Just back from a week at Streethill campsite- what a lovely site. Clean, spacious pitches, very laid back with no written rule and regulation guide.
The toilets were tiled beautifully, with underfloor heating- (2 for ladies, 1 disabled and 1 for men) and shower block was immaculate, the laundry area was excellent also.
Maybe 1 toilet for men could be a problem if site was busy!?
Pitches were level with both grass and hardstanding, site was very peaceful with just the odd helicopter overhead, the baa of a sheep and the hum of the combine harvesters-bliss!
Great for cycling around the Broads-all fairly easy with main roads avoidable.
Great pub in village with new owners, village hall showing the odd film and all sorts of activities-especially if you like Brass Bands-The local band rehearse there twice a week!, also village store 300 yards from site.
Only slight niggle was drinking water being so close to toilet sluice.
The weather was fantastic which helped, but we will definitely be returning come rain or shine!
This is a great site which is well maintained and very clean in a great location. The site has 20 pitches around the edge of the camping area leaving a nice big area in the middle that can be used for the children to play games. The toilets are kept very clean and there is only 1 shower (although there was very rarely a queue and if there was a queue it was only for a few minutes).
The surrounding area has lots to offer with boat trips, steam train, craft barns and petting farm all within 5 miles or so of the campsite. There is plenty to do to and see and the tourist information in Wroxham was very helpful with leaflets and ideas of places to go.
I would definitely recommend this site and the area for a family break.
We have just returned from a week at Street Hill Farm and confirm they have the nicest toilet and shower (yes there is only one) I have ever seen at a campsite. Beautifully tiled, with underfloor heating and always clean. I only queued once for the shower. There is a utility room with washer and dryer, this is coin operated.
Only one criticism, there were to many air fresheners in use. I counted 7 in the ladies toilets one day, a little over powering for me.
50% of the site was occupied, mainly with caravans, whose owners kept to themselves. It was therefore a little too quite for us and our 13 year old son. There was plenty of room for ball games but no one to join in.
Good sized pitches and friendly owners. EU on every pitch.
Village shop is open and although we did not use it I popped in for directions and the produce on display was varied and not just run of the mill stuff.
We would recommend a cycle ride to Wroxham (3 miles) and then follow the Burr railway line. Try hiring a boat -Finways was excellent really friendly staff and they locked our bikes up for us.
Chinese in Wroxham was also very good.
Further afield in Norwich, which is certainly worth a visit. I suggest you park and ride, cheap and easy.
This is an absolutely lovely little campsite. Enormous pitches and great facilities. There's a pretty new toilet/shower block that is modern, clean and really well fitted out. Worth noting that there are only a couple of toilets and one large shower room but this is fine for the size of the site and we never had an issue with queueing, availability etc during the week we were there.
The site is close to a couple of small villages and the town of Wroxham. From there you can hire bikes, canoes and boats and explore the Broads. Would highly recommend this to make the most of this beautiful part of the country. Lots of nice flat, quiet roads and picturesque villages make bike rides a pleasure. Wroxham is your best bet for pubs, restaurants, takeaways but there is a local pub that's worth a visit in the village.
The site owners are happy to give you tips/recommendations. Would not hesitate to recommend this site to anyone looking for a quiet weekend/week away.
Just returned from Street Hill Farm and will be returning next year. If you are after peace and solitude then this is the site for you! The couple who run the site live adjacent to it and are always on hand to help and advise about the local area. The pitches are flat with electric hook up and are set within their own boundary. There is ample room for a large tent, car, table and chairs etc. The shower and toilet facilities are immaculate with a constant supply of hot water.
The local village has a great pub, The White Horse where dogs are welcome but sadly the village shop has closed down, so you have to go to Wroxham for your shopping/provisions (its only 5 mins by car). There is so much to do in the area to keep you and your family occupied. Have a look in the reception office on the site and help yourself to the leaflets about attractions in the local area.
We have been camping now for over 20 years and I can honestly say that this is the nicest site we have ever stayed on. Just one thing, the couple who run the site are working hard to make the site what it is, please remember to pay them as some people have done a runner in the past. They cannot extend the facilities if people are not paying and the prices are not at all expensive in the first place!
Just returned from three nights at Street Hill Farm, what a lovely site. The owners have put a lot of trouble into the design of the new site and toilet/shower block. The toilets are kept spotlessly clean, they have underfloor heating and are fully tiled. There are two men's toilets, two ladies toilets and one disabled toilet. Only one shower but another is being planned.
All the pitches are large and separated by fences so you feel that you have your own garden. Also very good for people with children and dogs. The large centre of the field is great for children, they can play games without worrying anyone.
The owners are very friendly and look after the site as well as their sheep.
Unfortunately the village shop is now closed but the locals are trying to set up a community shop.
Do have a look at the village hall, the locals showed us around, it's amazing.
Didn't visit the pub, but it looked quite busy.
Only five minutes walk to the river to watch the boats tie up overnight, we were told that if you were lucky you might spot an otter at dusk!
About 30 minutes walk to the boardwalk on Barton Broad, well worth a visit.
Lots of places to cycle to which was great for us.
This is a lovely, small, quiet site which has been open for almost a year. The toilets and shower are clean and of a very high standard. Our only criticism is that there is currently only one shower, which was not a problem at all for us at Easter, but might be if the site was busy in the summer. Neatishead is a small village with a pub, The White Horse, which has a good range of drinks and a simple food menu. The Old Saddlery Restaurant has now closed, as has the village shop (temporarily?). The site is convenient for exploring the Broads, coast and Norwich (well worth a visit and has a Park & Ride service). The owners are very welcoming and we would definitely return.
Nice relaxed site, friendly hosts and allowed us to extend our stay.
Toilet and Shower Facilities immaculate but not enough, but I believe another showerblock is being planned and added for 2012.
Laundry immaculate and outside sinks for washing up. Great size pitches, grass for tents and with hardstanding and grass area for caravans and motorhomes each divided by fencing.
Quiet and convenient site.
Will definitely use again, and it is walking distance to pub and village shop with friendly staff in both.
We have just returned from a weekend at this campsite. Upon arrival we were greeted by the owner who gave us a tour of the facilities and we then choose which pitch we wanted. Pitches were divided by fencing which improved privacy. Toilets, showers and laundry rooms were immaculate and very modern. We thought the showers and toilet facilities with under floor heating and eco lighting were much better than some hotels we have paid to stay in ! Within walking distance was a local shop, pub and board walk access to the Norfolk Broads. Fantastic weather and we will definitely be returning again soon. ***** (5 Stars !)
We originally booked for a one night stay but stayed for 5 nights. We were greeted with a warm and friendly welcome on arrival by Janice and Colin took time out to converse with us on numerous occasions during our stay.
The large pitches are divided by fences which gives you your own personal space. The shower facility is very private and gives you the feeling you are in an en suite of a hotel. Having spoke to the owners Janice and Colin they informed us of further showers to be installed in the near future. The toilet/shower has a heated floor, spotless through out, and a washing machine/dryer installed.
The local pub is only 5 minutes walk away were we enjoyed an excellent, reasonably priced meal, with traditional beers. Situated opposite the pub is a local store.
We would highly recommend Street Hill Farm, very hard to fault, will be returning in the future, sooner rather than later.
