What a little jewel! A more peaceful, relaxing, friendly site is hard to imagine.
Having spent the previous week on the site from hell, Slindon was just what we needed to lift our spirits.
We stayed here for seven nights in May and enjoyed every minute. The warden is a lovely cheerful chap who made us feel 'at home' straight away. Our pitch was a decent size with plenty of room for the car, awning and dog-on-lead.Electric hookup is 16amp which is ample for the modern caravan (pun intended).Ok, so there are no toilet/shower facilities. We have everything we need in the van for a few nights, we may as well use them. But in the rating section below, I have taken this into account.
Loads of walks from the sight; something like 30,000 acres, belonging to the National Trust who also own the village of Slindon nextdoor to the site.
Touring-wise, Arundel castle is just about on the doorstep and is an absolute must! Brighton is a short drive away and we can strongly recommend a visit to the Royal Pavillion. Bognor Regis also makes a nice day out if the weather is fine.
If we are anywhere near the area again we'll stay at Slindon, no question!

Slindon is one of the prettiest and friendliest sites we have visited. The Warden is extremely helpful and accommodating. It is a small but perfect site for the numerous walks through Slindon Woods and beyond. I would recommend it to all, especially if interested in countryside pursuits.
There are no facilities apart from electric hookup but the pitches are in amongst numerous trees and bushes which makes it very peaceful. We have already booked a return trip!

One of our favourite sites and one we visit regularly. After a tricky approach up a steep, winding gravel track, you arrive in a cross between an a formal garden (extensive neat, high Yew hedges with archways) and an orchard (rows of fruiting and flowering trees between the site sections).
No facilities, but no-where on site is far from a water point. The site is on the edge of Slindon Forest (National Trust owned bluebell woods) and within the South Downs (declared a National Park in March 2009). It is pristine and very well cared for.
Simple provisions available on site. Excellent pubs, restaurants and shops within a 10 minute drive of the site.

A small, but very pretty campsite set in the orchards of the Slindon Estate, between Arundel and Chichester. No toilets or showers, only chemical disposal point and fresh water available, so make sure you have your own, adequate facilities, although I believe a toilet tent and chemi loo can be hired if necessary. Beautiful surrounding countryside with many walks. You can purchase a small booklet on local walks from the Site Manager's office (a wooden shack!). We stayed there whilst attending the Goodwood Revival, so very handy for that, or the Festival of Speed and horse racing at Goodwood too. The downside is that the pitches are unbelievably small and there are very few electric hook-ups, which always seem to be booked. The 20 ft ruling doesn't seem to apply here. We had an enormous motorcaravan parked less than 10ft from our awning - the way you are told to pitch is rather peculiar. A short stay is ok but not recommended for anything longer than a few days. Rather expensive (£8.50 approx per night) for the few facilities available.
