A really lovely site. The village (hamlet really) sits on a quiet road and the camping field is set-back another field away so no traffic noise at all. The site is surrounded by fields so no bulldings of spoiled views.
The site is located in an ideal spot geographically, being close to Battle (of Hastings), Bodiam Castle, Hastings seaside and lots of other national trust spots.
The camping field is nicely spread out and we had campfires on both nights, which are quite common on the site and the kids loved them. There is a plentiful supply of wood from the surrounding hedges.
There is no shower block but the two stand-alone toilets are very clean and roomy, with large mirrors and hot and cold running water.
The best bit for grown-ups is the country pub (landlord of the site) which sits by the road and a couple of hundred yards from the tent. It serves great food and beer, and the service was really friendly.
Stayed here for just one night but wished it was longer. It was a proper back to nature experience, we have stayed at many places with better facilities but none that felt as calm and relaxed as this.
It in a quiet village on an A road with a restaurant nearby, not too far from the coast. Loads to do but you would need a car if you want shops or entertainment.
When we booked I asked what time we could arrive and was told, whenever you want. We found the large field and could choose our spot, a little uneven but who cares! we found a level spot and put up the tent beside our motorhome.
The toilet block was actually one portable loo which was not a problem for us but could be for some. Prices were very reasonable and the owner was very friendly and welcoming.
The on site pub had an excellent menu and local real ales. There was plenty for our 3 year old to see, chickens, pigs and wild rabbits.
Very safe and quite location, far away from the road. Play area was great fun too, all in all a great place to stay and we will definitely be back.
