 Stayed in a wigwam for the 2nd time and the heater was great even in August! Had a wee fridge in previous wigwams elsewhere which would have been good but toilets were clean and it was a lovely location - perfect! Staff were friendly and I would highly recommend this site. The beach is well worth it and we would visit again if in the area.

What can I say! This is a fantastic site in a great location. Feels very informal as the pitches are not set out in lines like other regimented campsites. You are free to choose your own pitch in amongst the dunes so you can opt to isolate yourself or be in a more crowded area. Even in a crowded area the owners insist that you must leave at least 7m between pitches.
The shop is really well stocked and for Highland Scotland, very reasonable.
Our two kids loved the park which is located in the middle of the site.
The toilets were immaculate and the even have a huge sink that you can use to wash babies and toddlers in. A hit with my 2 yr old.
Staff are really friendly. I would give it five stars any day!

Plenty of places to pitch up. We drove right to the end of the site, right near the slipway to the beach. We went to sleep to the sound of the waves and woke up early to them. It's light until very late and it's still very light early in the morning. Which was great because it meant we woke up quite early and felt quite refreshed (",)
The beach at night and early in the morning had lots of jelly fish about and by night the scottish mosquittos were lethal! My partner got bitten really bad by them and midges so make sure you take really strong mosquitto/midge repellent spray and the mosquitto coil.
Loved Scotland and in particular Glen Affric and would definitely go again but would make sure we had really strong mosquitto spray (",) before we go again.

A group of us (Two caravans, a tent and our little 73 VW Camper) visited this site during our tour of Scotland. The campsite staff were very welcoming and had a relaxed attitude. The shop is very well stocked with both provisions and camping equipment.
It is a large rambling site in the most amazingly, beautiful place. You don't have allocated a spaces. You can camp where you like - even in the dunes right on the beach. The beach is absolutely fantastic- a large, sandy bay that is private to the campsite.
Although it rained a lot when we were there we did enjoy our stay. We still managed a great late night BBQ. If it was sunny I imagine that this place would be heavenly!
The toilet facilities were plentiful and clean although somewhat basic looking. The laundry was well equipped with several washers and dryers and irons.
Gairloch is a lovely village and several boats trips leave from the harbour. Some of our group went evening sea fishing and brought back fish for the BBQ - fantastic! My favourite place is the Trading Post bookshop (sells all sorts but especially travel books) and the adjoining coffee shop which sells the biggest chocolate fudge cake ever seen! Enjoy

Our family have visited this site over many years and made many friends. The site is spread over many acres with no identified pitches. You park where you like as long as it is not to close to your neighbour. It is a family owned site, well maintained and has a well stocked shop on site. The site also has plenty of hook ups. Showers are free and spotlessly clean. The scenery is spectacular looking across to Sky and the outer hebrides. The village of Strath and Gairloch is only 4 miles drive where there are eating places, shops and things to do. The air is great being on the Gulf Stream. The sea is crystal clear, safe for kids and ideal for having fun on clean beaches. Visit once and you will go back again and again.

Best site this year. Huge amounts of space between pitches, so no being bothered by anti-social neighbours. Great beach onsite, ideal site for kid's cycling and more quiet roads offsite. Good shop. Mountain Cafe in Gairloch ideal bolt-hole when it rains.

We can’t express how much we loved this site and it has been the highlight of our holiday. The site is huge and there is plenty of space for caravans and tents. There are various pitches that have fantastic views and loads to choose from if you wish to be secluded, some of the tent pitches also had their own picnic tables. We planned on just stopping here for a few nights but loved it so much we stayed the whole week. The beach is amazing and the water is crystal clear, with wonderful views and spectacular sunsets.
The toilet blocks are modern and immaculate and they were well spaced out around the site. They have a pitching policy of being roughly twenty feet from your neighbour but to be honest you don’t need this as there is masses of space.
There is a great on site shop which supplies everything you could possibly need and in high season has freshly baked bread.
If you are looking for space, a stunning setting and peace and quiet then this site is for you. The only thing you can hear at night is the lapping of the waves! We will definitely be back and can’t wait for our next visit. I would definitely recommend this site to people as the site and Gairloch are well worth a visit.
I can totally understand why the other reviews have praise for this site and return each year. We don’t often return to the same site but this one is a definite for visiting again.

Excellent site - acres of room for tents. Being on the shore there is almost always a breeze which keeps the midges at bay. Large clean toilet facilities, only downside is need to pay for hot water for dishwashing. If you want a site to chill out then this is the place, the views and sunsets are magnificent! Just remember to pack your bucket and spade. We will definitely be back.

Well I have been to this campsite many times as a child. Probably totalling a couple of months. And I can say with easy that it is fantastic. It is ideal for children with masses of space to run around. The sand dunes and beach provide endless fun. You can also hire windsurf boards and canoes from the water sports centre right on the beach. This is all very safe as the campsite is fenced in and the sea is usually very calm. The main attraction to this campsite though is the nearby mountain ranges. Some excellent climbing can be done here, some of the best in the country.
I would definitely recommend this campsite.

we have stayed on this family run site many times over the last 15 years, the views back to Torridon and over to Skye are breathtaking -the site borders it's own sandy beach which is very safe for young children, there is plenty of space for them to run about - limited number of hook-ups in the dunes area for FCs and TTs but plenty of those towards the caravan area - but tent area has nearest access to beach and you really feel you are camped on the beach - listening to the sound of the waves on the shore-oh and one other advantage for those large canvas tents - it is always breezy so even on days which started out wet you are quite likely to be packing up a dry tent!
