Access is a bit tight to get in. We had a 7m rig and had to do a small shuffle. Caravans are not allowed for this reason. Small Campers would have no problems though.
Nice facilities too.
Very quiet and a nice drink and meal in pub. Good stopover place.
What a wonderful find, the Masons Arms, lives up well to all the reviews on UK Campsites, That is where I find all the good sites, with the star rating & lots of members reviews.
The site has seventeen pitches, six off the main field which are hard standing (gravel) that are used all year for camper vans.
There are just 11 pitches on the main field, the pitches are huge, many have electric hook ups (16 amp). So you have lots of space, which was so good with Covid still present.
The facilities block is located the end of the pub's guests rooms, these were un-sex with two toilets & two showers. The showers were really good, nice & warm. The site was fairly busy for September, always 60% full, but never had to wait for a shower during our eight day stay.
The Mason Arms is in the very small village of Lower Odcombe, about three miles from Veovil, nice & peaceful. The Masons Arms is a grade two listed building, oldie world & well kept. We were made very welcomed by the friendly staff when we arrived, was shown to our pitch & told where the showers were & to pop into when we were settled.
The advantage of camping behind the pub, we could have a drink & or a meal & neither of us had to drive, what a wonderful bonus.
There is plenty of lovely villages to look around many olddie world, we also visited three Nation Trust houses & gardens. Our eight days went far to fast, we were blessed by the wonderful September weather.
Just two suggestions to make this a perfect camp site, use a mower that collects the grass, it would help by not taking grass into your tent or the showers, the second improvement would be to have a few water taps on the main field.
But having said that, I will be recommending this site to all my friends & family. We hopefully be returning to the Masons Arms in the future.

This was a fabulous little site. Immaculate facilities, very friendly. Lovely food in the pub and different outside/inside seating areas if you wanted to eat there.
Has around 30 pitches covering camper vans, tents, caravans etc and they also have a delightful shepherds hut for rent.
Dogs are very welcome with a small dog walking field and a special bin for poo bags is provided.
Village was lovely for a wander, and a small farm shop just up the road for your veggies etc, with another house nearby selling eggs. Owners are lovely.
Everything you would want from a perfect site really. (Unless you like the really noisy type)
Would definitely book again, and certainly highly recommend it.
A wonderful small site tucked behind the thatched pub. Grass and hard standing pitches with EHU. We had 2 meals in the pub including a lovely Sunday roast.
There is a farm shop at the end of the lane and its an easy walk, just over a mile, to Montecute House NT, definitely worth a visit.
Overall we were very impressed with the facilities, the price and the friendly welcome.
We would definitely use it again. (can't really comment on how child friendly it is although there's plenty of room to play in the field) via mobile
This award winning Adults Only campsite has a working 17th century watermill in a peaceful wooded valley within the Exmoor National Park. Grass and hardstanding pitches, all set beside the River Exe or the sparkling mill stream, with electric, water, drainage, and TV hook-ups. A leisurely stroll up to a weir, and an area where dogs may run free and splash in the river.
Facilities include the beautiful dog walk, free wifi, fishing, modern toilet and shower block, dog wash, working watermill (tours on most Sunday mornings), salmon pass on the weir, shop, bus service, and excellent pubs in the locality. The site has beautiful views, an abundance of wildlife and many footpaths leading directly to the Exmoor woodlands and rivers. Find out more here
A lovely site with good facilities at the rear of the pub, enjoyed a couple of the real ales there, can't comment on the food, but know it was fully booked for the Sunday.
Walked to the Nelsons arms at Stoke sub Hamdon on the hockers hill track ( 1hr 15 mins there ), and another day to the Phielps Arms in Montacute ( the best and biggest hunters chicken ever, and great steak and ale pie) about half hour walk a lovely village.
Overall really like this site just wish the pub was open Monday to Wednesday as well! Would definitely return. via mobile
Stopped here for a couple of nights to meet up for a couple of birthday celebrations so we could eat in the pub.
For a little pub site, the facilities are good and the couple of pitches we were on, were nice and level. A couple of the others looked a bit sloping, but nothing chocks wouldn't sort.
There is some great walking to be done from the site and very easy to follow the paths if you have the OS app. We did a nice 7-ish mile walk taking in Ham Hill Country Park, which offered some really nice views.
The pub was very good, offering excellent food, good beer and friendly staff. They also offer takeaway if you didn't want to eat in the pub.
All-in-all a good little site and nice pub that we'll return to.
What a lovely site! Stayed her for four nights over a bank holiday weekend. The pitches are a good size. Our pitch was completely flat. Others were slightly sloping but not so much to cause problems. We were not charged extra for a pup tent. They said as long as we stay within the pitch they didn’t mind how many tents we put on there, which was quite refreshing.
We had a very warm welcome from the pub. The pug is great and has the added bonus of its own micro brewery. The food is quite pricey but very very nice. We ate there one evening. It was fine for older children (ours are 13 and 11) but I’m not sure it would be great for young children as the pub has a very adult feel to it. I think people visit for a bit of peace.
The toilet/showers (unisex) were clean and spacious. There is a washing up area, iron, ironing board, hairdryer too.
Although the site was full With a mix of families with and without children it was so peaceful. By 10pm it was so quiet and stayed that way until morning.
There’s nothing on site for children (except WiFi!) but I think this adds to its charm. I don’t think they want to attract campers whose children are running around late into the night.
Really well situated for National Trust properties.
I would definitely return.
