 Very positive & friendly welcome by new wardens. The site is well situated at the edge of Braemar, surrounded by mountain scenery. The pitches are large and level, but the main toilet block is small and closes for cleaning at 09. 30 - early for some, but there is another block. The site has internal TV, WiFi and a dog walk, none of which are mentioned in the Caravan Club book.

We stayed here 3rd and 4th of May and even with heavy rain during the night the ground dried amazingly quickly, easy ground to peg out the tent too. The facilities are great, loads of hot water, clean and tidy. The wardens are both very nice and helpful. Would recommend this site to anyone visiting the area.

We have just returned from a 4 night visit to this site. There isn't one thing we could fault it on! What a beautiful, well run, clean and friendly site this is! A delight to stay here!
To mention a few of the pluses:- Gas central heating in toilet/shower block! This was a first for us having heated toilets! Toilets were at all times immaculate. Plenty of them too! The showers were really good too. There is even private cubicles for washing/teeth brushing. A great idea I thought - much better than standing in a long line of campers with heads hung over the sink brushing their teeth! A hairdryer is also available free of charge! There is also a drying room for any wet clothes you may have that need drying. We also discovered an information room which was packed with informative brochures/advice on the local area.
The pitches are large and extremely well drained. We had some very heavy downpours whilst here but the ground just seemed to suck the rain up like a sponge! The couple who run the site are extremely down to earth, polite and very approachable! The site operates a security barrier. Once checked in we were given a security card which we used to enter the site. This gives you a feeling of security.
Although the site was very busy (Mayday holiday weekend) we still found the site very peaceful and relaxing – this we feel is due to the pitches being so large. We took our dog with us and found some fantastic dog walks for him. At the opposite side of the road from the site there is a long forest walk which ourselves and our dog enjoyed most mornings! The dog walk through the forest allowed us to let him off the lead and have a good run around. There are ducks/ducklings around the campsite which are very friendly. They will actually take food from your hand if you wish to feed them! We saw squirrels, all kinds of birds, and deer!
It’s only a short walk (about 10 minutes) into Braemar itself. Lovely, friendly village with a selection of shops. The view from our tent was simply breathtaking – the view accompanied with a top class site made our weekend one of the best in a long time. Can’t recommend this site highly enough!

Braemar was our maiden voyage camping experience. Arrived at the park to a lovely welcome from the 2 lady wardens on the reception desk. The park and the Toilet and wash areas on the site were spotless. However there was a boiler issue and this closed one of the shower blocks as there was no hot water. It was only after I endured a cold shower did I realise that there was another shower block behind the reception area! Lesson to self, read the site map given to you on arrival!
Surrounding area is stunning and is also excellent for walkers, dog walking and for those campers who what a quite and relaxing stay. Village was a 10 min walk for shops, bars and restaurants, although I didn't eat in any of the restaurants. Thankfully the weather was beautiful and we were able to sit outside and enjoy ' a small sherry or 2' at the 2 bars in the village along with our 2 dogs. However on those occasions when the weather is not so good, I'm afraid we would not have been so fortunate as the bars etc are not dog friendly.
Overall enjoyed our stay and we would visit again. However, as aforementioned this was our first experience and fully intend to explore many others so may be a while before we are back.

We turned up on spec to this campsite expecting it to be very busy but they had plenty of space and we chose a spot on the grass next to a small stream, with views of the mountains. This is a Caravan Club site (members and non-members welcome) but unlike some of the others we have visited there was a refreshing lack of notices telling you what you can’t do! The warden and assistant warden couples were both lovely – the right amount of chatting, yet still efficient. Pitches are large and well spread out, and as you would expect from the CC the facilities are spotless. We ended up staying longer than we had planned.
Only 5 minutes walk from Braemar, and although it’s not large it still has everything you’d need for a few days stay – small Co-Op supermarket, hotel bar, tourist office, pharmacy and several good cafes (would recommend ‘Taste’ coffee shop at the end of the village). There is also a very good outdoor shop. A takeaway selling ‘fusion food’ – fish and chips and Indian! – is on the campsite side of the village, although we didn’t get round to trying it.
Walking and cycling routes direct from the campsite. The tourist office has a leaflet on walks from Braemar, ranging from a short stroll around the village to a 7 mile circular route up the Morrone – we did this on a sunny July morning and the views were stunning.

Very nice laid out site with plenty of space between pitches. The toilets are spotless and very well kept as most club sites. We found it very nice being just a short walk into the village of Braemar so you could have a nice morning stroll for bread papers etc. There is a large number of walks in the area long and short so something to suit everybody. The only small problem we found is that there is a large number of ducks on site which I know is nice but eating outside in your deckchair was not a good idea and also the amount of dropping was a problem if you like to keep your shoes clean. All in all a very nice site to have a nice quite relaxing time. And also when we stayed the site had stand in wardens who was a great laugh and very helpful.

This is our third trip to this site. We love it.
Everything is clean [spotless], tidy and well laid out. As the season is quieter, there were 10 less active pitches, but this led to there actually being more choice late on a Friday night. The wardens were lovely, polite and full of necessary info.
The local shops, galleries etc are great for a wander round. We also went further afield and walked to the pinch bowl [behind Mar lodge]. We went to Spittal of Glenshee for a worth while lunch. On the way back up to Glenshee we saw paragliders taking off and soaring round the top.
A visit to Braemar castle is well worth it and Lara [our German guide] was a wealth of info and even coped with our 9 year old son. Who loved all the ghost stories and the pit.
We will return again that's for sure.
We loved the ducks that were wandering round. They even seemed to laugh at some of our jokes! [Why don't ducks fly upside down?. 'cos they'd quack up!. From Calvin aged 9]

Site just on the edge of the village. Friendly welcome from the wardens and plenty of pitches to choose from. All hardstanding and a good size. Site seems fairly well sheltered.
Toilets / showers are old - but kept clean with plenty of hot water. Drying room is a great idea.
The village itself consists of a couple of shops and cafes, nothing to keep you entertained for more than an hour or so. The area though is full of things to do. Not far from Balmoral, miles of walking and cycling tracks and the River Dee is stunning. We found Ballater to be a slightly bigger village with a great cycle track down to Aboyne - part of route 195. In the other direction you have Glen Shee and the ski area. Two of the chairlifts run all year and the cafe does great food at very good prices.
Overall this site is a great stopover and would imagine extremely well used when the ski season starts.

Assistant wardens very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. Fantastic scenery, excellent walks straight from the site.
Saw lots of red deer and a red squirrel (a big deal for us as we don't have deer where we live and only grey squirrels!)
Braemar only 5/6 mins walk away, Indian takeaway really good. Lin of Dee stunning. Shower block etc up to the usual CC standards and it was HEATED! Oh bliss in the rain.
The best bit - sad but true - the drying room! A real boon when it rains every day. It was the first time in 2 weeks I'd had dry walking boots and waterproofs. Would definitely go back again.

Braemar is a long way from anywhere but whichever direction you arrive from the scenery is gorgeous.
The campsite has wonderful views and is conveniently close to the town which is about 10 minutes walk away.
The site facilities were to a high standard and the pitches well maintained. However, we also noticed an unfriendly attitude but put it down to a bad hair day!
We ate out at The Invercauld Hotel. Our advice is do not do so. It is a coach tour stopover hotel the food was mass produced, poor quality and expensive. The other large hotel was fully booked (coach parties). The Bistro is alledgedly better qualty but we felt the prices were a bit high on the menu board - particularly as we both have small appetites.
Whilst staying at Braemar pay a visit to Balmoral (closed August and September as royals are in residence). You are not allowed into the main house but the grounds and gardens are delightful.
Beautiful area of Scotland. Lovely site location. Worth the visit.

We come here all the time and have for 14 years
Great site with fantastic views in every direction
Wardens are very friendly and helpful
Facilities are great as you would expect from 'The Club' drying room heated toilet/shower blocks dish washing etc Great park and wood for kids to play in. (Just try getting them out of it )
Braemar is only a few mins walk with pubs shops cafes golf fishing
Many good walks can be done directly from site

My wife and I and the dog stayed at Braemar caravan club site for the second time.
Great scenery as expected, local Invercauld hotel food was not brilliant, but Fife Arms hotel was slightly better.
Not very many shops in Braemar, but adequate for essentials.
The site was well looked after as usual for a caravan club site. Perfect area for walking the dog, with a very good walk across the main road on to the forest track, Great wildlife and spectacular scenery from all vantage points on the site.
I felt that the Warden cutting the grass should dump his cuttings a bit further away from the caravan pitches, as we had him driving past every 10 minutes to dump his cuttings which was only about 30 feet away from our pitch.
The real down side was the very grumpy older wardens who are not too approachable to be honest, and got no welcome or smile on the day we arrived. This in my opinion spoiled it a little for us.

Stayed at the campsite for 1 week whilst hillwalking in the Southern Cairngorms. The site was well located close to the centre of the nice little town of Braemar.
Excellent facilities on site all kept in immaculate order. At £16 per night for a medium tent for 2 plus 1 car it wasn't cheap, but it is the only campsite within about 16 miles, so it has no real competition.
The downside was that we were made to feel like criminals throughout our stay by the wardens (the older couple). At the end of the day there would be no campsite without the campers, so in my opinion it would pay dividends if their welcoming strategy was a bit more welcoming.

Great welcome from the wardens, told us to select our pitch and let them know the pitch no.
Toilet and shower facilities very good, good size pitches,
Wonderful surroundings and what a bonus when the deer come onto the site at night, mind you it was snowing on the tops.
Braemar is a short walk away with shops pubs etc. The bus service is quite good. There is walking cycling fishing etc from the site which is great if you don't want to travel too far.
Tried to find the chippy but it was closed down when we were there. Would we go again the answer is a definite yes.

First visit to Braemer. Very clean site, but kind of quiet when we were there, kids liked the play park and small burn that runs along side the park.
The scenery is beautiful, short drive to the glenshee centre and 3o miles or so to Pitlochry.
The hungry highlander chippy in Braemar is very nice, the biggest hotel in town was not serving meals and by the sounds of it better of not but Gordons Bistro was fortunately open for business and nice meal. Not much to do in Braemar itself!
