Stayed here August Bank Holiday weekend, warm welcome from friendly wardens, chose our own pitch, good size with water and waste and lush grass, excellent warm facilities, large showers with plenty hangers.
Restaurant adjacent to the site was excellent with good choice of well cooked food. Food and drinks prices very reasonable.
Dog walks as described on the website are not in existence, there was just one area available unless they count the rally field as one, I wouldn't let my dog use this as the grass was so long I wouldn't be able to find her mess to bag it up.
Noise from the A55 is quite loud and constant.
Odour from the cess tank was very strong, maybe as it's a new site and new installation it's not working correctly as it should do but to be honest it stank, the warden closed off all pitches local to the stench pipe but it was still very bad on our pitch 25-30yds away from it, it wasn't smelly when we arrived.
It's not really a country park, don't know where they arrived at that title. You need to drive to get anywhere.
The wardens have gone the extra mile with little things that are lacking on other sites, dog bowls placed around the site, spare poobags and scoopers by the dog walk, ashtray by amenity block, floral arrangements etc etc etc, well stocked info room.
Wifi expensive at £5 per day per email address, a weekly ticket is available but not a weekend one.
Would I visit again, probably not, when it's matured and finished off maybe.
We stayed fri, sat, sun and loved it. The wardens are fabulous, very helpful and friendly. We went to the Whitehouse bar/eatery which is literally on site food looked really good and from comments of other site people the food was lovely. It is popular early evening and for sunday lunch so booking might be a good idea we had a great evening mingling with campers and locals. The site itself has huge plots so brilliant if you have a large unit and awning etc. Water/waste etc on the plots. The toilet/showers are AMAZING possibly the best I've ever experienced, and we've been camping/caravanning etc for 20 yrs, showers are very spacious which is great if you have youngsters and need to shower them at the same time, there are hooks for hanging clothes and towels etc. There is a dog walking area and although it isn't advertised they have just installed wifi, which had good upload and download speeds I face timed parents with no problems, although we were one of the few on site using the facility as it had literally only just been installed. The wifi is an extra cost. The only slight negative is that you can hear the A55 more noticeable in the evening, however I am a very light sleeper and slept like a baby. During the day we didn't notice it at all. You are also central for so much of the north coast and in to chester, a few miles from Abergele where there are local supermarkets and not far from the sea either. All in all we'd definitely go back. The site is open so you can spot the kids easily, however there isn't a playground or clubhouse if that's what you're looking for, but most of the kids seemed to be happy running round with a ball etc
Just returned from five nights at this new site. The countryside is spectacular as are the views from the site. Landscaping is in its infancy with hedging having been planted which will no doubt soon provide privacy.
We were welcomed by the warden and allowed to choose our own pitch- these are all fully serviced and on hard standing.
The toilet block is very good- warm, spacious with plenty of basins. The toilets themselves would benefit from a hook to hang jackets, towels etc.
At present the site is very new and some of the signage is very makeshift this hopefully will be rectified and become more professional as befits a luxury site.
There is no formal reception area as yet, and as previous poster mentioned a supply of milk etc would be welcome. Also some local information leaflets would be useful.
Restaurant next door looks very nice and we were not really troubled by the music on a Saturday night.
All in all this site is well worth a visit. The location is great for trips to the coast and countryside alike.
Just returned from a most pleasurable week at this site. Upon our arrival we were met and given a full brief of the site and it's facilities and allowed to pick our own pitch.
Stunning scenery with excellent clean, warm facilities.
As one person has stated there was 'some noise' from the restaurant/club, but nothing to worry about, are people not allowed to enjoy themselves today?
The site is new and no doubt will grow, could benefit from some nearby shop facilities for milk, papers etc
Would we return? Without a doubt yes, it was beautiful!
Had a recent stay at this new site, easy to find although we did wonder if we were at the correct site when we arrived as some of the photos on the website don't resemble this site! Toilets are brand new, spotless, warm, with underfloor heating, large shower cubicles, wardens were very friendly approachable and allowed us to choose our own pitch although several pitches were out of use as they were having problems with electrical supply. Scenery is stunning but road noise from nearby A55 is very noticeable. Rules state that noise after 11pm will not be tolerated and offenders can be evicted, well they ought to talk to the on site restaurant(under the same ownership) as on the Saturday night there was a party with live band and disco which carried on until 1am. When speaking to seasonal visitors apparently this is a problem most weekends as they are promoting the restaurant as a wedding venue. Would we go back? maybe a mid week break when it is the peaceful site that they advertise.
We have just come back from a lovely Easter break at this newly opened site. Where do I start? Well the site being new has a wonderful toilet and shower block with underfloor heating, being a caravan club member and getting used to their good sites with the same it is a refreshing change from some of the sites we visit to be lovely and warm. The wardens on the site Sue and her husband couldn't have been more helpful, thanks for everything. The owners of the site were amazingly helpful as well. Our battery decided to go flat and it wasn't any bother giving us a jump start. Thanks to them for that. On the site is a very classy restaurant where we had a lovely meal, highly recommended. We will be going back again soon.
We spent a mid-March weekend at this newly opened touring site. The wardens were friendly, and very welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble and they made our stay a pleasure!
The site is set amid fields with fantastic views, and we enjoyed watching the lambs playing. As it is a new site the planting has yet to be established, but the scenery made up for that. The site is very close to the A55, which makes it an ideal base for exploring North Wales. Close proximity to the A55 does mean road noise, but you can't have both.
The White House restaurant is next to the site and serves wonderful quality food. They have an early doors offer, which was very reasonable, but it gets very busy at the weekend, so book ahead! Very popular with locals, which is always a good sign.
The toilet block was immaculate, with plenty of toilets and wash basins. The showers are also very clean and spacious, with benches to keep clothes and toilet bags dry. However, there are no opening windows and no extraction system in the newly constructed barn which houses the toilet block!
This site has fully serviced pitches, but all the services are in the far right corner of each pitch, so take plenty of hose for your waste water.
At £16 per night, for a fully serviced pitch, it was very reasonable, and I can understand why they ask for a good deposit (to deter people who book, then don't bother turning up!).
