 Very nice and clean. Nice and friendly welcome. Great Showers and very clean. Great views only 10min walk into calender and a nice walk at that. WE WILL BE GOING BACK. My 13 year old son thought it was great watching the lambs running in the field next to the site. Well worth a visit

This is a nice campsite within a short walk of Callendar, well kept with good washing facilities but I regret to say that it is not entirely welcoming. The guy at the wardens house was rather gruff when booking in and when blowing my nose with some tissue in the toilets I got "have ye no got a hankerchief?". Not what I would call friendly, and enough to make me go elsewhere.

We have spent two weeknds here and had a great time - make sure you arrive early in the evening Friday as the site can be very busy - in my experience I havent been allowed to book a tent over the phone - just told to "turn up and see". Nice bike rides and pubs (with ceilidh bands usually) and hotels with dancing to the small hours walkable to Callander - sustrans off-road bike route to Strathyre well worth doing and not too strenuous (first stretch suitable for kids).

As someone who visits this site every few months, i have to disagree with the previous reviewer.
The site is very busy and i suspect that the reason that ground sheets arent allowd in awnings, is that they mark the grass.
I have always found the manager to be very friendly and she keeps the toilets spotless.

Telephoned to make a booking in advance for this site, they told me they weren't busy, just to come along!
On arrival they then told me that they only allowed two dogs per caravan(I have three very small dogs) and that they did not allow ground sheets in awnings!
Maybe if they had taken the time to take a booking over the phone, I could have established these things and not wasted my time with this caravan site!
Not very busy - I now know why!!!
