The site wasn't quite ready when we stayed. Electrical hook - ups were available. The showers and toilets were all brand new and working. The shower cubicles are nice and roomy but the water was a little too hot !

There were no dish - washing facilities ready but it looked like they were nearly completed.

The site is all grass nicely situated next to a grave - yard with wonderful views of the mountains - so very peaceful !

The entrance to the field needs a little tidy up then once the facilities are finished it will be the perfect place to stay.

Just across the road from the pub is the most wonderful walk through a wooded valley upto a waterfall and a spot where dogs can swim.

There is a shop a few steps from the pub.

The pub has a nice garden with outside bar and is very old and atmospheric inside. There is a decent choice of food available which was nicely cooked and reasonably priced.

Over all we liked staying at The Briton so much we stayed an extra 2 nights.

Stayed here end of June, got chewed by insects! the pitches are mostly level on a little slope, however the walk to the toilet is up hill on the way back.

Will be much better when the large shower/toilet block is finished, although we were very disappointed that when we got up on the Monday morning the toilet block had its shutters down, wasn't sure what we were meant to do, good job we did have toilet with us in the campervan, later on we were told we could have used the pubs toilet as they clean the pub early, wouldn't fancy wandering through the pub in my pjs on off peak days.

Think it will be much better when it is finished as it wasn't great getting water from the hose(used for watering the hanging baskets) laying on the floor amongst the fag butts and debris by the pub entrance, location is great for Brecon, nice seating area on the grass with a separate bar serving lager and cider I think.

It was handy and a little cheaper than going into main pub, bar food wasn't cheap but it is good.

 We will return.

Campsite is work in progress next to a bustling locals valleys pub. Great ambience and a big selection of well kept real ales.

Under no circumstances fail to have a meal here. The food is outstanding, everything cooked from scratch and prepared on the premises.

Facilities quite basic but spotless, rates really good.

Campsite is set back a little from a main road so you do get traffic noise but not a huge amount.

Obviously the beacons are close and plenty to do in the area, not that we did much as we timed our visit with a music festival and didn't get much further than the bar and restaurant.

Totally recommended - we will return.
