Lovely location next to the river, close to shops and restaurants. Brilliant to have a swimming pool on site.
The only down fall is that there is little cleaning done if any at all. The swimming pool disabled shower cubicle, toilets and changing room are not clean. The Campsite toilets and shower block are also a big let down too.
During the summer holidays, every summer that we have visited, there tends to be a very large group of friends/ campers who take up half of the plots and it can feel like they dominate the place just by their sheer numbers.
After everything I've said, we still like to visit there every year, but we know what to expect and it's nice just for a few days. via mobile
Fantastic long weekend stay with 2 boys aged 5 and 6.
Lovely quiet tucked away site with outdoor pool and splash park - river easily accessible just a short walk through park with a small beach area ideal for the boys.
Toilet blocks in need of a good strip out and update but usable.
I used to live in the area so was very pleased to be able to bring my husband and boys here to where I used to mess about on the river 30 something years ago!
Will definitely be returning to this site - it may not be everyone’s cup of tea and if you are used to the large commercial Haven sites then this may not be for you. But for us good large pitches for our 24ft caravan and everything easily accessible!
The only reason I scored an 8 for site facilities is purely down to the shower blocks - no access code, need updating and cleaning, a lot of use by off site using pool and river, but with wearing crocs in the hot powerful showers job done! via mobile
Unfortunately we never got to stay at bridge villa as due to the current situation with coronavirus our party was to large to accommodate, which we understand. but I have been camping there for over 50 years with my family,
Absolutely a beautiful site, a second home to me, hopefully will be able to go back soon, can’t wait via mobile

I’m sad to report that I was disappointed with the amount of rubbish left lying around the site and particularly by the toilets and the river.
Also, the family opposite us were incredibly anti social. They were gathered in one tent and were arguing and talking at the top of their voices until 5:30 am this morning. This was quite distressing for myself and my young son, we were both kept awake as I’m sure most other campers were, all night. At 2 am I had to go and ask them to lower the noise level as there was so much arguing and the swearing was unbelievable. They apologised and lowered their voices for a while but it soon escalated again and the shouting and swearing was horrendous. I also then heard them being very rude about me even though I’d asked them politely.
I know this incident the fault of the staff but it really ruined our trip, it was our first camping trip. The anti social behaviour of that family had really marred our weekend and we are both exhausted and sadly unsure that we would return which is a shame as the site is ideal next to the river, splash park and pool.
I hope these comments can be passed on to whoever manages the site and some positive changes can be made. I know it’s difficult as the site obviously isn’t manned over night but stressing the regulations and respect of others when campers arrive might be helpful, giving a number to call if there are any issues. I felt quite intimidated last night and it has really put me off doing it again.
Anyway, on a more positive note the Better staff there were great and couldn’t have been more helpful. via mobile
Stayed at Riverside Park and Pools on Saturday night. For the money this is an amazing campsite. 5 minute walk into Wallingford where you have Waitrose and a no of Pubs. Vehicle access is by a gate with a code, so somewhat private. You're directly on the river with easy access if you want to paddle or launch a kayak.
There were only 3 other visitors when we were there so it was peaceful - with the exception of some noise from the pub across the the river where you could hear some music from the bar.
There is a block with, washing up facilities, hot showers and loos, etc accessed by a code. They were in reasonable condition considering that it is not actively manned. There 18 sites, 15 with power hook ups if you book them. It is right next to the Pool area, where there are more showers and changing rooms, and a nice heated pool which you need to book.
I never understand when such a great place is provided at a low price why is it that it gets no respect? If you want a peaceful night here, hope you get rain as we experienced both and the no rain night was noisy well past midnight. We may have been unlucky but the rules were being broken all over and as there is no one on site I think liberties are taken. At £14. 50 per night fantastic.
On the banks of the river Thames, few minutes from town centre including a very modern waitrose. Great river service from Salters steamers to reading or abingdon. Lots of hot water (must have been as someone left them on full blast). Bad points was make sure you wear. Crocs for the showers as hard for staff to keep clean, unruly site. We really liked it but cannot go back as lack of sleep on 2nd night spoilt it.
Very disappointed in this site. Location is great but the facilities are really terrible. We stayed with our toddler for the Bunkfest weekend, when we arrived there was no-one on site, the toilet block code we'd been given was wrong. The toilets had no toilet roll and were filthy, toilets & showers were not cleaned all weekend. The hot water from the showers was so hot we couldn't stand under it. My husband got a shock from one of the showers and reported it to a lad that had only been working there a week - apart from him we saw no-one.
It's a real shame as the location is great and there's a pool and fountains for the kids. With some attention and management it could be a nice site.
A very pleasant little campsite, right next to the river. Very much in the style of a French municipal site, being operated by the local council. More than adequate facilities, and the small town is just a few minutes walk away. I only stayed for one night so cannot comment in great detail, but I would definitely return for a longer stay.
