Arrived at this site quite late (about 7.30pm) as we were walking and I rather underestimated the ETA. This did not bother our host and he gave us a good choice of pitches. It is a small site but pitches are a decent size, especially if you only have a small tent. Toilet/shower block not bad - quite small and even during the week when the site was only half full there was a sizeable queue for the 1 shower for each gender. There is probably not much they can do about this. I just didn't bother having a shower! The site is quite near a road which had a few trucks rumbling down it during the night, so not the quietest, but not too bad. Golden Cross Inn in only a couple of mins walk. A friendly little place. No food service on the day we were there (a Monday I think).

We must have chosen one of the best weeks for camping in an otherwise poor year weather-wise and in consequence the dozen or so pitches were well occupied by like-minded couples making the most of a fine spell. Never-the-less it was quiet and the clean facilities were not over-stretched. If the plot had been wet then certainly it dryed pretty quickly. The adult only policy seems sensible as it would be impractical to expect facilities for children and groups on this sized site. Like others we had chosen the area for walking and sight-seeing and Andrew was most helpful with suggestions and by downloading local information. We spent most of our time in the region walking the South Downs and coastal paths and loved the scenery. We were able to BBQ on site every evening but the local pub was very close and the menu looked appetizing. The Post Office and Spar Shop at the nearby garage were suitably stocked for camper needs.

My husband and I have just come back from a lovely weekend at the Old Mill Holiday Park. It is an adults only site and was very peaceful. Although there was a little bit of noise from the road near the site, this was mainly drowned out by birds tweeting and the occassional cow mooing. It is a pretty but basic site, mainly with static caravans but also a smaller, separate area for tents/mobile caravans (which is where we pitched). Hook ups are available. The toilets/shower block were clean and there was a separate utility room too for washing up. There isn't a shop on site but a few minutes walk away is a petrol station and a Spar shop, which sold the basics. Opposite the station was a pub. Just under two miles away was a pub called the Six Bells, which had live music at the weekends as well as serving food (which looked good) but book a taxi in advance if you plan to drink! Would return for sure.

Hi, This is a message from the owners, Lucy and James. We are a small family run, quiet site with only 12 touring pitches. We are adults only. We do not have a reception due to the size of the park but we do have a two way intercom which we always answer no matter what the hour. During normal working hours we always come out, greet you and show you to your plot. We are very laid back and friendly. Our toilet block has been completely refurbished for the 2007 season. Hot water and showers are free. We are dog friendly. We offer campers a quiet, non intrusive camping experience and have many happy campers that return year after year. Looking foward to another hot summer in 2007! Lucy and James

A good clean and quiet site, very friendly owners. No problem with taking 4 dogs along as long as they were well behaved. Being an adults only site it was really peaceful which was much appreciate. Would definitely go back again. It rained heavily while we were there but site owner helped us get off the field with a Land Rover when it was time to go. Would definitely recommend it.

Just 15 minutes from Ashford and 25 minutes from fabulous beaches, you'll be ideally placed for exploring the Garden of England. The park is divided into a family area, that is close to the play parks, the sports field and the games room, and a peaceful adult-only area in The Meadows, that is ideal for couples. On both areas you will enjoy five-star, centrally-heated showers, and private cubicles with toilet, hand basin, dryers etc. Laundry and campers kitchens, a large childrens playground, sports field, games room and television lounge. September 2005 Had a fantastic weekend camping at this lovely little site. Owners very friendly and there was a welcoming atmosphere. Try the food at the Golden Cross pub - delicious. They allow BBQs as long as you keep them off the grass, bricks are provided to help with disposable BBQs.

June 2005 We enjoyed our stay on this site, which was generally quiet and peaceful, being for adults only. Most of the site is occupied by static caravans but there's a small fenced area for tents and mobiles. There's a handy pub serving good food and a small shop at the garage a short walk away on the main road.

March 2005 A fantastic site! Excellent location, great surrounding countryside ideal for walks and driving distance of Brighton, Lewes and Eastbourne. The site is small but well-maintained and very clean. Usual village facilities; post office, local shops and some nice pubs. The setting is relaxed and picturesque. Lovely young couple running the site and made to feel very welcome. Thank you James and Lucy for the warm and friendly atmosphere. Will definitely book again!

September 2004 Had a wonderful time at the Old Mill Caravan Park in early September. My wife and I enjoyed some long beautiful walks in the forest. The caravan park itself has everything you need (including the cleanest toilets) and there are pubs and shops just down the road. James and Lucy, the owners were really helpful and gave us some great ideas for things to do.

September 2004 This is a beautiful campsite, which is well kept and very clean. It is an excellent base if you want to explore nearby Lewes & Eastbourne but also very quiet with good local amenities if you prefer to laze about and relax. The owners, James & Lucy are very nice and just one of the reasons we will be visiting again. Richard & Val
