enjoyed my time there would go back but want to try sites further a field next time

Like the earlier review we had not planned on this site but were unable to find anything else. It was a bit of a shock when we were just pointed to a field and told to pitch anywhere we liked. We stayed for four nights from Friday. It was very busy over the weekend but the toilets and showers were always clean (we were quite a long way from the toilet block, so for nigh-time use with little ones I suggest you treat yourselves to a portapotty). Tesco and Co-op are just up the road and the other local shops that sell beach type stuff were very reasonable too. The beach is great and a 10 minute stroll away. The only thing that I was a little concerned about were the cars that moved around the site we were quite packed together and you had to weave around the tents in order to find yours. That said 99% of campers were families and everyone seemed extra cautious. We will certainly go back soon.

We've just spent a weekend at Scotts Farm and I have to say that we really enjoyed our stay there. Everywhere else we telephoned before the weekend said not to even bother turning up, but Scotts Farm is big enough to chance it and when we arrived at 10am on Saturday morning, they still had lots of room. Yes, it's not as military as some other sites but dont let that put you off. We're a 30 something couple and any surrounding noise (from kids or otherwise!) wasnt really a problem whilst we were there. The staff are friendly, the facilities were busy but clean and it's a few minutes walk from a wonderful beach. We would definitely stay there again and I'd highly recommend it.

I read the reviews before our visit and it prepared me for what to expect. If you want a quiet setting then this is not for you. As a family with young children I was quite relieved not to feel embarrassed if they made a bit of noise staying up later or when they woke up in the morning! The beauty was not having to book and being able to just turn up. There are no defined pitches so you can literally pitch were you like in the fields.We arrived late on friday afternoon and the fields that they open especially for the weekend were already busy. We were worried that the friends arriving to meet us on saturday would not have space but they just opened another field on saturday morning.
Downsides - very busy and all that goes with it (queues for showers etc), the plus sides - no need to book and enough space. There is a beach within walking distance and a nice sandy beach down the road at West Wittering (be aware a 6 pounds parking fee). The shops just outside the campsite have everything that you could need. We will revisit because we do not need to book and will remember to take our bicycles next time.

Having been to several sites recently, we can say that this is certainly one of the best and that we look forward to returning soon.
The no booking policy was not a problem and although the site was fairly busy we still had several choices of pitches with plenty of room for our large tent and small children to play. Noise was not a problem for us but could see that more central pitches were a little livelier!
Toilet blocks were lovely and clean, with modern facilities and rarely any shower queues. Own handwash, hairdryer and hangable washbags for showers would be advisable.
Water taps are everywhere so very convenient!
Local amenities and beach are great and only a short walk away.
Prior to visiting (with our children, my sister and her partner) we were concerned about being excluded from the site due to the strong "no groups policy." This clearly is a concern for the friendly staff on arrival but as long as you are a family unit rather than an all adult group they seem more than happy to be helpful and in fact once on site we observed many larger families all pitched in groups.

Spent two nights at Scott's Farm on a hot and sunny holiday weekend.
On the plus side the showers are new with plenty of hot water. The site has all the facilities you need. I had a problem with my bike and no tools and the staff fell over backwards to lend me tools, help fix it and entertain my 3 year old whilst I was doing this.
On the downside there were a few noisy groups up shouting until gone midnight and it is a hectic place. Quiet chilling in beautiful countryside it is not. The rows and rows of caravans each with it's own windbreak-ed off garden doesn't do it for me.
Would I go there again? Yes, I went there for the beach at East Head and not the campsite. It's no worse than any of the others in the area. But I wouldn't opt for a long stay there and I certainly wouldn't even go there if it wasn't beach weather.
