'The Lodge' is essentially a single large, level green with electrical hookups along one side, but no hard standing. The facilities block is small but well-kept, has a spacious shower room and an outside washing-up area. It is quietly located off the main road, yet has a pub and a 'Jet' garage within walking distance. It sits well outside Canterbury, and conveniently within a 30-minutes-ring of Dover, which makes for a certain fluctuation and some late arrivals.
The owner keeps dogs, so the site is definitely dog-friendly, and our children loved it to pet the dogs under the owner's supervision. You will rather get in unwanted contact with free-range chicken than with the dogs if you don't want to, and they are also very quiet and well-behaved, so it should be no problem if you're not into dogs.
All the necessary facilities are in place, and in good order, just not much beyond that. While we were happy to stay for two nights, most people stayed only for one night.
