 We arrived on Friday and went and fetched the keys
Very pleasant staff, we are on pitch 12, very clean site
Lovely toilets and showers

This site is ok, for all the attractions of Porthcawl,
we wouldn't stay for more than a couple of nights ourselves as it isn't the best kept site, and the owners should spend some money on the upkeep, instead of extending the site.

Good location to explore the local area, car needed as nearest shop quite a walk and not a safe walk with kids. The site was small but very clean with electric plug in & water.
It’s a rustic field with just water & electricity as long as you understand that’s what your getting it’s great.

There was nothing to dislike about this site it was brilliant,
Showers and toilets were very clean,
Close to all local attractions, bars, shops and the beach etc.
Staff were amazing as was the free entertainment.
Will be going back for definite.

Excellent location. Shower plug was blocked, so I was standing in the prevous person shower water.
Only one female toilet in action. Close to amenities. Porthcawl is a lovely town.

Needs a lot of work to make it nice. It is in a good location. Apart from getting keys did not see any staff on site even then they did not explain about the site.

We stayed here for 6 nights, the fresh water hose was in the toilet waste which we didn’t notice until last day! I have come home and am really unwell, maybe a coincidence but maybe due to clean water in toilet waste?!
We were allocated a pitch by the see front as my brother is blind and likes to listen to the sea, then got told we couldn’t have it and was put to the back of the campsite.
The toilets were disgusting with urine over the floor and faeces all up the toilet walls. The showers were blocked and didn’t work properly.
Phoned the high tide to let them know an ambulance was entering the site as my dad was rushed to hospital ( they wasn’t interested and said ok! Then put phone down)
Loved porthcawl but this had put us off.

We have just stayed here mid way through our 2018 tour, first impression are poor. First point of contact demanded £20 deposit for barrier key, ok not problem, I had to go back to car and get it which was blocking part of the car park off (wasn't sure we were at the right place). Went back paid deposit and was told to be off site before 12. Noon. I wasn't shown where to go how to get there where the toilets were (PORTA LOO CABINS). Where water was, chemical waste etc was just left to fend for ourselfs.
Once on site we honestly thought it was. A. Travellers. Site. Loads of transit vans etc. How ever it turned out not to be such a bad site in all honestly. Location for beach was great 2 min walk if that pubs. Clubs fun fair. Arcades shops/stalls chinese and kebab stall. Nice walk to treco park on beach 15 mins or 10 - 15 mins town plenty of shops and cafes.
Very basic site ok location needs updating but any price increase would make the site not worth it. Don't expect too much and you will be ok

Camped out in their car park for a few nights and really enjoyed it. A few people braved it on the weekend but during the week nights had the car park all to ourselves. So plenty of space for games with the dog, who loved it.
I had stayed here before and had breakfast in the Hi Tide, but sadly they don’t serve breakfast in the winter, just a paired down menu. Which was perfectly satisfactory. Traditional pub grub, with frozen chips. So basic but plentiful.
Loved the hot fresh baguettes with butter and the ham, egg and chips. I tried out their Sunday lunch, which was pretty good. Not exactly a carvery as everything is dished up to you in precise proportions. Could have done with some more roasties, but certainly plenty of meat.
Again, the sign outside said serving until 3pm, although I was probably the last to be served around 2. 30, when they cleared down. Well it is the middle of winter I suppose.
On our last night, my partner joined me and we were allowed to take the dog into a corner of the restaurant while we ate dinner. He even enjoyed a couple of biscuits off the waitress who was really lovely. In fact all the bar and waiting staff were excellent.
Really friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back. Thanks to all.

Great location for Porthcawl, afraid that’s about it! We didn’t book EHU so we’re in the 2nd field, facilities were awful. 4 portaloos and an Elsan tank, there was no water to clean this after emptying the cassette, it was filthy. Fresh water tanks located at various points on the field, had warning signs, do not drink without boiling. A huge open skip for waste! £20 deposit for barrier key meant we had to stay until the office opened next morning, would have preferred to make an early get away. Staff we asked had no idea when the office opened.

We go to this campsite most weekends through the summer, portaloo down the bowl( these are regularly cleaned but still don't smell fresh I would rather walk up to the electric site), portacabin up by the electric site, these are very clean and plenty of hot water, nice showers as well,
Friendly campsite any problems are dealt with straight away, there's a security guy who walks around until the early hours
I would recommend this campsite lovely walks the beach is right in front of you, lovely pubs for meals. The Hi tide has entertainment outside most weekends, depending on weather which is great.

Location is great, right on the beach and a pub, town, funfair in walking distance. That's about it. £20 cash on arrival for deposit for the barrier card. (Wasn't advised before hand so if I didn't have cash on me, I would've had to either tow the van through town or park up and walk. Neither would've been a good start to the holiday)
Fresh water is right next to the toilet disposal point. Dish washing area in a metal sink and drainer with no weather shelter. Toilets are a portacabin which is clean. Can't comment on the showers as we didn't use them. Music can be heard from the funfair next door until about 10pm ish, which isn't bad, just a repetitive boom boom.
If you're looking to stay in Porthcawl, I recommend Brodawal in Moor Lane. Much nicer.

My Husband and I have just returned home from the High Tide Inn campsite and thoroughly enjoyed our holiday at Porthcawl. The owner and all his staff were very nice and helpful. The site was so lovely, we were at the top end of the site, with sea views and lovely walks amongst the sand dunes with our dog.
The toilet block was very clean and tidy and was cleaned at least twice a day, with nice hot water, soft paper towels to dry your hands and the shower block also had lovely hot water and was very clean.
Everything is on your doorstep, with the High Tide Inn for beautiful meals, and superb entertainment, then there is the fair, again very good, the little shops were very good, then there is a lovely walk into the town and a nice walk along the seafront towards the jetty. Everyone we met there was so friendly, and we hope to go back there in October this year for another little holiday by the sea.

Well first trip of the year there last weekend and still love it, so many childhood memories.
Site is as has been said before very basic but with the pub, beach, fair and town all there it doesn't need much.
Noise from the pub and fair is very limited and does not go on late, whilst toilets and showers are portaloo variety they are clean with piping hot water and the male toilets have been increased size wise this year.
Took the dog for first time ever and he loved it to, was we live relatively close we will be using this for short last minute breaks over the summer.

We stayed on this site for a weekend, and are now thinking of returning for a week. Ideal if you have children with the beach 50mts away fairground 200mts or so away and great entertainment for all, would recommend.
