We have been camping around this area for years and have never found this site before! mainly as the site advertises as c and c caravans only
BUT they now accept tents
There are separate areas for electric hook up and the area without allows camp fires
We found this site very laid back and yes its a short walk to the loos but there is a chemical disposal point so I would suggest taking your own loo for the night time
The walk to the loos was unique as in you have to walk across the fruit farm never done that before !
The farm shop sold everything you could ask for and I found it reasonable for the quality of goods sold there
You could pitch where you wanted, no set rules and we had loads of space and kids really enjoyed having a camp fire and going hunting for broken twigs to burn, which were plentiful, around the hedges over the big site
Very peaceful and relaxed and a short walk to the village green and local pub
Lots to see in surrounding area
We have booked to come back BUT the only negative thing I can say is there only being the 1 shower
However I only had a 5 minute wait and no one else in my party experienced a wait
I did ask the owner if he would consider putting more showers etc in and nearer to the camp field and he admitted the camping has taken off and it is something he would consider
Overall we had a great weekend here just a short drive from home and it made a change to get out in the fresh air and the kids away from computers x boxes etc and prices so reasonable

We loved this little site. It's now called Spencers farm, although the contact details remain the same.
Location wise, it's close (short drive) to several market towns with everything you could need. Really nice pub a short walk away, and a great castle (Hedingham) nearby - it apparently does jousting competitions etc throughout the summer, without these was still a lovely afternoon out.
Several electrical hook ups but this didn't mean that the site was overrun with caravans. The weather was lovely, which always helps, and a really friendly atmosphere. The site's small so it'd be worth booking in advance.
Fantastically cheap (we are used to sussex prices) - £7 per tent per night (however many people), £2 extra for tent hook up, caravans £8 or £10 with hookup. We were able to scavenge for some wood for our fire too.
Basic but clean facilities. Two toilets for shoppers (i think they're only open in shop hours) and an additional toilet (bring toilet roll) and shower open 24hour4s - they, the bins & recycling and the farm shop are about 200yards from the campsite. The shop sells most food (locally sourced), including bread, meats, snacks, alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks and wood. We managed to buy some beautiful asparagus, picked that day. There is also a cafe, although we didn't go in.

The weather was not good when we had a weekend here and this made venturing out to the shower/toilet less than attractive. Also, because of its location, 300-400 yards from the site over an unmade path without lighting, it means that younger children need to be escorted there and back.
However the loo is clean but the layout of the combined toilet/shower, together with the fact that it serves the whole (albeit small) camp site meant that it was often occupied plus the loo floor suffered from the after affects of the shower being used. An upgrade would make the world of difference!
Having said that, it is very laid back in terms of plots and arrival/departure times and therefore very relaxing.

Please let me start by saying this site is in by no way a long term stay it was merely a chance for us to use our caravan for the first time. A trek through a trough of tractor wheel furrows to get to the toilets/shower, which were a poorly kept unwelcoming shed type structure. Not warm, clean, or presentable, definitely not worth the walk. The shop itself is ok, yes it does have some locally produced products, although they are expensive, and also a freezer full of what I would call wannabee marks and Spencers style produce, which did not appeal to myself. Local pub was amazing had some great real ales straight from the barrel, very accommodating landlord and staff, so definitely give this a look. To summarise would I visit again?? No it is expensive to say the least for what it is, almost Heath Robinson style. Would I visit the surrounding area yes definitely.

This was the last campsite we found with any space on a busy weekend! But it was fine. Set in the countryside adjacent to a strawberry field we enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere.
It is only a small strip of land at the end of a pick-your-own, with a 3 min walk to the 1 toilet located next to the shop.
The shop/cafe/p-y-o are a super attraction and the cherries are fantastic!
Perhaps not the best site for a long visit, there is certainly nothing negative about this odd little site!
And it is only 7quid a night!

Although this site is very well served by the excellent farm shop the small strip of field is bland and has absolutely no secure fencing. We felt very apprehensive about leaving stuff on site while out for the day. The owners were very pleasant but just a few improvements would make a huge difference - some paving across the mud to the waste bins etc and a dedicated path to the shop and facilities. If you are looking for somewhere to sit outside your van in the evening this is not it! - as you are right next to the road with very limited views. However the farm shop goes a long way to luring us back!

This is a Camping & Caravanning Club Certificated Site. The camping area can be found at the opposite end of the farm from the main facilities such as the car park, shop and cafe.
The camping area has electric hookup, bins and a chemical disposal point. The ground is level and well drained. We had considerable rain the weekend we stayed but the area never seemed to get muddy.
The CS is on a small fruit farm that does pick your own soft fruit and apples depending on the season. There are also a couple of horses in a paddock near the camping area but I think they belong to the family.
About 200 yds away, at the other end of the farm is the centre of the business. A car park, farm shop and cafe. The shop is full of good quality produce from the local area and beyond. It's the only time I've seen Lincolnshire Poacher cheese outside of a farmers market. The shop also sold some clotted cream to die for. We decided to follow the C&CC eat local campaign and we're glad we did, the quality of the produce was superb. I think we possibly spent to much in the shop but . Whatever.
The cafe on site is well worth a visit for snacks, cream teas, small meals or the roast dinner on Sunday, which I can recommend. All excellent quality and good value.
The charges for camping depend on whether you use the shower/toilet facilities or not. We decided not to so can't comment on them. I don't even know where they are.
The local village is within walking distance, there is pub but we didn't make the trip so again I can't comment.
All in all a good quality CS which we shall return to again.

This is a very small quiet site which we enjoyed staying on for a weekend.
There is a shower/toilet which is kept very nice and clean but it is a short walk away. The farm shop is lovely as is the coffee shop, they do a superb Sunday lunch. They grow many different types of fruit and offer Pick Your Own.
A great place to relax. We enjoyed our stay.
