We recently stayed at Ellscott Park over the bank holiday. The site is very well maintained; the lawns immaculate and clean facilities - showers, toilets, laundry and washing up at no extra charge unlike some sites. I would think though, at full capacity, the two showers each for women and men may pose a problem. Always had hot water though.
We had read that one of the owners could be 'intrusive' and that people felt they were being watched but we didn't experience that at all. They were polite and helpful at all times. I could imagine though that disobeying the simple rules of the site may cause some campers issues! Plenty of room for kids - goals for football & basketball hoop.
The surrounding area is lovely, the beaches at the Witterings only 3 miles away with a few pubs closer still. Shops at East Wittering are great, Tesco, Co-Op and local bakers / butchers very useful.
We wouldn't hesitate to recommend the site to anyone.

Visited Site for a week-end 29th-31st July 2011 Great site, extremely well looked after in all areas. Grass like a lawn and no effort getting the tent (awning) pegs in the ground very unusual ! Normally I seem to spend ages trying to 'hammer' them home.
Pitch fee very reasonable the site was very busy and a little crowded but no problems with noise and although there were a lot of children all very well behaved.
Our stay was a delight, we will return when in the area. We found the owners to be very friendly.

A very clean park that is well run and quiet.
However there are only two showers for each gender which in high season could make them busy.
Facilities are limited but for our weekend in early July when the park didn't seem too full we encountered no problems.
Perfect for us to get away with our dogs as they were allowed off the lead on the recreation part of the tent field.
Playing field was spacious and football or bike riding or even kite flying allowed.
We had plenty of space to pitch and also park close by on a well drained flat field. The water points are in the next field but that is only a short distance.
As a number of people have said in previous post the owner is very visible and was a bit over officious with the people pitched next to us.
We had no such problems although I got the feeling that we were being watched. Saying all that we are planning to go back next year maybe for a week in the Summer as we loved West Wittering and Bracklesham Bay that are both very close by.
It is quite a basic site with no shop although there is one 1 mile down the road that seemed well stocked. East Wittering has banks etc and seems quite lively. I
f you plan to spend a lot of time on the site with younger children then this perhaps isn't the site for them as there isn't that much for them to do.
If you like us just use it as a base and want to spend all day on the beach or walking then it is perfect.

First impression of the site was that is was very well kept with flowers etc. Near to the main entrance. On check in we were informed that payment was by cheque or cash. (A bit primitive in this day and age!)
Once through the caravan storage area we were shown to a spot in a large field where the rest of our party were waiting (well still trying to put up their trailer tents after 3+ hours). This was a large grass area providing electric hook up and drinking water taps.
Toilets were clean although slightly limited having only 2 shower cubicles that were closed by shower curtains.
Nearest pub is about 1.5 miles away. Unfortunately it was shut when we walked there.
Bus stop at the top of Sidlesham Lane, about 15 minute walk from the site providing transport to Chichester or Witterings.
Overall not a bad site but male warden did insist on mopping toilet floor in the morning while most people were using them. Even the ladies!
Somehow never quite got away from that Big Brother is watching you feeling!

We stayed in a group comprising of 12 people, in 2 tents and a caravan (us). The site is beautifully kept, no litter, grass mowed regularly and showers cleaned regularly.
A nice touch is the recreation field which had some tents around the edge, again beautifully kept and dogs were allowed off lead here - quite unusual on most sites.
The site was quite full when we stayed (Royal Wedding weekend) and although busy all other campers were very friendly. The site was quite quiet all weekend, no noise at night and very little during the day.
The toilet/shower block is fairly basic, 2 showers and 4 toilets in the ladies, again very clean and never ran out of loo roll! Be careful of the shower floors though, they are quite slippery.
Nice area to stay, near the Witterings, Chichester and Chichester Harbour which is well worth a stroll around. Portsmouth is approx 15 miles away.
A really useful village shop (Birdham) is about a mile down the road and they are very well stocked at good prices. There is a walk over the field to the shop, the warden was happy to give us directions.
The site is mainly grass which I would think in bad weather could get quite muddy. As usual in this area it was windy, storm straps a must.
Although it is hard to fault this site, I never felt truly comfortable here as the warden was very stern. We were asked to remove our groundsheet in the awning (5 hours after we set up) as it was not breathable and we all felt for the first 2 days we were being appraised!
I would visit again but not in a large group (although we were not loud and unruly - we were all asked on arrival if we were going to be!), I feel couples with well behaved children would be more appreciated.
Although we all enjoyed our stay I fell there are more amenable sites in this area.

I arrived early afternoon - reception was closed, so I spent the afternoon exploring the Siddlesham / Selsey area, returning in the evening to find things still closed and no answer when I phoned. I was starting to get worried when the owner arrived - there had been an emergency with his other occupation. So don't panic if the place appears to be closed.
Following his bicycle through the caravan storage area to a big field, I was given an EHU pitch against a line of conifers - I was the only motorhome, along with a couple of occupied caravans and several empty ones.
It had been very wet and I was asked to take care not to tear up the grass. I was also advised not to leave food/rubbish outside at night due to foxes. There for 2 nights, the weather was good but blustery. More caravans were arriving when I left on the Friday morning.
The toilet block was very clean - as mentioned elsewhere there are curtains in the shower cubicles. The small dishwashing room had a notice about being closed during the summer months at certain times to conserve water.
The washing machine and dryer were in a shed with a portable washing line and airer. Beware that the washing machine does not take coins, the power to it does, so you need to finish your washing cycle before the power runs out, otherwise you have to feed in more coins to release your washing. Due to me misunderstanding this, and then mistiming things, I ended up spending a lot more than planned!
I did not spot many fresh water taps, and only found one waste water disposal point next to the recycling area.
Due to bad timing, and possibly the season, I did not have much luck finding places to eat nearby and ended up cooking in the van the first night. The second evening I drove around to Hayling Island and had a delicious meal at Elliot's Coastguard Cafe. The place was deserted as the nights closed in.
Pagham Harbour, which can be reached via Pagham, Siddlesham and Church Norton, is a SSSI and attracts a lot of birdlife (and birders / photographers). I stopped at Siddlesham and Church Norton and the latter gave access to a big shingle spit where I found myself on my own with only the birds for company.Lovely. The road to it is quite narrow as you near the church. There is a visitor centre for the SSSI on the Siddlesham - Selsey road.
I also spent a short time walking along the sea wall at Selsey and driving through East and West Wittering but time constraints meant that I did not really get the chance to explore and find anything of interest. One day I will return and give the area a proper chance.

What a lovely park! Everything about it, including the owners, made this a perfect stay for us. Showers and toilets were consistently clean and had plentiful supply of warm water.
The site was well cared for and had excellent drainage. Everybody seemed extremely relaxed.
We chose to ride our bikes everywhere and the location was ideal for visiting Chichester and The Witterings.
We would highly recommend this site to anyone looking for a great stay.
The whole experience was an absolute joy and we will be returning soon

We were new to this site, but we love West Wittering especially the dog friendly beach so this was an ideal location to base ourselves.
Its a lovely site with well kept pitches and friendly polite owners, the facilities were always clean with 2 showers and 2 toilets for the men and similar for the women, a small laundry and washing up area which was well lit and again always clean.
The site is divided in two with an area for caravans and a separate field for campers, we didn't feel squashed in as the site was set out in a very relaxed way and our dogs had plenty of room around our pitch to wander the lengths of their leads. They also had enough room to wander around the field to exercise and all the rabbit holes kept them constantly amused.
My one criticism would be the lack of dog bin, although we bagged ours and threw it away it appeared that throwing it in the hedge was the approved method, this doesn't sit very well with me and the facility to dispose of the waste properly would be preferred.
We found a lovely carvery pub a few minutes drive away, the Anchor its on the selsey road and easily within 5 minutes drive of the site. There are local shops which we passed but mainly we bought provisions in East Wittering.
We would come again as this is one of the best locations we have found that is near to west Wittering beach.
A small shop selling basics would be useful as its a bit of a trek when you've just run out of milk, other than that we would recommend this site to our friends.

The site was ok, but ran like a regimental barracks. Site visitors were asked to present themselves to the reception, to inform of their intended visit. Even then our Son was told he was too late to come in to see us as it was 8pm.
The facilities were clean, but you were restricted to times of use, because showers were less important than washing the dishes. Most of the time the site owner was riding his bike around the site.
Weather wasn't too good (but then that is not the fault of the site) all I will say is it was very windy there at all times.

This site is the cleanest we have ever been to. Absolutely no litter whatsoever. The showers and toilets are exceptionally clean (I lost count of the times they were cleaned when we were here). OK there are only two showers in the ladies section but I did not have to queue at all and I was showering at 8am and 6pm daily.
The site was very busy (full on Friday and Saturday). No noise at night and very little during the day. There is a field for children to play so there are no footballs etc near tents, caravans, statics etc. Everyone was happy and having a great time.
About 4 miles from West Wittering beach and about 2 from Bracklesham Bay. Far enough from Chichester for it not to be busy, but only a 10 minute drive and you are there. Great for going to Arundel, Midhurst, West Dean Gardens, Petworth House.
The owners are extremely helpful and knowledgeable - ignore anyone who says they are grumpy - they are not. I only wish that we could have stayed for longer. I would definitely return and encourage anyone else to stay there.
