Our family of 4 booked and pitched our tent in the lower field for our third visit. To the family run working farm. We paid the farmers son who told us since or last visit the local pub had been refurbished.
That was the only contact with the owners we had. Thats the way we like it left alone camping. After our lovely walk to most enjoyable country pub in Newton.
Looking over the stunning tyne vally and our campsite, and after our very quiet country nights sleep, a short stroll over with my children to the more than adequate clean toilet block and hot showers, refreshed to visit the nearby historic corbridge with late night shop restaurants and two or three takeaways if we needed them.
To sum up its a camp site on a farm in a field to pitch a tent. With amenities is perfect for our family.

It was easy to find the site from the directions on here. We liked the relaxed atmosphere although we couldn't find anyone to speak to initially (should have read more than the first few reviews).
Overall it was a good site to try out our new tent although we had to pitch in the middle of the camping field because all the sides were taken up with returning regulars.
The facilities we found to be quite satisfactory and although we stayed for one night only. It was quite busy on May Bank Saturday and became quieter on the Sunday as people left for home.
A good farm location and within easy reach of Corbridge and more.

We must have been spoilt by other campsites we have been to as we thought we would try this one as it was local and we fancied a camping weekend.
Unfortunately the old saying of you get what you pay for is true in this case as all there is on site is one toilet block in the trailer/caravan field (the smaller of the two fields). We were camping and had the bigger field.
I felt sorry for the caravanners as although they had the toilet block - they also were crammed in and had some sort of ramshackle hut that doubled as a dumping ground when the bins were full.
The staff are friendly enough but have no idea how to run a campsite as although a couple of people in our party phoned prior to check that the campsite had 3 electric hook ups that we paid for they did not have them when we arrived.
The feeling I got was that as people booked the guys who run the place just did not want to turn business away and over subscribed very quickly - the surrounding area is pleasant but is only farmers fields - in short its cheap and cheerful - would be good as a stop over in an emergency but not for a camping weekend or holiday - sorry guys must try harder

I have visited this campsite on a number of occassions. Being close to home and close to the market town Hexham, this is ideal for a weekend's stay. I have only ever stayed on the 'tent field' at various parts. For dog owners, this is a good site with plenty space for walks. Generally the site is quiet and plesant for a relaxing visit.
On the downside, the character of the site changes during peak times such as Bank Holiday weekends. I feel the toilet facilities, although a little run down and basic were satisfactory even for someone as fussy as me. Unfortunately at very busy times, whoever is responsible for the cleaning and upkeep have been overwhelmed. Although off-putting I think that these conditions were created by a minority of people who do not leave things as they find them. I also found the site to be noisy over a bank holiday Saturday. The site is located on a working farm and was alarmed to see a large tractor rumbling across the tent field at speed with children running about playing! However, nothing was flattened and I appreciate works must go on.
The few staff I have encountered are always friendly and welcoming. On the tent field, staff drive round in a buggy to collect payment and discuss any problems.
Overall, I like this site which I think brilliant for tent owners and relaxing for caravanners but is not perhaps the best site during busy periods.

Stayed at this campsite for 2 nights Easter weekend. It is very handy as it is not far from our home. The wife and I enjoyed the stay. The field was flat at the bottom.
We only saw the owners when we paid which was alright by us.
The only problem was the toilet block which could be updated as it was well run down,it is not new as it states on the web sight.
I feel in this day and age that the standard of the toilet block is the most important thing about going to a campsite, also the wife complained that there where no sockets to plug a hair dryer in.
Unfortunately because of the toilet block we will not be returning to this campsite, which is a shame because of its locality.

A tidy little site with just the basics which is the way I like em, toilets and showers, no coins for the showers and plenty of room in the cubicle. There was the odd party going on in the camping field but not the end of the world, and all sounded like good natured fun with the whole family involved. The food in the Robin Hood up the road was smashing with good beer as well.
We arrived and asked if we could stay on the field with the caravans to be close to the loo's for the kids. The meeters and greeters were spot on. One cloud was the miserable bugger in the caravan next to us who wanted 1/4 of an acre to himself, but the people running the place told us to ignore him and that was that! Close to Hadrians wall and Newcastle. A neat little site with the basics done well.

We stayed here (as it was fairly local) because we wanted to test out our new tent. We had a fantastic stay, the showers were lovely and hot and the owners friendly. They came round the field on a golf buggy to collect the money and played with our dog. That was the only time we saw them really (though that was fine by us).
The field for tents is a good size and a 2 minutes’ walk from the shower/toilet block, which in itself, was regularly cleaned, and always in a presentable state.
The tent field is ideal for letting children run around and is next to some crop fields that are great to explore!
In fact, we enjoyed it so much; we are going back there in a few days time!

I started my walk of Hadrians wall at this site and what a great place to begin. The staff were very friendly and the facilities were clean and with no queues.
The camping field had plenty of space so my son and I were able to play cricket and football, while allowing everyone else their own areas.
If there was any improvement to make I would like to have had the option of freezing ice packs. Overall a great little site.

We stayed here 9 nights the shower are good hot and clean the field in places is on a slope but you can get over that the tents are on the other side of the road
The Richardson family we found friendly and nice to us
The site was in places muddy as it rained before we got there we had no problems with it and had a good holiday without any mud in the caravan
We would go there again as it was a nice site with nice people

Small friendly site.
Some of the fixtures and fittings definitely need renewing. Information/games room a mess, seemed to be used as a dumping ground.
Toilet block could do with a good clean and some love and attention. Not very good provision of water taps meaning quite a long walk to renew and tip soiled water.
Grassy areas generally well kept and a dog walking area provided around one of the fields which was a nice touch.
