What a fantastic site. We had a fabulous holiday, staying for almost 3 weeks. The site is small and quiet, but had everything we could have wanted for a quiet family holiday. The animals kept the kids busy and occupied, there's plenty space for running around, the little woods ideal for running around and exploring. Small toilet block with one shower but hardly any queuing necessary even at busy times. Delicious home-grown vegetables were available for us to buy and it was really good for the kids to see that tomatoes don't grow on a supermarket shelf, and are much tastier when grown locally! The owners were so helpful and really pleasant. They couldn't do enough to help us whenever we needed anything and did whatever they could to make sure we had a happy and relaxing holiday. Site was the ideal base to explore this area of the country and we were close to coast, countryside and towns.

This is an excellent site if you like quite. We stayed for 2 nights and there were 2 caravans, 4 tents and 2 small camper vans. The site has everything you need, clean toilets and shower, plenty of free hot water, tidy washing up area and recycling bins. We like a small site and this has something for everyone, the pitches are large and there is plenty of room for kids to run and ride bikes and not make a nuisance of themselves, farm animals to watch and a woodland to explore. There are fresh eggs for sale along with sausages, cucumbers and tomatoes. The couple who own this site have got it right, a nice welcome and then your left alone. If you need them they are around. As stated before its off the A21 but there is no noise from the road, it's a slice of heaven in that respect, so many sites have noise from main roads.

We will be going back to enjoy the peace.

We had a wonderful stay at this lovely site for 11 nights in July. Vandra and Paul have created a little oasis of camping paradise on their smallholding, tucked away in the beautiful East Sussex countryside, yet only a few miles from Hastings and all its amenities.

The toilet/shower facilities are minimal but very pleasant and well kept and we never had to queue. The site is very quiet and peaceful, we had our breakfast each morning watching the antics of the goat kids and sat out nearly every evening at dusk to watch for the badgers coming down into the field. With a G&T in hand this was a very nice way to end our busy days.

There is so much to do in the area - our highlights would be Bodiam Castle (NT), Hastings Seafront (lots of seaside fun for kids), Sedlescombe Organic Vineyard (vineyard tour and wine tasting) and Rye (lovely little town with quaint streets, shops and pubs).

We enjoyed eating out on a few evenings and would recommend the Brick Lane Hotel and the Queens Head Pub, both in Sedlescombe, a couple of miles away, and also the Mermaid Inn and the Ship Inn in Rye. Blackbrooks Garden Centre is around a mile up the A21 and has a very nice cafe that does a great cooked breakfast.

For food shopping there is a large Sainsburys about 3 miles away, on the way into Hastings.

We would love to return one day and would recommend Riverdale Cottage to anyone looking for a quiet site with everything you could need for a lovely family holiday.

We stayed at Riverdale Cottage for 3 nights at the end of May. Vandra and Paul were really welcoming and well organised giving us plenty of information about the site and local area when we arrived. The site is well kept and the facilities are clean with plenty of hot water for washing up and showering.

Although not far from the A21 the site is in a valley so there is no road noise and it was very peaceful. Pitches are large and the scenery is very picturesque with a beautiful woodland walk. There is plenty to do in this area with the coast not far away. This is a small holding with animals on site which is great for kids. Fresh eggs are available and make sure you try Vandra's sausages, they are excellent,

This is a new site and Vandra and Paul have got the balance between rural camping and practicality just right. It is not over-developed but has everything you need. We will certainly be back and would not hesitate to recommend this site.

We stayed here over Christmas visiting family locally. We travelled from scotland. Vandra gave us a warm welcome, showed us around and could not have done more to make our stay enjoyable. This is a new site and work is in progress, despite this toilets were clean, showers hot, a hard standing was provided for us in light of it being very wet and winter! Highly recommend this site if you want peace, your own space and a friendly, sincere welcome. Even the cockerel first thing in the morning was a treat!Animals on site are well kept and would be great if you have kids. Lots do locally. Will definitely be back.

This is a brand new campsite which only opened a few weeks before we arrived. The owners are very friendly and welcoming and do their best to accommodate all requests.

We were a group of two families with four young children. The site is ideal - lots of animals (goats, sheep, pigs, chickens, turkeys etc) to keep the children amused and lots of space to play.

Site facilities are brand new and include spotlessly clean toilets, a single shower and baby changing facilities.

The site is very quiet and private - as it is new very few people know about it yet! It is an ideal location to explore Hastings and local surroundings.

We would recommend this site without hesitation.
