 We overnighted here on our way down to Devon, unfortunately we went in early July during that monsoon type weather.
After setting up we spent the night trying to sleep under the noise of hammering rain. The following morning we were woken by site wardens to be told that we had to be off the site inside one hour as flood water was on its way.
You can imagine the scenario about 100 vans all packing up like headless chickens and trying to get off site get refunds etc.
All that aside Tewkesbuy is a lovely site, all facilities are great as per Caravan Club standards with good pitches well laid out,
There is bags to do and see in the area as well.
Definitely go back again given the chance.

Brilliant location with many interesting towns and villages an easy drive away. Tewkesbury itself is a really pretty town and is well worth a visit.
The CC standards have slipped a little for this site. Little or no hot water to toilet block taps in the mornings / broken toilet seat in handicapped toilet stall / damaged toilet block door - left damaged. The entrance gate was damaged whilst I was there and this caused a bit of confusion in the evenings when exit gate had to be used via a 'swipe key'.
Site suffers from local flooding and in the rain site tends to get very soggy easily.
I have used this site as a 'half-way' stop to Devon and Cornwall for many years but will find another stop in future.

Used this site for a stopover, on the bank holiday fri night, the staff were friendly and helpful. Was told to pitch where we wanted and let them know which number we were on,
Unfortunately we had sited next to the footpath and was disturbed during the night by locals that had been drinking, also the pigeons were nesting in the trees and their cooing kept us awake,
Overall we were impressed with the site and it was only minutes into town or other walks.
Only downside we wanted a early start and the main gate was locked till 7. 30am.

Just spent 2 nights at this lovely site.
The Town is a few minutes walk away and many pitches have a view of the Abbey which is especially beautiful.
The toilets blocks are clean and the grounds very well maintained.
You can pick your own pitch, which I believe you can at most other Caravan Club sites as well.
The staff seem friendly and welcoming. There was a small shop on site which was adequate given that the town centre is only a short walk from the site entrance.
A very nice and quiet site. We only live local to the site but it makes for a very restful weekend break.

Stayed 2 nights. Site very central to town, easy walk. Near to abbey which is worth a visit.
As usual for a caravan club site it was extremely clean and tidy, quite regimented as to where you can park. There are 2 toilet/shower blocks so there is always one open at cleaning times.
Not sure if would be suitable for families with small children as there were a lot of older people staying here when we visited, it may be different in the summer.
Nothing on site for children but there is a park next door.

We enjoyed our 3 days on this site, where we were told to pick our own pitch, we got one near to the toilets and recycling and had to listen to people putting bottles in at midnight. I would have liked to see the wardens giving more guidance to people selecting a pitch,
Due to reseeding some pitches were only suitable for small motorhomes, yet the owners of them often choose large pitches leaving people with larger outfits struggling to get onto a small pitch. We also suffered from noise from the 2 local clubs, one each side of the site.
But Tewkesbury is lovely, the abbey well worth a visit as are the Abbey tea rooms opposite the abbey but not part of the abbey. Don't try the river trip, it's short and once you have paid the crew do not say another word, a small commentary would have helped make this trip more enjoyable.
There is a large children's play area in the local park right next door.
We will return here

Stayed for a weekend break with friends.
Convenient location- literally a few minutes walk to both the Abbey and the town itself.
The reception staff were very friendly, stocked some essential items and we particularly enjoyed the floral display at reception.
The toilets were clean and well lit. Laundry facilities plus a washing up area also.
Our pitches backed onto a path way which was very noisy on the Saturday night with people exiting a nearby pub.
It did keep me up but I put this down to the proximity of our pitch- if you are sited elsewhere on the site, I imaging it to be a lot quieter.
I would return to the site. Tewkesbury is a nice little own with some useful shops and cafes.

Very well situated close to all amenities- its an easy, level walk into town. Facilities are of the usual high Caravan Club standard. Lovely floral display at reception.
These big sites do tend to feel a bit 'car park' ish, but that's a small price to pay for the high standard and convenience.
We weren't impressed with the Bell either - try Theoc for tapas, especially the chorizo in red wine and the wild mushrooms in peppercorn sauce, both fabulous.
Some lovely pubs too, lots of real ale. Well worth a few days visit.

Fabulous site.
Wardens were brilliant and a credit to the CC.
Everything about the site is good. Location, facilities and space so that you can relax in peace.
Its in the shadow of the Abbey which is well worth a look.
Access is difficult down Gander lane and the art is to take your time.
Park for the dog to run about on next to the site and the shops are about five mins away
The local pub is the Bell and its poor with service and food.
We will definitely visit this site again

Stayed for nearly a week and thoroughly enjoyed it. Staff very helpful, facilities clean and pleasant. We found cycling around the area to be a pleasure with lots of cycle lanes. The boat trip up the river was a bit disappointing - short & no commentary.
There pitches are very varied in size/layout which is nicer than just row upon row. There are several areas within trees with a handful of pitches which is nice for being with friends.
Some of the 'side-on' pitches are long and narrow - and clearly suitable for an overnight stop where you can choose not to unhitch if you wish.

I reiterate all the previous positive comments about this site it is as you would expect from a caravan club site.
Plenty of really hot water in showers and wash up.
The floral display is a credit to the staff who work meticulously to keep everything in A1 condition, and welcome all with a smile. The site is extremely secure with a key controlled barrier and surrounding secure fencing.
Location is superb and the town and abbey are delightful to spend time exploring, there is only one main supermarket so the town retains a vast selection of individual retailers within the mainly medieval town footprint.

Our third visit love the site short walk into town pretty and well looked after friendly staff and lots of lovely flowers in Summer.
The Abbey closeby (though bells a bit off at the moment)
Toilet blocks (3) are clean have privacy cubicle and good showers.
The reception orders your papers and has bits and bobs but town so near with plenty of shops a Tesco, Coop and One Shop where you can get any thing you need river and canal to walk by and all so close.
Plenty of places to eat and drink and lots of lovely coffee shops
Will go again they have a steam engine rally next door and are close to Upton on Severn for the Jazz festival.
If have children park next door.

Just returned from a long weekend in glorious weather at this lovely Caravan Club site just round the corner from the Abbey - if you're lucky enough to be there when the bells are ringing you'll be well entertained.
The site was always very busy; many people seem to use it as an overnight stop as it's so convenient for the M5. A pity because Tewkesbury itself is well worth a tour and there are plenty of walks along both rivers. (Look out on the gate for the marker showing the level of the 2007 flood!)
Facilities are looking rather tired but are always clean and we never had to queue for showers. There's no play area or dog walk on site but there is a huge park next door which more than makes up for this.
The shop sells basics but there's a Co-op just 5 minutes walk away and plenty of pubs and restaurants in the town. As always, wardens working very hard to keep the site up to scratch.
We will hope to return for a longer visit.

Choice of approx 8/10 pitches on arrival on a Saturday of bank holiday weekend. Drive round to pick your own pitch.Grass short and ground nice and dry. Only one motorhome point and sign at water points tell motorhomers not to use them.
Toilet blocks all need a refurb especially lighting, only 4 washing up sinks for the whole site. Good security as barrier and gates locked overnight. No play equipment which is a bonus.
Buses to Cheltenham near to site and easy walk into town. Wetherspoons handy for cheap good coffee.
Always a site worth staying at if weather ok. Worth bearing in mind can flood.

Fab site. All grass which is something we very much prefer when we can find it. We have on board facilities so didn't use the showers etc. But I did have a nosey in one and it looked just like you would expect from the CC.
Wardens were ubiquitous (I've never seen so many on one site); and they just didn't seem to stop working on grass cutting, planting out, cleaning, painting etc.
Pointless reiterating previous comments about location save to say that it is all good.
Fabulous setting in the shadow of the abbey and next to a cricket pitch -- like something out of a Poirot episode when we were there! Weather was unbelievably good -- 80c most days. We even took the opportunity to drive down to Plymouth for the day; just over 2 hours away!
We shall be back next year!
