 I would agree with other reviews that this is a very nice , well kept clean campsite. Toilets and showers very good. Pub 5 /10 minutes away .
We arrived one Saturday for a night and had plenty of room but feel I should mention 1 or 2 things. The campsite had a strict dead silence after 11pm rule. Some may appreciate this but my wife and I thought this was a little too early and strict. By 11.05 the campsite was almost in darkness. We drank and whispered in the tent like 2 naughty children up after bedtime.
There was a bit of a pong sometimes near our pitch , possibly as we were camped next to a little beck. ( a sewage works a few miles away was also suspect ) anyhow the smell was not too bad and didn't spoil our stay.
Overall a great site for those that like peace and quiet .

This site is everything people have said and more, the owners will do anything for you, they even looked after a friends two dog's while she had a couple of hours in York. We are fairly new to camping but this is the best site I have visited and we are already planning our next trip. Also must mention Bridlington's south beach which went on for miles and the dogs had a fantastic time, the fish and chips were great too.

A very good site with very clean facilities. We arrived on a Friday evening and one of the site owners showed us to our pitch which is very helpful. The site owners are very friendly and are very knowledgeable about the local area. There is a Toilet / Shower block which was always clean and tidy. The waste disposal point was well thought out and there was even a dog shower! There is a shop on site and a pub just down the road. There are many places to visit whilst staying here including the city of York which is very close - would advise using the many park and rides as parking in York is quite expensive and there are not many car parks which 4x4 vehicles and people carriers can get into due to height barriers. The one car park that I found which didn't have a height barrier was very tight to manuvere anything bigger than a Mini. There is also the North York moors in easy reach of the park plus there is a aviation museum close by. There are many retail parks in and around York for the shopaholics amongst us! There is also a 'River Taxi' which leaves from the lock which is right next to the park and goes into the centre of York. When driving to the park from the A64 end be aware that there is a sewage works about a mile from the park which pongs a bit! but i'm happy to say that you cannot smell it at all around the site. I would recommend this site to anyone who wants a base for touring round North Yorkshire.

Super nice owners super clean well kept site. Toilets/showers are amazing as is the piped music! Nice situation, Best site I have been on in fifteen years. Close to York nice walks and nearby lock has electric hookup and mixed camping also adults only section. Shop on site and nearby Pub

First visit to this site but certainly not the last. Site very well laid out and well maintained, with excellent facilities, plenty of electric hook ups and water points. A visit to the weir, only 100 yards away is a must, as is a trip into York on the riverboat.
The owners, Catherine and Peter are very helpful and help ensure your holiday is enjoyable and relaxing. Site is easily accessible from the A64 which also allows for easy access to the whole of Yorkshire.
I would recommend this site to anyone looking for a carefree, relaxing and enjoyable holiday

What a fantastic oasis, within a short distance from York. Great walk along the canal side, clean, friendly, very good shower and toilet facilities. We will be back as we are only an hour or so away, and can and have recommend this campsite highly to anyone of any age.

First time out this season and first time away from the lake district where we usually go. And we were not disappointed what a great site, very clean , very nice people who own it. The pub down the road is fantastic not too modern and not too old fashioned the food is fantastic and the portions are huge. But when going to the pub dont make the mistake we did and think you can get to it along the river, go via the road it takes 10 mins max, go via the river it will take you 30 mins through a jungle and a quick run through private land.

Very large pitches. Adult only area.
Nice location next to Naburn Locks. Easy to get into to York, there is a water-bus, two Park & Ride sites and bus stop outside the gates.
On site shop, but there is a 24hr Tesco about 10 mins away.
Facilities were clean. Owners pleasant and helpful.
Would definitely return.

We've visited this site twice already this year and I am sure we will be back time and again before the season is over. It has 2 tent fields a rally field and an adults only section, so there's some where for everyone. Owners always friendly and happy to help,plenty of warm water for washing up, and warm showers. Heated toilet / showerblock is always clean and tidy. And there are nice walks by the locks.

This a lovely, peaceful,friendly site. The only site I have been too that play music in the toilets, which I thought was great, wakes you up in the shower! The owners were lovely and friendly, they could not do enough for you, even opened up the shop when I ran out of coffee. The site is spread over several areas, with a seperate area for tents, also a rally field, so you will always find a nice little pitch. We will go back to this site whenever we are visiting York, or when we want a nice relaxing weekend (minus a 13 yr old !).

Very pleasant site. Easy access to either park and ride or the water-bus into York. Good showering facilities which are kept very clean. Pleasant and very helpful owners. Excellent electric hook-up facilities. Small well-stocked shop on site. Will definitely be visiting again.

we have just returned from a most pleasurable stay at Naburn Lock. This may we say, was one of the most relaxing and enjoyable sites we have been to. It is an exceptionally clean site with outstanding facilities ,toilets and showers are to a very high standard and are well maintained and cleaned regularly.
The site is situated only a few minutes from York with plenty to see and do for both families and adults. The site itself although close to york still as a rural feel to it with lovely riverside walks and a local village pub. The owners of the site are a lovely,friendly and helpful couple who made our stay even more enjoyable.

I really like this site. The end of October in the rain does not show every site at its best, but the welcome was very warm, the site had just the right balance between a bit of life during the day but silent at night. The land drained OK and the setting is superb - a cycle ride into York along the Sustrans route along an old railway line, or through the milky way toward Selby (you will have to look that up - but a 10-mile route that is spot on for children. The river is a 2-minute walk away as well. I was not offered a bed for the night, but was lent a gas ring when my little cannister ran out. Thoroughly recommended

I can't add to what's already been said really. Excellent site. We were with the Renault Trafic club rally and it was perfect for the 29 or so vans that attended and we took up most of the main field. There are other, smaller, fields around around it with half a dozen or so pitches and an area for adults only, which I thought was a nice idea. The pitches are a good size, too.
The toilet block is cleaned twice a day - 11.30 in the morning and again last thing at night - so is spotless all the time. Excellent free showers with loads of hot water. We will definitely be going again.

Been to this site in August and last weekend. Lovely site. Good sized marked pitches. Music piped into spacious clean toilets/showers. Well stocked shop and really friendly, helpful staff. Used the bus, from the site a few times to visit York. Chip van visits on a friday night, VERY NICE! A good walk along the canal, watching the boats. Been twice, will definitely visit again!
