 We were really disappointed by this site and left after only one night.
Yes the views are lovely, as were the dolphins. But the facilities left a lot to be desired. Firstly they weren't heated, and we needed them to be! They we decidedly tired.
Whilst it wasn't the owners/managers fault there was a water main burst, which the owners/managers did know about. But it was their responsibility to know the showers were only producing cold water because of the reduced pressure. All that was needed was a notice pinned to the door. Instead I had the unpleasant experience of only finding out after I had taken all my clothes off and had stood waiting in a cold room for the hot water to come through & it didn't. I then got dressed and walked along the road to the other shower block and the owner drove past and waved! When I got there the process was repeated but this time no water came out! How did I find out about the burst pipe? A local man walking his dog told me! Yes I know this sounds funny, but in the cold and rain it isn't.
No we wouldn't come back here.

We arrived just after 1pm, greeted by a very friendly young man who showed us to our pitch, we were told we could get set up then report to the office to pay our fees. The site was clean, tidy very quiet & beautifully located for spectacular views over the Moray Firth. The shower block was always clean & even though there was only one shower in the block I only had to wait once in the three weeks we were there. The shops were just a short walk from the site (approx 1 mile) & the local shops stocked most of what we needed, there were supermarkets in Inverness which was about a 15minute drive. Channory Point is a short walk along the golf course & the Dolphins did not disappoint us, we had a number of days when we were able to watch them. I would not hesitate to recommend this site if you want a nice quite no frills clean pleasant & friendly place to stay.

Stayed here two nights. Had hoped to see dolphins but the weather was quite stormy and they didn't appear. The site was very good value at £20 a night for three adults and a toddler.
Pitched right by the beach with EHU. Fabulous views over Moray Firth. Free wifi available. Fortrose has a good Co-op and is walking distance away with a bank and other shops. Facilities are a bit dated but adequate. Owner friendly and helpful.
We would stay again.

We have just returned after touring Scotland and found this was a great stop over, the staff where very friendly and helpful, the site itself was very accommodating for all size units, they have just installed a new shower block which was great, toilet block was clean if a little outdated would use again.

The location of this site is just outstanding. We were pitched right next to the beach - the kids (5 and 8) loved it! Some reviews have mentioned the road that runs through it as maybe being an issue- but it was never for us. It is so quiet - there were hardly any cars. There was one shower in the toilet block which was not an issue as it as relatively quiet. (Not sure if there was another block further along). All very clean. 1 mile walk to chanonry point to see the Dolphins (although we went twice and never saw them). Would definitely recommend - and return.

This campsite is all about location, being situated right on the beach it has fantastic views over the Moray Firth ! All pitches are grass and some towards the reception end of the site were quite muddy ! The toilet & shower block is a bit dated but was kept clean ! There is a public road which runs through the middle of the site which we thought was a bit odd but it only seemed to be used by cars going to & from the adjacent golf course ! Chanory Point is about a 20 minute walk along the beach (or golf course) which is a must for dolphin watching as they come to within 10 feet of the beach ! Amazing! All in all it's a basic site in a stunning location we will definitely return

The site is on both sides of a minor public road, which is odd but was not a problem as traffic was very light. We would have some reservations, however, if we had young children with us.
Many of the pitches, which are all on grass, are directly by the Morray Firth shingle beach and is therefore ideal for dog walking.
On arrival a notice at reception asked us to phone and a young man duly appeared and checked us in. The toilet & shower block was clean, had plenty of hot water but only 1 small sized male shower which must be hopelessly inadequate when the site is busy. One reviewer mentions WiFi being available but we were not informed of this service. The £20 pitch fee (with EHU) struck us a rather full for what was available.

Stayed for 4 days over Easter £20 a night caravan x 2 adults. Free showers, free wi-fi, toilet block dated. But very clean. But stunning views. The dolphin's were active at chanory point. Richard the site attendant was very helpful and pushed us to the site edge for the best views. Owner, s are very friendly and help full too. I have been here a few times and enjoyed my stay. Good value for money, compared to the C. C. Club site at Rosemarie.

Just stayed 3 nights here and wow the views were stunning. The owners and also the young man who assisted with us getting a fantastic pitch on the edge of the moray firth were so helpful and nothing was a problem. Just one tip. Take cash to pay your fees as no card payment facility, however this was not a problem as there was cashpoints in fortrose. Yes the toilet facilities were outdated and only 1 shower, however, I never had to queue yet and the water was really hot. Lots of lovely restaurants, takeaways and walks near by. We were on our first trip with our 10 week puppy and he also enjoyed the trip. We will certainly be back very soon

Stayed here for 1 week last July, what can I say I didn't want to leave, weather was fab. Caravan pitch was big and the views where amazing. My trip here was just to sea the wild and free dolphins. Day 1 went to chanory point no dolphins :( day 2 No dolphins :( day 3 while eating my breakfast and looking out of my caravan window I saw something LEAP out of the water, SCREAMING to my Hubby DOLPHINS LOL WOW AMAZING. That day we where told to go to Chanory point 5 min drive away to see the dolphins up close. Go 2 hours before high tide. You wont be disappointed. We saw 20 or so Dolphins with baby leaping out of the water and feeding FANTASTIC I would never go and see a dolphin in a stupid tank. See them wild and free just like they should be. Anyway did I mention the Dolphins lol. The owners of the site sorry I forgot your names, bit they where lovely people. Who gives a monkeys uncle if there is only 1 shower. I never had to wait to use it. Off site there are plenty of shops to fill your fridge with booze. No space left for food lol. Joking not :)All in all me the hubby and my baby boy milo/dog had a fantastic time and going back this year last week in july I think.

Stayed in a tent at this campsite, all pitches electric and very roomy. Plenty of space for large tent and big car. Toilet block not to far from any pitch, is tired but perfectly functional and although there is just one shower, I didn't have to queue once. Bring hair dryer and straighteners as there are power points in the toilet block and in the kitchen plus a handy microwave.
For pitching, it can get VERY windy, best for tents on the pitches further from the shore. A gazebo will survive if it has a wind bar and good quality guy ropes. Windbreaks should have guy ropes at least to be any use.
Rock pegs are essential for these pitches, very stoney and I strongly recommend them.
Open fires, BBQ's are permitted and is especially nice on the stony beach.
Fortrose is a short walk away if you follow the road away from reception, turn left, newsagents and a delicious chippy. Turn right and drive 5mins down towards the lighthouse and you can see the dolphins playing fairly close to shore usually just before high tide.
I did feel the site fee was a bit high for tents but it seems to just be expensive to camp all across the Black Isle.

First time out ever with caravan thought I would keep it local. First choice was Rosemarkie (just 500m away from Fortrose) but club site was full so tried Fortrose instead despite reviews on here which are a tad unkind. Yes the toilets could do with a refit but they're perfectly fine for their intended purpose. Don't be put off. The benefits otherwise are many. Choice of spot, almost all on the shore front. All with electric hook up. Owners laid back and welcoming (in a stoic highland sort of way) think of Andy Murrays grandparents. The best bit and surely the whole point of caravanning; relaxing with plenty of space for kids. Rosemarkie by comparison looked cramped and industrial ( I walked over to check). I'm sure it's not, just appeared that way. My tuppence worth. Oh, it was a reasonable £25 per night no concession. Local tip; chip shop is very good as is little shop both 10 min walk away (straight on after the school path, not left as all others did )

We have just had a week here
My better half researched the best place to see dolphins on the Moray Firth, this is the area, without doubt.
The site does have the road through it, but it doesn't lead anywhere and it was very quiet, you could count the no of vehicles on 2 hands in a day.
We had a nice pitch, feet away from the beach, nice views over the Firth towards Inverness
Yes, the facilities blocks (there are 2) are not the newest in existence, but they were nice and clean with lots of hot water.
The owners were very pleasant, and very knowledgeable about the dolphins.
Did I mention the dolphins?
This is a site to visit, if you want to see them. The walk to Channory Point, is through the golf course, pleasant in itself and they appear to play for the audience. We saw them 3 out of 5 visits.

Great beach setting on grass 4ft above spring tide highest water if you like a full moon max high tide. Great view across inner Moray Firth.
However, this year, our visit was not value for money. £20 per night for facilities which need a serious upgrade and damn good clean. We had just come from a caravan club site where we paid fair amount less for immaculate facilities and fantastic beach.
Site owners, please fix the missing tiles in the only shower in the ladies, scrub the mould out of the cracks and wash the floor in the laundry/kitchen. One microwave does not make it a kitchen. The vintage wringer on its trestle was an interesting period feature. We weren't happy about having to drive over our, and others, mains hook-up cables to reach our 'van.

Used this site for 20 years love the site managed to get the brother inlaw to camp in a tent for first time. Paid £20 for camper with awning but was also charged £20 for 3 man tent with no hookup absurd for very poor services. Site very run down grass along front about 2 foot long. Sad to say wont be back plenty better sites for better value. As for laundry spent £9 to dry 4 towels in tumble dryer from the 80s. Wee money maker for them. Spend some money updating the place please
