 Stopped at this site when we visited Bourton on the water.
The site was well kept and had nice views across the surrounding countryside. The grass on the pitches was lush and cut to a good length. Depending on where you pitched, it might be a little sloping, but we were given the choice so were quite happy with where we parked up.
There was a nice pub in the village which served very good food, not the cheapest but you get what you pay for. Also a bus stop just up the road from the site. It was about a 2. 5-3 mile walk in to Bourton, which was across fields and only had a small section of road to walk along.
The only downside of this site were the two showers, they were on a pay meter at 20p for 2 minutes, which is fine, however, you couldn't adjust the temperature, it was either scolding hot or cold. Apart from this, the facilities were kept clean. There was also a very useful information shed which had maps, info, games, books, etc.

We have just returned from a fantastic week at this lovely idyllic little site.
First impressions, we were a bit worried as the ground is rather undulating but after a quick scout round we found an area flat enough to pitch our rather large tent and hooked up to the electric. However I think the campsite is quirky because of the non level ground and there were plenty of places to pitch and the views were absolutely amazing.
Most of the week there were only 4 units on site so there was no strain on the toilets/showers whatsoever. The toilets/showers are basic but kept very clean and the showers are lovely and hot and 20p for 3 minutes. There were more people arriving closer to the weekend and that meant there may be a little wait for the loo but nothing we couldn't manage.
Seeing the horses in the meadow and the kites flying above your head, no noise apart from wildlife, its just the perfect place to be
We would go so far as to say that this our favourite little site that we have stayed on, its in a great location, the owners are very friendly and laid back and the whole ambience of the site is relaxing and chilled out. We have had a fantastic week its so easy to get to all the places that we wanted to visit too, we will definitely be back.

Just returned from two nights at Ashspring House. Bill and Lyn were very friendly and helpful and they have a beautifully kept site, which is great value for £14 including EHU. The pitches are on grass which is like a well-manicured lawn and there are flower baskets and bird feeders dotted around and three ponies in the next field. There are two shower rooms with WC and the electric showers are 20p for 3 minutes. With careful planning, my husband and I managed to shower adequately with 40p between us! There are plenty of public footpaths nearby and Bourton is a 30-40 minute walk (or there's a bus stop just up the road). There's a little hut (the TARDIS) which is full of leaflets, jigsaws, DVDs, dog poo bags, bottle openers and other useful bits and pieces. We forgot our dog's lead which could have been a disaster, but Bill came to the rescue and lent us two! Would definitely recommend this site.

This is one of the prettiest sites we have found with well tendered flower beds and shrubs. The grass is immaculate so they understandably ban non breathable groundsheets. It is a sloping site with views down the valley towards Bourton on the Water. The owner thoughtfully provides wooden blocks to help level the caravan. Tents and Motor Homes are accommodated on the next field which is more flat. We had booked by phone so were able to go straight onto the field and set up. The very friendly owner came round in the evening to collect our payment. The site has two wet rooms, each with a shower and WC. They have a concrete floor so are a bit basic but perfectly clean. We were able to walk our dogs along a bridleway close to the entrance leading up to the village. We cycled along the lanes to visit Bourton on the Water and also went on to Upper and Lower Slaughter. This is a beautiful part of the country. We thought £14. 00 per night including EHU was a real bargain for such a well laid out site.

We have just returned from a lovely stay at the Ashspring House Caravan/Camping site.
This has recently been updated to allow camping. The site is lovely and quiet in a very rural and restful location.
The facilities were adequate, the owners very friendly and helpful, and the views beautiful.
Very close to Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on-the-Wold, Burton and Moreton-on-the-Marsh. The closest villages of 'the Rissingtons' were very nice, and the local pub 'The Lamb Inn' can be walked to in about 5-10 minutes. It is a nice spot, with a good beer garden, and lovely food.
We will re-visit soon.

Ashpring House is a peaceful well kept site with a friendly helpful site owner.
Own sanitation is essential, but the elsan point was clean and easy to use with a hose to wash out the toilet cassette, the ehu bollards and drinking water tap and grey waste drain easy to reach and the grass was cut. Waste is recycled at this site and the recycling shed with separate bins for different materials has a stock of books, puzzles and information about local birds, wildlife and the friendly quiet ponies in adjacent fields.
Fantastic views and glorious sunsets from this compact 5 unit site which has minimal traffic noise.
The site has lots of birdsong with bird feeders attracting a variety of wild birds including a pied woodpecker and various finches.
Levelling blocks and ramps required on some pitches because the site is gently sloping with mounds in places which can make setting up interesting. It's best to manoeuvre the caravan onto the least sloping part of the pitch if you are at the bottom of the site.
No special facilities for children unless they like birds and wildlife but the site is away from busy roads.
Care must be taken by owners of longer caravans when exiting the site. The turning angle into the lane makes it impossible for the driver to see the offside rear of the caravan in relation to the gatepost so good positioning and assistance from someone to look may be required to avoid the possibility of the offside rear end swinging into the gatepost.
A lovely peaceful site for couples or older caravanners, and a few minutes from the picturesque town of Bourton on the Water by car.
