Easy to find and access this site which is in the Town centre. Short walk to the shops, bars, restaurants and the Abbey itself.

There is a park opposite which people were using to walk their dogs which looked nice.

We visited the Abbey which is excellent.

We also ate at the Royal Hop Pole which is the local Wetherspoons, although you wouldnít realise it, it felt quite traditional despite being very large - we thought it very good value.

The site itself is immaculate, showers the usual CMC standard and very friendly and helpful staff.

Only minor negatives: itís very popular and difficult to get on, and staff start cutting the grass around your pitch before you have left.

That said, we really like this site and have visited twice so far.

I cannot agree with the negative comments left by the previous reviewer. It is in deed work in progress and after such a major refurbishment it is only to be expected that there is still work to be done.

The new central facilities are very good but the underfloor heating needs adjustment as it was cool during the 2 nights we stayed. OK the lack of of footpaths to the facilities through the pitches needs sorting. Overall a good site which will get better.

Location to the town centre cannot be beaten and easy access to the park, canal footpaths and common are great for walkers. If you want a good meal try the Bell hotel (pet friendly) just opposite the Abbey.

This site encapsulates all that is good and bad about Caravan Club sites. Itís a great location, a short walk from a lovely town. Lovely large toilet block.

Itís the site itself and itís layout which let it down. The site plan, which I looked at online before I visited, shows lots of trees in the middle of the site, which suggest some landscaping and privacy. In fact there are none, and you will lack any privacy unless you are on the edges of the site.

We almost booked an all weather pitch but were very glad we didnít, as these are all (apart from 4), in the centre and all overlooked all around. It is just a mass of caravans and motorhomes, with nothing to break it up and itís not attractive.

There are no pathways for shortcuts to the toilet block, so because of the layout it inevitably means you are walking almost through other pitches on wet grass, or you walk the long way on the road, which of course no one does.

You also need to walk through pitches to reach the service points. Another completely daft design- the fully serviced pitches are those nearest to the toilet block. Some unserviced pitches may be a longish walk.

In the MH&CC handbook it states the TV reception is good. Itís not. We have 3 different aerials, one of which will always give us great TV, but not here.

If it were not for the proximity to this lovely town, we would not return.

This is a nice site in a nice place. Staff really friendly and the facilities were very good.

I know this is a work in progress but when it gets some tree's it should transform the site.

Tewkesbury is a lovely place with the splendid Abbey, some nice shops and some excellent old Pubs.

The Berkley pub is one to visit.

Stayed here for two nights this weekend. We pre-booked one of the new multi-surface pitches(interlocking pavers). Had a great weekend, a lot to do with the location and the weather.

The redevelopment, is in my opinion a success, yes the turves laid are lumpy, but when they have had some rain will bed down properly. The contractors were held back for 3 weeks due to the site flooding earlier in the year, so the completion was virtually the day it opened, so no chance to water anything in.

Comments passed that site now is featureless due to removal of a number of trees. Trees will be replanted in September, they do not want upheaval during the busiest months, as there was no time before opening to complete that task. Only one toilet block now, but we never had to wait for a shower.

Minor grouch, the temp of showers fluctuated slightly from time to time. No big deal, just be aware if you have it up very hot or very cold.

Lovely 2 night stop over in August. Beautiful setting with views of the Abbey and a 2 minute stroll into town.

Site was very busy and the spaces are quite close together, but there was no noise.

Toilet blocks were a little tired and could do with modernising but they were spotlessly clean.

This site is wonderful! It looks beautiful and is peaceful (other than the bells from the Abbey).

All the staff are brilliant, friendly, very hard working and always have time to have a little chat.

The site is all grass but copes with motorhomes of all sizes, in fact I think there were more motorhomes than caravans!

The site toilet/shower facilities are out-dated but are spotlessly clean.

There weren't many children (if any) on the site, there is not a playground on site, but a lovely park right next door.

Situated 5 minutes off the M5 Junction 9.

It is a 2 minute walk into the town centre which is steeped in history, lots to see and do:- museums, theatre, Alleyways, short walks, Antiques shops, local shops, pubs, restaurants, buses to Cheltenham, Gloucester, Worcester and lots of little villages on the way to these towns. The Cotswolds are on the doorstep which is an added bonus.

Beautifully situated across open fields with the glorious Tewkesbury Abbey in full view, this campsite is definitely one of the most superbly positioned sites I've been to. Ideal for dog walking as the adjacent fields are perfect for safe off-lead dog walks plus plentiful dog-poo bins.

Facilities at this site are not up to Caravan Club's usual standard however they are been completely upgraded from October to June 2017. Once completed, this site would achieve the highest rating possible. Hook-ups were easy and plentiful and the site had a very pleasant feel about it.

There were a combination of caravans, motorhomes and a sprinkling of tents. And lots of very well behaved dogs. The bins/water etc. Stations were plentiful, clean and tidy and well signed. It was a bit (very!) irritating to have to carry a bundle of keys with us everywhere - to enter the site and use the facilities block so hopefully, once renovated they will just have the cards - as most sites have.

Wardens were pleasant and very helpful, particularly as my friends' small campervan had a flat battery (on departure) and the warden was only too happy to come and sort it out (huge thanks are due).

One of the best children's playgrounds (local authority owned & maintained) I've ever seen was just outside the entrance gates on the edge of the extensive open grassed area (being mowed as we left) and thankfully there were remarkably few dog messes on the grass.

Tewkesbury is a glorious little town with much to see on foot. The Abbey is stunning, the river walks are a must (even ferry trips on offer). Excellent dog-friendly pubs plus cafe's with outdoor seating making it easy to enjoy a good coffee in the town. A very good market on Wednesday's.

The Tourist Office was one of the best with a wide range of leaflets. It is a town with the most amazing number of charity shops plus a huge number of fascinating and intriguing alley ways - ancient architecture abounds. No one could ever visit Tewkesbury and say there was nothing to see or do!

The surrounding countryside offers visitors plenty of great places to visit and spectacular views.

Good overnight stop off but the site is in dire need of updating. Hard standing pitches for starters would help.

The ground was very soft and there were lots of tyre marks in the grass where vehicles had struggled to get traction. Wash room facilities whilst clean are tired and need an upgrade.

The access isn't great now there is a development on the approach being built and the local council need to chop back some of the trees and bushes that overhang the road.

Motorists on the approach roads seem to park where they want including on double yellows which makes access at busy times very difficult. Then again it was an overnight stopover and we left early on the Saturday. Wardens cheerful and helpful.

Just had 5 days at this site. Although the ground was soft the motor home was parked on pads so no problem.

The wardens were very helpful and very friendly and nothing was too much trouble we will go there again.
