My husband and I have spent about 4 weeks this summer at Woodland View, and we cannot fault it, The owners and their daughter are so friendly and helpful. We are storing our Caravan at Woodland View also my parents are to. We find it so relaxing and peaceful being an adult only site. While looking at some of the reviews we where shocked to see a bad one, as they said that they had spent £7 in 3 nights on electric. We have spent 4 weeks here and have averaged between 80p to £1 a day that's with using everything so I don't know what they would have used to have cost them £7 in 3 nights.
This is a hard working family who have put a lot of work into this site in the short time that they have been there.
We would recommend this site to anyone who would like peace and quite and a relaxing break, we are looking forward to going back next year.
We stayed at this campsite for 3days because it was adults only. We were met by the owner who helped us reverse into our pitch between two trees. Unfortunately, we were also met by his terrier who yapped all day long and who they seemed unable to stop barking.
Apart from this, the site is very quiet and relaxing. The toilet block was clean as was the site and the description on their web page accurate.
We take issue with just a couple of things. Firstly, one has to but electricity cards at one pound a time. During the 3 days we were there, we spent £7 on electricity. Our on-board meter registered just over 3kws, or roughly 60 p of electricity. Secondly, one must pay for the shower. Just 20p, but again, the actual cost would have been very much less. Our understanding is that there is a maximum rate for the resale of electricity, far less than that charged. Thirdly, there were only 2 toilets and 1 shower in each of the men's and woman's block. Not much for a relatively large campsite. Finally, although this is meant to be a touring park, over half the caravans on site appeared to be semi-permanent which gave the feeling of it being rather deserted during mid week.
Just returned from a long jubilee weekend break at Woodland View. Our first outing for ages! and what a little gem of a site this is, owners could not be more helpful or friendly.
Site is very well maintained and the showers etc although basic are kept to a very high standard. Owners are making improvements all the time and are open to constructive ideas from campers.
Liked the idea of pay as you go electric don't worry it works out cheaper!
The surrounding area is a delight with the cuckoo trail just a step away and the village just a short walk away would recommend a visit to the 'lakeside cafe' great Chef and wonderful walks!
If you are looking for a peaceful break in great surroundings this is the place. Liked it so much that we have left our van in storage here so we can visit on a regular basis. Give it a try you will not be disappointed!
Just stayed for one night, wish we could have stayed longer. The site is very clean and well maintained.
The toilets, washing up area, and laundrette are all together in one block and being a small site you are never far away from these facilities.
We found the owners of the site very friendly and helpful and made us feel most welcome. This site is ideal if you like cycling or walking as it is only about 100 yards from the cuckoo trail.
It is also a very quite and peaceful site if you just want to relax as it is an adults only site.
We cycled to Heathfield in the morning along the cuckoo trail which is only around six miles there and back, and in the afternoon cycled down to Polegate which is a round trip of about 18 miles.
All in all a most enjoyable weekend and we will definitely be going back there again.
Stayed for 2 nights on the very wet May bank holiday. Very few other campers were brave or silly enough to attempt camping on this very cold weekend, so the site was only about one third full, but the owners could not have been more friendly or helpful in making our stay as pleasant as possible and were not concerned that we left after 2 days rather than the 3 we had intended and they didn't look for the 3rd days payment.
The toilets are clean and plenty of hot water. Only one shower (one mens, one womens) but given that the maximum units on site is 25 this is more than sufficient. You prepay for electricity in £1 denominations. We charged our unit with £1 but only used 60p worth over two days with several uses of an electric kettle, some lights, an electric cool box and the occasional blast from a fan heater - so very good value for money.
We cycled along the cuckoo trail from the site to the beach at Eastbourne and back. A round trip of about 34miles. It is a very easy ride, slightly down hill on the way there, although the last few miles are past a couple of industrial estates in Eastbourne, but the majority of the ride in through the countryside on the paved trail. You will go past one pub on the way about half an hour from the camp site.
The owners are making changes to the site and have further plans for upgrades in the future. They have already separated the storage field from the rest of the site by erecting a 6 foot fence which improves security and the views from the camping field. We will definitely return here and have no hesitation in recommending the site to others.
Set in 500 acres of beautiful, rolling Kent countryside. The Oast village on site is the World's largest Oast house collection and makes for a spectacular backdrop. Grass and hardstanding pitches for caravans, tents and motorhomes with electric option. Modern toilets and showers and multiple washing up facilities.
Small shop onsite and pub/restaurant at the entrance. The River Medway flows through the site, providing idyllic waterside pitches. Make the most of the location and try your hand at canoeing or fishing or simply sit back, unwind and enjoy wildlife spotting. Five minutes' drive from Paddock Wood station and trains to London Find out more here
Just stayed for 2 nights at the Woodland View Touring Park, Horam, where new owners took over just 6 weeks ago. A super Adult only campsite/touring park, very friendly/helpful owners. A nice quiet site, with clean showers & toilet facilities, and electric hookups. Only 7 minutes to walk into local village of Horam, which has a range of small shops and one pub (the Horam Inn) which serves wonderful food. We will definitely be returning to this touring park again! We were also able to take our little dog to this Park, which was an added bonus.
