 Had an extra week at the end of the school holidays so we decided to take our two boys (aged 4 and 2) to somewhere with some facilities in case of poor weather. What a mistake!
The touring area, or atleast the part we were put on was right next to the main road in and out of the camp. It was covered in litter and was used as a dog exercise area and as a shortcut by the people with caravans. It also seemed to be used a car park which didn't make it very safe.
Whilst pitching the tent, which wasn't easy as it has a fair share of concrete scattered around, we got talking to the family pitched next to us. They explained that they have had to put up with noise into the early hours for the past 3 nights. But this was Sunday so we guessed things would be quieter. How wrong we were!
From around midnight to 3am we had to put up with drunken brawls right outside the tent, shouting and foul language. All this happening within 30 yards of the Security office.
On top of this the constant stream of cars, thumping over the speed bumps and caravan doors slamming made it almost impossible to sleep. And then at 8am the site staff decide it would be a great time to start hauling caravans around, again over the speed bumps!
On top of all this the touring facilities were filthy. The toilets and showers were disgusting. At around 8. 30am someone was in there cleaning them but when I returned later it looked like the filth had just be redistributed and the showers had not even been touched. There are a couple of family showers, but again these were dirty and the water and lights kept going on and off.
We were supposed to stay for 4 nights but we could only brave 1. So we packed up and went off to find another site. We lodged a complaint at the reception, and we were told that someone would contact us that day. A week later and several phone calls later we are still waiting.
The entertainment facilities on the camp looked OK with a couple large bars, an amusement arcade and a large play area. We didn't get to use the swimming pools as they close at 4. 30pm. There is a small shop on site which stock the very basics.
Would we go back? Never in a million years!

On arrival we found the staff had no interest in helping tourers find the pitches however once set up we explored the site. The bars were fantastic and great for kids the entertainers were great swimming pools a little disappointing but with the sandy beach just over the road this was not a problem. Touring site very clean showers ok but water pressure low not too bad at night but a little noisy from some tents. Overall we all loved the site and surrounding area and we will be going back next year

The site was clean however pitches were not marked out and we felt it was crowded.
I wouldnt recommend it for campervans, because our experience was, if you leave your pitch to go out for the day, it will be taken over by someone else by the time you get back.
The club house had good entertainment and I would think in quieter seasons it would be lovely.
The beach is just across the road.
The fish and chip shop next to the club house was excellent in both quality and value for money.

Just spent a pleasant few days here, manager was very helpful on arrival directing us where to go. Camping bit is small they tend to cater more for the static market but it was adequate for our needs,water pipes at very convenient places and plenty of electrical hookups. Ground was quite hard but that was due to the hot weather and the manager and other campers helped with the hard task of banging in pegs( we were very grateful after a long hot journey and 2 tired kids). Unfortunately the toilets and showers let the site down,the ladies wasn't to bad except no hand soap or paper towels and the showers could have done with a scrub.The men's on the other hand my husband wasn't impressed there was again no hand soap or paper towels and no toilet paper. The entertainment was very good, plenty for the kids to do.
The only other complaint was when we tried to order some food on the Sunday night we were told they had stopped serving as they had a backlog (this was at 8.30pm),there couldn't have been more then 10 people in the restaurant at that time! We had to settle for the sites takeaway fish and chips which are nice but the staff seemed a bit harassed.Those points aside we really enjoyed it and it feels a safe site at night and will be going back again in a few months time hopefully staying longer.
