Excellently run site, spacious pitches, toilets and showers spotless, cleaned at least three times a day by a very busy lady all facilities available and kept scrupulously clean and spot on.
Beautiful safe beach, ideal for the whole family, extremely child friendly site.
Small shop on site with some basics and more local shops with in three miles at most.
Owners could not be more helpful and we will definitely go back next year
Campsite in a stunning location a few meters from a lovely Sandy beach, with a lovely coastal walk at the end of beach also a lovely wee harbour in the village.
Campsite is very clean and well kept.
showers and toilets were very clean, cleaner in regular. Good washing facilities for dishes and laundry.
Small shop on sigh for the basics.
Will most definitely be returning to this sight making our stay longer next time.
We are two adults and two dogs in a tent with an electric hook up.
Location:- This campsite has a fantastic location to either relax at or to explore this fabulous coastline. The beach is adjacent to the campsite and if, unlike us, you don't want a hook up, there are pitches overlooking the beach. We had a number of BBQ's on the beach and enjoyed the sunsets. The pitches were very flat and it was easy to pitch the tent.
Facilities:- There were lots of toilets and even though the site was busy for the last weekend of our stay we never needed to queue for the toilet. There were two showers and you need to have a card to power them, this was free. They are timed but there was sufficient time to have a decent shower. The dish-wash area was under cover and there are two sinks to use both with hot water and lots of space. We did not use the laundry facilities.
Dogs:- This was a very dog friendly site and the beach was fabulous for both morning and evening walks. There were coastal paths walks either side of the beach - both lovely and with hidden gems along the route.
Overall summary:- On the week we went there were very few people there and the site was idyllic. The last weekend was a Aberdeenshire Bank Holiday and the site was very busy with families that obviously knew each other. We would visit this site again but would avoid the Scottish Holidays to ensure we had the peace we enjoy. The owners were absolutely fantastic, very helpful and informative about the area.
A very friendly and welcoming family orientated campsite.
Only metres from a beautiful blue flag sandy beach, which is perfect for everyone, kids to surfers of all ages. There is a coastal path for walkers [only a short 30/40 mins to Portsoy]. Lovely little harbour in village.
Spotlessly clean showers, washing facilities, dish wash and laundry. The camp site is very well kept, the lawns are always short and tidy. Dogs are allowed on leads and noise is discouraged after 10. 00. Hook ups are available.
Handy shop on site for the basics, fish shop in village open very early till 11. 00am. Portsoy and Cullen have the usual selection of stores, bakers, cafes, icecream shops, fish and chip shops etc.
What a great location for our first family camp! Lovely site, quite small so great for the children to roam about without being out of sight. The owners were friendly and helpful, the shop was just right - even providing our most popular holiday purchase, boogie boards!
There is plenty to do in this are for families - lots of beaches, incl the lovely one next to the site; the lighthouse museum, Macduff aquarium, farnimg museum, dolphin centre were some we enjoyed.
Good fish and chip shop in Portsoy and good ice-cream shop too.
A lovely, clean, quiet, friendly place; we had a great time, on the beach every day, recommend it to all!
Stayed here in July 2012, the price in July for caravan & 2 people was £20 per night
This site is around 3 - 4 miles outside portsoy, situated in a lovely village. The only shop in the village was the campsite shop, but to be fare was very reasonable for its goods.
The owners of the site are very friendly and helpful, the site is right next to the sea, although a lot of the pitches were situated behind a large dune, so a sea view was not really available, I say that but there is a small section of the sites which does have sea views although, I guess it fills very quickly.
Toilets are very clean and tidy no issues in this department, although £10 deposit is required. Dishwashing facilities are available, although out of two sinks only one had hot water.
We had our visit curtained due to an unforeseen event at home [nothing too serious], and intended staying longer, we enjoyed our stay and would visit again.
This site was recommended by a friend and we initially booked it for 5 nights and because it was so fantastic we extended our visit.
I cannot understand why this site is not well known and when we visited the site in August it was pretty quiet.
There is a mix of static caravans, tourers and tents. This site sits right on the most amazing beach and in my opinion is one of the best in Britain.
Every night we took a walk along the immaculate beach and walking in the water on a perfectly sandy beach is bliss. The beach was empty and we had it to ourselves almost each night. The perfect end to a day!
The facilities are immaculate and great care is taken by the owners to keep up the high standards.
You need a key to enter the shower/toilet block and there is a £5 charge for the key, we had assumed that this was a deposit but didn't get a refund, this may have been misunderstanding on our or the owners part. This is a minor point but if there is a non-refundable charge for the key, then it would increase the cost of the overall stay.
This is a 10amp site and as new caravan owners we didn't realise how this would impact us until we blew the box a couple of times and realised that our kettle was to blame. The owners were lovely and reconnected us with no problem.
If you are looking for a supermarket then the Tesco in Buckie is really convenient. There is a co-op in Cullen for the basics. There is also a really terrific deli just as you enter Cullen and the food is delish! The fish and chips and ice-cream in Cullen is also delish.
The owners give you plenty of ideas on walks and things to do in the area and really are the perfect hosts.
Just a pity that this site is not open all year round, we cannot wait to go back!
First went to this site when I was seven years old. Returned this year at the age of 46 with my own kids and found that nothing has changed.
Site is right on beach and due to the wind when we were there the surf looked amazing.
Site facilities are of a high standard and well maintained with regular cleaning.
The place gives you a feeling that you are part of it therefore most people tend to be tidy and respect other people and their requirements. Great site for a peaceful chillout holiday.
Fantastic beaches at Burghead only a short drive away.
