March 2003 I visited this site for the weekend and am in two minds about it. Despite the constant racket of the railway line and the planes landing and taking off from Stanstead and the rather somewhat clueless park attendants, we had a very pleasant time.
The toilets etc were clean and checked daily, the kids play area was sparse and about a 10 minute walk from the camping field. The club house was good with live Sky Sports and selling most main stream pints including my three favs, Stella, Strongbow and Guiness.
This site was expensive at £15 per night including hook up and when you think that the people showing you to your pitches, who when they have a completely empty field apart from two other units stick somebody about 5 metres away from us is just daft. They did try and stick us next to the club house car park initially until we said that it maybe noisy and dangerous with two young kids.
Other than my little moan, all in all it was a nice break but very expensive and noisy.

Jubilee week Although this site boasted a wealth of activities for the youngsters I, on the whole, was disappointed. The site on first glance was peaceful with a canal running one side of the site, but much to our dismay, after pitching the tent, we realised we were about 10 feet from the railway line, carrying the Stanstead Express, amongst other trains, at all times of day and night. They offer a 40 acre lake with kids rides and play areas but these areas were tatty and in my opinion unsafe for my three and seven year old daughters. The showers and toilets were clean and well maintained and the showers were boiling and unlimited.
All this aside, and the constant rain, we had a lovely break away and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Closing point would be to say, the facilities may improve as summer comes closer, but very expensive for what you get.
