 Very tidy and well looked after site.
I would have liked to have been able to reverse on to the pitch as I use my rear doors more and would have been able to have sea views.
Wi-fi is terrible!
Showers couldn’t be adjusted for temp and had to keep pressing the ‘activate’ button every 5 seconds or so for the risk of it turning off.

Very friendly staff.
Facilities were excellent and were kept clean throughout the stay.
Several water points around the park.
All pitches have an excellent view of the golf course and sea.
Lots of nice walks both ways to Sandside and Whitby.
No bad points.

Lovely site, great location for Whitby.
Bus stop outside site. A easy walk in to Whitby.
Toilets are immaculate. Used the laundry room, this too was spotless.
Friendly staff, would definitely go again

Well spaced out site with great views.
The toilets are kept clean each day.
There is a bus stop outside the site entrance and also plenty of walking footpaths.
The Cleveland Way passes directly in front of the site.

Great site, very clean and great views.
Easy walk into town via coastal walk or direct on main road.
Plenty of area around the caravan for awnings and parking car without preventing you from enjoying the views

Spotlessly clean facilities.
Very helpful warden.
Lovely walk into Whitby on the prom.
Local pub, bus into Whitby ever 30 mins.

To Find Site:- The site is on the left on the A174 just out of Whitby. It’s easy to spot from the road as you can see the caravans going up the hill from some distance. Arrivals are accepted from 2. 00pm.
Sandfield House is a large terraced site for touring and seasonal units. All pitches have a sea view. There are around 200 pitches all of which are on hardstandings of varying size, these are either accessed directly from the site roads or a short drive across grass.
There are a small number of serviced pitches with fresh and waste water points. There are two toilet blocks of a very good standard. The main one is in the centre of the site and it is here that the motorhome service point is situated. This block contains a laundry with washers and dryers.
The, new, smaller block is near to the site entrance and has a dog wash at the side of the building. Both have dish wash facilities. There are service points dotted around the site but chemical disposal is only at the two toilet blocks.
Electric points are convenient to all pitches and are rated at 10 amps and use CEE 17 blue connectors. TV reception is good if you follow the sites advice on where to point your aerial. There is site wide Wi-Fi which is free to use and you are allocated an access code on arrival. Mobile 4G signal is reasonable.
Reception sells some essentials as well as gas. We were not aware of any food vendors visiting the site but an ice cream van did call.
The site also has a tennis court, a dog walk field and a playing field for kick about sports. When booking this site, a deposit is payable and the balance is due approx. 4 weeks prior to arrival. The site does not accept tents.
This site is ideal for visiting Whitby. For the fit it is about a two mile walk into the town by taking the footpath from the site, but don’t forget it’s a steep uphill on the way back! This path takes you along the promenade and there is a nice view from the Captain Cook monument of the harbour and the Abbey opposite.
Fortunately, there is also a regular half hourly bus service in the main season from the site entrance Monday to Saturday with a reduced service on Sunday.
In the other direction the bus service goes all the way to Middlesbrough but Staithes is only about 20 minutes away on the same service.
For eating out there are numerous opportunities in Whitby. For food shopping there is a nice Co-Op supermarket next to the Railway Station in the town and a larger Sainsburys just to the south of the town centre with fuel.
The Station is shared between British Rail services and those of the North Yorkshire Railway heritage line for those who might wish to visit “Heartbeat”countryside.
Just across the road from the campsite is a golf course.

Toilets and showers really nice. Site is fairly quiet short walk into Whitby itself or bus stop right outside the gate.
Only downside was the pitch we were on should have been a Motorhome only pitch as it was almost impossible to get the van off (thanks to the neighbours for all their help) check your not on B4.

Site is clean and tidy but with only toilet and shower facilities they can not justify the £37. 50 per night pitch for two with electric without providing additional facilities.
No shop no catering or bar, there are loads of sites with these facilities but a lot cheaper.
Also there is quite a lot of road noise when it is very busy at the weekends and bank holidays.

Liked the location the facilities the friendly welcome. Did not like the cleaning times of toilets and showers, the 3 times we needed 2 times were closed for cleaning. Surely these times should be between 12 and 3. 00.
The other quite annoying problem were the barking dogs. From 7. 00 am in the morning to 10. 00 pm dogs barking at other dogs. This was quite off putting, it may be helpful if dog owner bookings were limited, the site would still be full and not as noisy for none dog owners.
I love dogs but not selfish dog owners.
Other than these 2 gripes we love the place and will return time after time.

We chose this site for its location, perfect for walking into Whitby (an easy 20 minutes, choice of promenade or road walk, or there is a bus just outside the site entrance).
Facilities were clean and roomy enough and we never had to wait. I would say that this is one of the largest sites we have stayed on and as such we felt a little hemmed in.
We didn't have the seaview we were promised when booking but found ourselves looking at our neighbours in the middle of the site.
That said it was peaceful enough, and we would return because of the location.
