Fantastic site! basic toilet and showers but hot water was plentiful! the lady who runs it is a gem and I found most people very friendly. We was trying out a new tent and this was perfect, the field was large and even through it was mainly caravans it felt uncrowned. Burnham high street was minutes away with fully stocked shops and 8 pubs! Visited the Rio cinema well worth it as 2 adults and sweets was no more then 8 pounds. The river front is also close perfect for an early morning stroll, we are so happy with our mini break we are rebooking for August.

A little Gem. Facilities old but very clean and serviceable. 2 toilets and showers for Males & 3 for the females. Most pitches are permanent with about half a dozen spare for visitors.
Ideally located at the end of Burnham High Street within walking distance of shops, takeaways, pubs & Restaurants which are a plenty. Permanent residents are friendly. No good for kids.
Roads from the A130 are very windy.

We had just acquired a folding camper and were looking for a site to try it out. We struck lucky with Silver Road. The site is a field at the back of a house. It's near to everything in Burnham being only a very short distance from the walkway with various pubs and restaurants, but nonetheless, it's still a pleasant and peaceful location.
From the point of booking to our actual arrival we received an extremely friendly and helpful response. Once at the site this theme continued, with seasoned regulars giving us brilliant help with overcoming the technical challenges faced by us novices in assembling a rather large awning. (We received similar help in dis-assembling said awning!).
The site itself is quite small, but the facilities are clean and adequate. We have 2 young children and activities such as ball games are not encouraged - there is simply not enough room - but we were advised about this in a very reasonable way, and it's not a problem in any case as there is a decent park only 10 minutes walk away.
The owner went out of her way to be helpful, lending us an extension for our electric hook-up without us even having to ask. For me me this epitomised the way the site is run and also the attitude of the regular campers who use it. I would highly recommend this site for novice campers such as ourselves, who seek a pleasant, convenient and extremely friendly location.

We stayed here for Friday and Saturday night and stayed as long as we wished on the Sunday.
A quiet charming site mainly comprising static tourers with only a few pitches available for tourers.
Shower and Toilet, laundry and fridge freezer facilities were of a good standard a little rural in character. The owner was friendly, helpful and engaging as were the regulars.
You walk off the site straight into Burnham on Crouch with good cafe's, pubs, restaurants and shopping facilities serving the sailing community and others plenty to do if you want a fairly laid back relaxing time. We were told that there are nature walks nearby but couldn't find them ourselves.
Will definitely return.

We stayed at Silver Road for one night to try our tents out. The site seems to be mostly caravans which stay there all year and the owners use them at weekends, there are not many pitches for other visitors. We found this nice because everyone was really friendly and helpful. e were 3 women with 7 kids between us staying in 3 small tents. We did think it was a bit steep to charge us £13 for each tent when we were all together on one pitch but we did use all the space up.
The toilet and shower facilities were very clean and there were 3 showers for men and 3 showers for women and disabled toilets. There was also a free hairdryer. There were fridges and a freezer which everyone used, a washing machine and a nice sink to wash up in. Overall the facilities were very good. The site is close to the river and backs onto countryside and is very peaceful, apparently there are foxes and badgers wandering around at night and there were lots of different types of birds around, the birdsong at dawn was wonderful. Burnhham itself is lovely with lots of pubs and restaurants along the river. There is a Tesco just up the road from the site and a convenience store, there is also a cinema and a nice park just up the road.
We would definitely stay at this site again.

We visited family camping here for a weekend. A small field at the back of a house, you could miss the entrance so go slowly as you reach the end of the high street. The owner was very nice and loved dogs, she insisted they had a treat every time she saw them. This site is right at the end of the town just a stones throw away from the shops, pubs and sea front. Facilities looked old but were very clean. A good place to stay , basic but ideal as a stop over if you want nothing fancy. Lots to do in area and large supermarkets , pubs and cinemas a few minutes away at the other end of the town. Will return but not sure if they take tents.
