Located 'in the dip' just outside of Preston, Hull, this quiet and secluded campsite is ideally placed for visiting relatives and friends in Hedon and Preston and Bilton.
The campsite itself is discrete, small, relatively flat and beautifully maintained over looking a lovely lake.
The stable block with its curious and inquisitive free range inhabitants of rescued chickens and one turkey was a truly delightful surprise and the rabbit hutch should really be described as palatial.
There is an outside sink with hot water cylinder available for pot washing - but it is not under cover.
The toilet/shower block looked new and was kept very clean. The lights in the block are motion detectors, which meant that every so often you would find yourself in pitch blackness. However, we had head torches to overcome that difficulty.
Flip flops are recommended if you want to take a shower. There was no shower curtain and no mop - so we ended up paddling around in cold water after our showers.
In addition to an electronic buzzer that announced people coming onto the site there was also a very bright security light controlled by movement situated at the top of the barn. We found this very useful on our walk from the tent to the toilet block.
Electric hook up is available. But otherwise there didn't seem to be anywhere to plug in hairdryers or straighteners or a place to recharge phones etc.
All in all, a delightful site and one which we will definitely be returning to again in the very near future.

We have just spent 5 days at this campsite we found the owners to be very friendly and helpful. The campsite was immaculate and peaceful. The fishing pond is very well maintained and is kept well stocked. We found our overall stay to be very relaxing and peaceful and we will definitely stay on this site again. There is a regular bus service into nearby villages and Hull right outside the campsite gates. Its also a pleasant 30 minute stroll into nearby Preston and Sproately villages were you will find pubs shops and local attractions.

We have just spent a weekend at this pretty little site and would definitely recommend it. The site is a credit to the owners, being very well maintained. The shower and toilets were clean with lots of hot water. The fishing appeared to be very popular and productive, we've never seen anyone catch a fish before although we've seen lots of people fishing.
We weren't there to fish however and spent a day exploring withernsea and the spurn heritage coast which we enjoyed very much.
We didn't eat at the local pub but ordered a takeaway from the Maharajah (Indian) from Hedon which was delivered to site.
Alan, the owner was very friendly and helpful (as were the chickens) We were very amused on the Saturday watching the 2 large turkeys waddle over to watch a group of youngsters put up their tents.
This site would suit anyone who wants peace and quiet, with easy driving either into Hull, which is worth a visit, or out towards to countryside and coast. The fishing would be a bonus for the interested.

Stayed over a wet couple of days over end of May! Got a very warm welcome (and cuppa tea) on arrival from Alan, who showed us around. The campsite and on site fishing was brilliant. Alan (and his friend) had a lot of time knowledge about the fishing and were really happy to help- even a complete novice like me! The free range chickens and Blackie (the black Cat) wondering round really amused us.
The site was close enough to Hull for a visit but far enough away to enjoy the peace and quite!
The Deep is well worth a visit (we went for my Brothers Wedding) and Fort Paull was good as well. I would also recommend the New World Chinese Restaurant in Garden Village- very tasty, all you can eat!
The weather we experienced did not detract from a brilliant stay. Spring Valley is a gem of a campsite- Will definitely be going back come rain or shine!

Spent Easter weekend camping with my 13 year old son. The owner, Alan was most helpful and welcoming and offered to help erect our tent as I have an injured shoulder.
The campsite is small and intimate. It is clean and level and will easily site 3 large tents although there is an adjacent paddock which is not being used at present. The only noise is from the nearby road.
Alan is very particular about who camps on his property. Noisy, boozy party goers are not encouraged. This site is ideal for a sedate, quiet, relaxing camp.
There are two toilets and one shower. All are immaculately clean and free from bugs. The shower has unlimited piping hot water. There is also a wash up basin with hot water.
The on site lakes are well stocked with fish and Alan was keen to encourage my novice son is the art of fishing for the sheer enjoyment of it. Many locals came to fish and all were friendly, helpful and encouraging.
I will be going again and next time my wife will come as will our neighbours. All our children are over 12 which is Alan's cut-off age. This is not a site for babies, toddlers and noisy kids.
There are about 100 chickens that roam the site. They are incredibly friendly and will investigate tents and what you have for dinner if you are not careful. There are also 3 turkeys, a couple of roosters and a strange but over friendly black cat.
The site is in easy reach of Hull with all its shopping and entertainment facilities. The sea is in the other direction and a reasonable drive away.
I hope Alan keeps this site as it is as it is ideal for my type of getaway.

We found this site very quiet, friendly and have booked again for May 2011.
The fishing is excellent and the happy chicken are a pleasure to see.
Our welcome by the owners was very friendly, and are looking forward to our return.
The site is very handy for the east coast, and shopping in Hull or Beverley
Thanks Alan and Debbie for a nice peaceful few days.
