 Check in easy, you need to top up a pre pay elec card to put in bollard, then on departure re insert before returning it to reception for any refund due ( it’s a bit fiddly ) and if you leave before reception open you can only drop card off.
2 facilities blocks slightly dated but clean.
10 min walk into village 1 pub, a hotel and a few cafes plus a chippy, a butchers and a small supermarket.
Waymarked trails displayed in village plus a small tourist info shed in courtyard where gift shops are.

Difficult to add anything to the many glowing reviews on this site and others.
From the friendly welcome to the excellent facilities this is one of the best sites we have had the pleasure of staying on.
The electric hook up was by pre paid card and is charged at the current rate ( with no profit to the site) so we were pleasantly surprised that we only managed to spend 47p per day ( and that included copious amounts of tea brewing and a couple of hours under an electric throw blanket ?? ) considerably less than the £6 per night of some sites.
Absolutely well worth a visit if you’re in the area.

Difficult to fault this site, aka "the Invercauld" on road signs. Opened as a Caravan Club site in 1987 (there's an invitation to the opening on display in Braemar castle), it's part of the local large estate. PYO pitch at online booking, look at aerial photos if you want to avoid or enjoy the shade from the birch trees on site, or see the views of the Cairngorm National Park; be aware that you will pitch to the peg at the rear LHS, so UK vehicles reverse onto the pitch, European ones go nose-first - this ensures the 6m spacing, and habitation doors face the same way.
Cost £29pn, plus the card for the EHU; we put £10pn onto it, it cost about £3 pn for cooking & heating etc on electricity, credited back on leaving. The two managers keep the office open all day (Club sites take note!) and between them, they stagger cleaning of the two toilet blocks. The office has a good shop with plenty of camping gear, food shops nearby in the conservation village.
Excellent off-lead dog run beside the site, or on a track on the other side of the main road. Very quiet at night (apart from several noisy diesel heaters!); we heard owls, and stags - it's the rutting season. As others have said, good clean facilities, never any queues; first site we've known to have a food waste caddy in one of the two facilities blocks; information room had couches etc, a pleasant place to go if it's raining and you're in a wee tent.
Having said which, 10 mins walk into town, Farquharson's Arms welcomes dogs (Bonio supplied) but get there soon after midday for a meal (or book), as it fills up. Surprising number of good quality shops and galleries in the village, dogs allowed in all (except the butchers, obviously).
Excellent leaflet for local walks available in the Tourist information hut - we connected two walks (8 miles) one day, Queens Drive gives fabulous views of birch and aspen in full autumn colour. Highest golf course in Scotland is close by; good cycling at NTS Mar Estate; Braemar castle is well worth the admission fee, rather than just parking up and taking photos - it's not at all what you'd expect inside.

Overall experience was fantastic, arrival and check in very fast, shown to available areas, toilets, showers etc spotless.
The pitch was perfect, very quiet with fantastic views of the surrounding hills /mountains, laundry and dry room on site, information room with loads of board games.

An absolutely great place to stay and a wonderful base to explore Braemar and the local area,
Camping in October may seem odd but when there is an excellent drying room and shower/wash block you don’t mind.
A site I will 100% be coming back too.
£20ish per night for two of us is very reasonable and happy to pay when the site facilities are this good.

We stayed on the Rally field for the Braemar Gathering and it was brilliant.
The attendants were friendly, very helpful and the site was well organised.
A great location to walk into the town for the games and we were blessed with beautiful weather.
We would definitely use this site again.

Great site, well organised, loads of grassy space between the pitches. Hard standings have plenty of space for caravan, awning and car.
Surrounded by trees and hills.
5 minute walk to Braemar with a good choice of eateries which are busy in June so best to book.
Small supermarket in the village.

Great campsite. Used the laundry facilities as a long holiday and the drying room was spot on. Facilities were good showers hot.
Good information room, would have liked more information on local walks from the site. We walked Morrone easy and great descent.
Stroll into town and food shopping, we used the coop the butchers and the chocolate shop. Great meal at Fahaquars pub and dog friendly.
Did a bit of cycling on the quiet roads.

Site was clean and tidy, as was the shower and toilet block, brilliant shower.

Lovely well priced place, with really friendly and informative staff. Nestled in a very cute little village.
Had a drying room which was perfect with all the wet weather, as well a warm, dry place with comfy sofas to relax and great toilet facilities.
It had a covered place for campers to cook and our only slight moan was that this didn't have sides so didn't help much with sideways rain and wind.
Despite this - would very much recommend.

Stayed for the Braemar gathering. It’s a great campsite very close to the centre of Braemar.
The facilities were clean and the staff were very friendly. They made our stay feel personal despite how busy the site was due to the games.
Braemar has a lovely restaurant The Fife arms which served fabulous local food.
The gallery also supports some brilliant Scottish Painters and my husband updated his mountain/ski equipment at the Braemar mountain store which also has a great coffee shop.

Beautiful site, with immaculate facilities. We were made to feel very welcome.
Will definitely visit again.
Short walk to Braemar itself where there is a nice restaurant that we ate in twice.
Lots of space between pitches and a small burn running along the back of the site.

Not been here for several years, last time was run by CAMC. Seemed very similar, couldn't see any changes.
Good sized pitches with electric, two facility blocks. One nearest us closed between 1 and 3pm daily which means no access to loos but the other block open. Have to say we saw toilets being cleaned throughout the day, wardens do work non stop.
The drying room fabulous to leave damp coats and boots to dry.
Village of Braemar is less than 10 minutes walk on a good path. Has a few tourist gift shops, a great outdoors shop and a couple of cafes, plus the Fife Arms Hotel which does meals and snacks. Plenty of beautiful walks in the area, we loved the 'Queens Drive" walk, keep going down past "Lion Rock" for an awesome walk with incredible views.
Our only disappointment with site was unable to choose a pitch, you get what you are given. Pitches down towards the road, which wasn't the quietest during the day, were filled when plenty of free pitches at the other end of the site which was much quieter. Likewise we were under a tree which made for a noisy night with heavy rain.
We booked on line and received 6 different emails in under 48 hours - all to supposedly enable quick easy check in. Despite that check was fairly slow with explanations of how to park etc.
At £24 per night including electric and showers was great. However note that from Dec. 1st they are going charge electric as used on top of pitch prices.
Absolutely brilliant site well placed for walking and visiting the main attractions in the area, would definitely come again but would prefer to choose our own pitch please.

Alan and Avril were very accommodating after arriving late and without a booking.
The campsite was very well maintained and near the centre of the village.
The surrounding scenery is excellent.
Facilities catered for your everyday needs and the site shop was well stocked to replace the basics that may have been left at home.
Would definitely return if in the area.
