 This is a great site in a fantastic location with great facilities but be aware that the standard pitches do not get telly reception. I mean nil reception. When you mention this to the wardens (owners no longer manage the site) they offer to move you to their premier pitch and charge you another £4 per night. They know full well there is no reception but fail to tell you this.
The warden was less than helpful giving us the old ' we just work here' routine. I was told no one complained about this but she was unaware the guy at the front of the queue, when I was further back, was doing just that.
I'm sure the owners wouldn't be impressed with their poor attitude. Phone signal is also a no no. Other than that facilities here are first class.
Shame they can't be up front and straight when dealing with their customers.

Visited this site as we wanted to try out our new van with the dog coming along. Accommodated us at short notice and then managed to get us a Super pitch on arrival.
I thought the super pitch was good value for money although we did get a freeview box, not a sky box. Not sure if we were meant to get an actual Sky box, but wasn't that important to us, but if you wanted to watch a key sporting event you might be a bit cheesed off! Will take our own one the next time just in case!
Pitch was huge and very well maintained. Liked the high up position with good views. Kids loved the play park. Lots of good walks for the Dog around.
About a 10/15 min walk in to the village. Had the best curry for ages from the Indian rest on the corner, worthwhile going back for that alone!
Found the toilets and washrooms excellent.
All in all a very pleasant trip, and the dog behaved on his first camping visit too!

We stayed here for a few nights during the Easter holidays and had a great time. With 2 adults and 2 kids on a Super Pitch it was a bit pricey, but then again with full water, waste and electrical hookup along with free wi-fi and satellite TV it was worth the cost (not saying I'd want to pay that every time though). The pitch was huge, had great views as it was a bit higher up, but maybe a bit stark due to it being all gravel and tarmac. That has its advantages though, especially in some weather conditions, but excuse my language trying to get the awning pegs in.
The facilities on the site are good with a number of warm, clean toilet blocks and a play park our youngest wouldn't have left if he'd had a choice.
There's plenty to do in the area, especially if you like to walk or cycle, with some routes starting close to the site too. A site we intend to re-visit, especially as it's close enough for us to do for a weekend trip.

We have just spent 5 nights here in very cold weather.
The site is fabulous and deserves the good reviews I have previously read.
The wardens are lovely and friendly, and the good service started before we arrived as I rang twice before we arrived and even enquired about the roads and if they were passable due to the snow.
Toilets and showers are excellent. Spotless with private cubicles and brilliant hairdryers. The shower block is as warm as toast and a pleasure to use.
There is not a dog walk on site however there are plenty of walks within 2 minutes of the site and we were given a sheet with all of the local walks described. The walks are fantastic.
We have used the wifi available but it is expensive at £8 per day.
Location is brilliant as a 5 minute walk to Grantown, which is a smart place. Butcher sells very good meat, Coop excellent and other nice bakeries. We also visited the smokehouse.

We booked one night here and were very pleased with the whole site. Wardens were very friendly and showed us to our pitch. We opted for a super pitch which comes with wi-fi and satellite tv. I know most people don't come away to watch TV and surf the net, but with two small children, the TV came in handy after bedtime! It was very easy to set up. The pitch itself was really big, loads of room for the awning and bikes etc. I didn't begrudge paying £23. 50 for the night.
The toilet/ shower facilities were excellent. Clean and warm with music playing which I thought was a nice touch. The grounds were well lit and the site appeared to be well maintained. Our two boys spent a lot of time in the play area and we found it to be safe and a good size.
Booking was very easy via the website.
The town is a ten min walk with two children in tow, and the road is adequately lit in the evening. The Co-op is very well kitted out and the is a good butcher too.
Will definitely keep coming back to this site!

We have just spent 10 days here ( early Dec )
Very nice site. Site open all year we had a super pitch but the owners did not think to insulate pipes to taps so although we took steps to insulate our equipment we still lost use of water for three days.
Fixed it ourselves by insulating their tap for them.
As you would expect for this time of year site very quite.
Toilet block very good , very warm with underfloor heating.
BUT cleaning was rare which let the whole experience down a bit.
Lots of hot water , privacy cubicles for sinks.
5 minutes walk to town and a good sized CO OP.
Cant really comment on the playground.

Very clean and tidy site with good access to local town facilities. We had a 'normal' pitch with EHU and found that it did not take much to 'trip out' the power. We could also not get a TV signal, even with our digital TV, though this may be because our pitch was up against a very high, thick hedge and the tv aerial did not reach above it. Our grass/hardstanding pitch was of a good size for our needs, however the 'superpitches' were all on hardstanding and gave the impression of a large car park. They were also rather expensive. The toilet blocks and laundry facilities were excellent. Staff were very good and friendly.
We did not like Grantown on Spey, it was run down and the large hotel in the centre was like Gods waiting room. We did however, have a lovely meal at the smaller hotel in the town (even though it has a very strong smell of damp).

Grantown campsite. Fantastic facilities, very clean really friendly and helpful staff. I'm disabled and unable to walk far, when we mentioned this they could not do enough to help we were as near facilities as possible, they were very clean and well looked after. The play park was ideal for our son (his only criticism was nowhere to play football). The site had lots of information about area and weekend we were there was the local vintage car rally, so they were really busy, but had time for all. You will see us again

Brilliant, after our first visit in 2005 we have repeatedly visited this caravan park, Easter summer and even Christmas. The site is in a great location, nestled in the heart of a small town, it allows visitors to be within walking distance of well stocked shops restaurants and friendly local pubs. The on site facilities are spotlessly clean at any time of the day and the site itself is maintained to a high standard, it is surrounded by fields where you will find horses grazing and small hills where you will find an old railway line and miles of beautiful walks for your dog or just the family. The town of Grantown on Spey is small but bustling with shops restaurants and pubs where families and pets are welcome as well as a leisure centre with swimming facilities. There is also a large park on the edge of the town that has a duck pond for kids and dogs to play in. This site is also close to the tourist resort Aviemore which has lots of fun for the family including Landmark the popular fun family attraction or book a ride on the old fashioned steam train. This site is very easy to access and has a perfect phone signal and WI-FI available.

We stayed in this site in mid-July, on the lower tent site. The toilet / shower / dishwashing facilities are among the best we have seen. The laundry was clean and tidy. The children's playpark was excellent.
We spoke to a few caravan / motorhome owners and they were extremely happy with their pitches etc.
The welcome was pleasant, and the owners could not have been more helpful. When we discovered we had forgotten the tent poles (Outwell Vermont XL - so how could I not notice the poles were missing !) they offered to refund the cost of that night, not needed because I got the poles reasonably quickly.
Unfortunately we had torrential rain on the Saturday night and, although the rain for the rest of the week was no worse than normal, the ground remained extremely sodden. After a few days we noticed a stagnant smell coming from any muddy areas. The smell was reminiscent of a stagnant pond. The cause might be from the material used to create the tent area. The 'soil' appears to be about 3' deep with hardcore underneath, so our plastic pegs are also distorted now. There are drainage areas all around the pitches so an effort has been made to ensure the area is draining.
Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to speak to the owners when I left, so this review is the first they will hear of my concerns. However in future I will use metal pegs wherever we camp, try to be more choosy where we pitch, and extend the extra tarp below the entrance tarp further.
Would I stay here again - yes. Especially in dry weather.

large site well laid out. Good position close to town.
The site we were on was hard standing and flat. We were lucky with the weather saw site at its best, would say this is one of the best sites we have been on.
Staff helpful and friendly. We were guided to our site with help being offered if needed.
Position is such that there is a wide choice places that can be visited such as Aviemore, Carrbridge, Nairn Inverness to mention a few Over all excellent.
We had no children but those that were there played happily especially in the play area

A well run site with a spacious feel about it.
Friendly welcome and helpful staff.
The site is just a short walk from town where there is good sized supermarket and plenty of cafés.
The other side of the town there is some lovely woodland with several waymarked paths and just beyond the woods is a beautiful riverside walk along the Spey. This is particularly lovely in mid June when the riverbank is full of lupins!
Behind the campsite is a disused railway track along which you can walk or cycle.
Back at camp the toilet and shower facilities are excellent. Our only negative comment is that the hardstanding gravel is a bit pervasive and gives rather a harsh appearance. It would be nicer to have some grass areas dividing the gravel up.

Just spent the Easter weekend here & have had a great time. We were given a warm welcome & given leaflets etc about the local area. We were led to our pitch & helped back onto it by the warden. We were on a fully serviced pitch & the pitch itself was massive. Had to watch though as there are wooden dividers & you have to be careful if your toilet is near the back of your caravan. I had to lean over the rail to get mine out to empty it!
The toilet block nearest to us was fantastic & was lovely & cozy. Showers are probably the best that I have been in & even the floor was warm. There are hairdryers in all the 4 privacy cubicles too & another at the main sink.
The kids play park was a decent size & central to the site too, there was loads of kids there this weekend & they sounded like they were enjoying themselves.
Just outside the site there is an abundance of dog walks & a lovely one takes you to a viewpoint which has lovely views all over grantown on spey.
Its a 5- 10 minute walk to the town & there are some lovely shops. Fish & chip shop was visited twice, so it must have been good.
The local area is spectacular I only wish it was a bit nearer us!
Only wee negative being that if you have a dog it has to be taken with you if you leave the site. Not sure of the logic behind this decision.
Would highly recommend this site & will certainly return again

We booked here for a spontaneous new year break. We arrived on 30th December having travelled from Bolton and managed to avoid any snow disruption on the way!
Booking was easy and the lady was informative and helpful, when we arrived we were shown to out pitch by the warden and help given to reverse in.
Pitch was a good size, hardstanding with full amenities of electric, water, tv Inc sky box etc.
Once settled, the heavens opened and it snowed for the next 3 hours, my 11 year old had a ball, we had sledges and winter clothes with us so well prepared.
The toilets are amazing, immaculately clean, very warm even in sub zero temperatures outside, with lovely music playing. Showers had temp control and tap rather than push button.
Fantastic location as within walking distance to town with many pubs and restaurants to choose from as well as supermarket.
Great place to spend Hogmany as they close the main street and dance from 11pm to around 1am with a street band and fireworks etc. A really great family event.
Excellent location to visit Aviemore and The Cairngorm Mountain. Easy to park Motorhome in Aviemore and also up the mountain.
A fantastic base for exploring or staying local.

We arrived without booking and found only super ptiches available. To be honest there are not many non super pitches so if you want them book in advance.
Site is immaculate and toilets / showers are some of the best we have used. Clean, warm and piping hot water - top marks to the cleaners.
The wardens are super friendly and helpful - escorting you to your pitch etc. Its less than 1-0 minutes walk into Grantown which we liked as its a working town with a few tourist shops. There is a Coop in the midst of a refit which sold everything you could wish for plus a butches, grocers in town too.
Whilst we were on sit there was a lot of work going on with earth movers, diggers etc working from 8am each day - so to be fair it wasn't too tranquil.
The site is expensive - with CC reduction we still paid £47 for 2 nights. Whilst you do get free Wifi and a tv cable neither would tempt us to pay this if we had the choice.
All in all its a clean and well kept site, nice to be able to walk into town easily but in our opinion its well overpriced.
